Nope, or not big enough to matter. All that action is heat release related, it stays liquid way longer than alumilite and lets the bubbles get out as it cures. Now if I wanted it really clear I would put under pressure also, but for castings like this to turn I don't run into any bubbles that will cause bad spots in the final piece.
Nice looking blanks. Do you use a release agent for your PVC pipe or medicine bottle? If so, what kind. Sometimes I have a hard time getting those suckers free.
The polyester resin cures with a much smaller amount of catalyst added, so that was methyl ethyl ketone peroxide which starts the curing process. The pill bottle plastic is one that the polyester resin doesn't stick to and it shrinks a bit once completely cured so it slides right out most times.
@@FrickWerkz Thank you, for your early reply. I haven't thought about the catalyst. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get these pill bottles here in Germany. I'll try to make a blank with hdpe pipe instead.
Interested in seeing the way it looks after turning
I will turn it on the channel at some time, stay tuned.
No bubbles?

When using the PVC molds I spray in a little silicone mold release - here is a sponsor link to what I use on Amazon - amzn.to/2WtZLAj
Were you using a few drops of air release?
Nice work, looking forward to turning my own first shave brush handle.

HDPE will work well, so would PVC, just gotta cap them tight.
