      All of these people are so quick to trust Kenna after a viral video while Dr Dray has done videos on literally all of the requests that people have in the comments and she is an actual dermatologist with an additional PhD in molecular biology... Nobody can be more qualified to talk about skincare than her!

    • @shoegal7
      @shoegal7 5 років тому +3

      Dr. Dray is sponsored now, isn't she? Have to say, I think it's a little unfair to be pushing Dr. Dray's channel on this channel.

      @@carll.1405 True but I think it is smart to fully analyze anything anyone says, no matter their degree! Dr. Dray is for sure my go to skin care "guru" if you will. I love her no nonsense and anti cosmetic gimmicky approach to all of her reviews. She seems to truly care about her subscribers and is fully informed on products she does in-depth reviews on. This isn't to pass a negative judgement on Kenna's video or channel. I just can't comment on her content merely because this is the second video of hers I've watched. However, given her degree and experience I wouldn't immediately discredit her video! Though I would say it is wise to do your own research regardless.

    • @karlierechlin7654
      @karlierechlin7654 5 років тому

      @@shoegal7 Good question! To whom do you believe she is sponsored by? She never seems to advocate for one single product, aside from her "top favorites" which is a wide range, not just one product. I know she gets a lot of samples from conferences, etc. being a dermatologist but she does not promote everything she gets, she's actually talked negatively about many products she's received for free. I'm curious to know though. I think it's more helpful than anything to bring up channels like Kenna's to help others learn about and identify false advertising that's being spread by the cosmetic industry! To say it's unfair would be like finishing one of your favorite books and then getting mad at someone else for recommending you a similar book.

    • @shoegal7
      @shoegal7 5 років тому +1

      @@karlierechlin7654 early on Dr. Dray seemed fine but she's doing quite a few sponsored videos and strangely, in those videos, ingredients she had previously scorned are now suddenly okay. And I thinks it's fine to suggest other channels but there seems to be a distinct attitude here that Dr. Dray is the be all and end all and has already answered all of the questions now being posed to Kenna. There's room for everyone and I agree with you, we need to be aware of the falsities cosmetic and skincare companies try to sell us.

    Yes! I love ingredient highlights like this, it helps me have a better idea of what actually works as I shop for products! If you’d have the time and ability, I’d love to see a series on debunking any ingredients (especially “natural” ones) that are advertised to have certain benefits but actually may have little or no impact on the skin. Thank you for your videos! 💕💕

    Quick note. Make your headlines in the form of questions that people ask about a specific topic. It will help with click-throughs and views. Quora is a great way to research a topic that is asked about frequently and will give you ideas on how to write better headlines for your videos. Great channel.

    Vitamin C is shoved in our faces so much that I finally purchased a product and all it did was break me out. I didn’t even see brightening or any of the things it claimed it would do. Thank you for this information!

    Good to see, hear unbiased, straighforward opinions from the scientific side of skincare. Saves lot of time and effort in researching the best ingredients for ourselves. I was thinking about Vitamin-C, L-ascorbic acid lately, whether it is worth it, but wasn't convinced. After this video I'll try to research some of these ingredients you mentioned. Thank you Kenna for the videos!

    Found your channel through all the Jaclyn Hill nonsense. You’re amazing! I have been watching Dr. Dray for years and it’s great to find another credible educated person on YT. Against my better judgement I purchased the Skinceuticals C E Ferrulic serum and it might just be my imagination and change in weather/eating habits, but I can really notice a difference. I’ve been taking “progress” pics every month and there is improvement in my dark spots and my complexion overall is smoother. Could this actually be due to this very expensive serum or is there just not enough research to say for sure ? Also, WHY is Skinceuticals so expensive??? Scam? Scientific explanation ? Please make a video on this brand ! Greetings from Texas!

    LOVE the series! Since as you say antioxidants are most effective through consumption, and we probably get enough through diet, is applying them topically in either Vitamin C or resveratrol an important skincare step in terms of anti-aging/collagen? Or did I misunderstand? It almost sounds like applying topically is a waste of product.

    Wow this is actually very informative. Thanks. Was heavily considering a vit-c serum, but i haven't had good results with them before so i decided to do some research before investing again. Glad i found this. Personally, every time I've used a vit c serum or vit c contianing product, I've had the opposite result of what it's supposed to do. So i always ended up with worse looking spots and pigmentation. I was really confused so i decided to google and turns out im not alone.
