Hi everyone! Unfortunately we are not going to be able to proceed with the van raffle due to some unexpected raffle laws. We will keep you posted if things change in the near future. Stay safe!
This is one of my favorite builds on here for the Ford Vans 😍 I'm in the process, the beginning of converting a 2002 E350 XLT Super Duty 15 passenger Van into a camper. This is a dream van! I have massive windows too, I love them! It's so bright and airy when I remove the curtains I custom made. I love this bed! The porta potty too!! The entire thing! So many ideas now!
Yours is my favorite Ford build so far! My fiancé and I are building out a former passenger Ford Econoline, and trying to figure a way around the rear AC without removing it. This was super helpful to watch- our main concern is the size of the bed, is it comfortable for 2 people? Considered having a fixed bed but we would have to build such a high platform to go over the ac Unit and we want more head space!
Thank you! Yes, it is a good size for two people. A nother option is to close out the ac and have the stationary bed set at length with the front and back of the van. Similar to how we have the couch but without the cut in the middle. If you have an extended van this would work well but if not then you just have to keep in mind that the side door will most likely hit the bed when closing but this is something that can be adjusted. You can check out more of our van conversions @woodpeckercraftsandbuilds this one is my woodworking channel. Good luck on your build and dont be afraid to reach out if you need tips 🕺🏻
Thank you JB! Glad you noticed, those straight line are hard to come by since most of the van floors are all uneven! We try to focus on the window lines and ignore everything else ;-)
Hi Goatee! The tool is called a Contour Gauge, we also used a bit of Styrofoam to have a better example of what angles would look like before we cut the wood. The Contour Gauge takes a little getting use to but once you learn how to use it, it can be a big time saver. Enjoy your build!

Hi Gurus! check out the description for info on the Contour gauge tool and the exhaust fan. As far as the ceiling I am not too sure of the name but it is the only white sheets that lowes or home depot carries to make white boards. It will be located in the fine wood section. @@Daniel-xu6kdWe believe the ford passenger vans are... they are usually in better shape then the regular work vans. Its hard to find a used work van that hasn't been abused.
Great beautiful! Beautiful work! I’m leaning toward that type of bed myself. Thank you for the inspiration! For anyone interested in that corner tool, when you order it, Amazon currently has a 50% off coupon. I just bought it for $9 and some change. Much love! ✌️
Hi Tammy! Awesome, we will add you! send us a message to rogermayratravels@gmail.com or on instagram messenger. We need at least an email or phone number so once the raffle happens everyone that wants to participate can be properly notified.
hi Miguel! yes, there is a yeti goal zero in the compartment to the left of the toilet which powers the vent and can also be used as a charging station.
I love the construction, it's much more simple than most builds, and also really beautiful. Definitely the way I'm hoping to go. Does the toilet smell? Where do people dump their toilets?
Hi Danny! Thank you, we try to add lots of love in to our builds while still keeping it simple. As far as the toilet, no it doesn't smell if you add the tank cleaner / treatment and when its full you can dump it in any regular toilet along your route. Good luck on your built!
I own a 2006 e350 as well. I enjoyed your video while I brainstorm designs and layouts. I'm currently doing some exterior modifications before I start working on the interior. How did you go about fasteni g the wood panels to the walls and doors? What did you do for the ceiling? I am debating on leaving to stock ceiling in because I would like to utilize the vents for the rear heat and ac. I thought it was clever that you boxed off your rear unit.
Hi Ross! We are glad you enjoyed the video! On the walls we attach 2x4 to the inside of the van and that is what everything else like the cabinets and panels get attached to. As far as the doors we drill the wood directly in to the door, pre drilling every hole with a drill bit. The ceiling has about 5 beams that holds it in place we attach wood to that and that acts like the 2x4s on the walls of the van. If you have some time, check out this van build here ua-cam.com/video/alCdQBEXgyA/v-deo.html you can see more of what happens in the back ground of the finished van. Hope this helps, enjoy the build... easy does it!
How did you block off the rear heat/AC unit? I just bought the same van to covert and did not realize it was there. Contacted many mechanics and they all advised not remove it. I see you blocked it off but wondering if you did anything to it before covering it. Thanks.
Hi kelly! We were also brainstorming on ways to remove, by pass and all sorts of things before we decided to just leave everything as is and build around it. As long as you don't turn on the rear ac nob everything is ok. We also thought about building a bed Horizontally right above it but that will not allow you to sit up on the bed since your head will be hitting the roof. You would have some killer storage space though! These are just some of the options we considered. Good Luck!
I have a similar e350 I deleted everything for the back heating and looped the supply and return back together. Thinking about using it is as an on board hot water heater. Tie in some metal lines to heat water inside of an insulated vessel. Like big pvc pipe, for the body / water supply of an outdoor shower. DIY solar shower type of build but using heat from the engine to warm the water while hiding it underneath the back platform. If I don’t go that route I will just river sheet metal over the holes where the lines come up into the back. Anyways, like your build
@@SPDDFL That sounds AMAZING!! we were a little to scared to start disconnecting things in the rear ac but if you could make it heat your shower that would be something we would love to learn! let us know what you come up with..
Hi San C! thank you! Yes we think it would still work. We really like the ones without windows as well since they have a more stealthy look. Good luck on your build!
I maybe able to contribute to the raffle after I get my taxes. I love to win. I've been wanting to build me a van to travel in. But funds will be low for a while. But I really enjoyed the video. The van looks very nice.
Hey there period I'm in the process of doing this to my Econoline f350 like the one you guys had. Kind of have my own ideas. I'm just really trying to figure out how you did your bed slide. Can you show me any pictures of a frame period how it sits up in the day and how it slides down. I see the thing on the video but I'm still trying to figure it out
Hi Luke! It is actually a pretty simple set up. Email us at rogermayratravels@gmail.com and we will send you a few images that might help. Talk to you soon!
@@RMTravels thank u so much! I too have a Ford econoline 2004, it only has 51000 miles on it! I love what u did to the interior of that one! It’s awesome!
Is this the 15 passenger E350? I like your lay out but it seems like you can’t use the bathroom once you slide out to make the bed ? What’s underneath the sofa bed, can you make it lower so you have more head room ?
Thanks so much and yes it is. We had in mind taking out the portable toilet but we're thinking of different ways. For the bed yes you can but we like the storage space and a comfortable mattress ( 8').
Hi John, It is still on hold due to raffle laws here in Florida but if things change in the near future we will let you know. Take care and stay safe :-p
Hi Jon, mostly under the bed but when we were on the road with our other van we had a roof rack and one of those storage boxes and honestly we rarely touched the stuff in there. Seems like less is more when you are on the road.
Hi Mawile! Not too sure since we have never had one but that does sound like a great idea! You can always start off with one of those box trucks they use for moving. You can find some pretty good deals on used ones. Let us know what you end with! We love to see new builds and ideas!
Did you feel any division in the middle of the bed when it’s laid flat after cutting it? Doing the same thing and wants to be able to cuddle in the middle and not feel the gap.
Hi Sam, on our first van we did and I - Roger would always end up in the gap in the middle of the night ...lol!! We had cut that one with a knife so it was a bit uneven but now we have an electric foam cutting saw that cuts really precise. you still feel the gap a little bit if you are laying directly on it but not enough to become a bother. Hope that helps with your decision. Have fun on your build!
Hi! its called a Contour Gauge. You can find it at harbor freight or online, it makes every corner cut that much easier. Ill also post an link to the description to make it easier to find. Enjoy your build!
Thanks for the video! Van looks great! I am interested in what the tool is that you mentioned for angle cuts. Also wondering if the heat and a/c rear unit is still functioning? Did you re-route it?
Hi, thank you! the tool is caller a contour gauge! As far as the a/c you it still turns on but it is boxed in behind the cabinets, we kind of bypassed it. We thought about having a hole where the ac can shoot out of but we figured it would be too close to the wood and might cause condensation.
No worries Thomas, thanks for stopping by. We are not sure what it is called but its the white thin flexible sheets that are similar to white boards in offices, it comes in 4x8 its the only thing in the store that looks like that. Home depot also carries them. Hope that helps. Good luck on your build!
sorry for the late reply its called a contour gauge! you can also see our newer van builds on our woodworking channel WOODPECKER CRAFTS AND BUILDS there are a lot of woodworking tips there and van build shorts!

Thank you!! We put a lot of love in to it! We purchased the mattress on amazon. I added the links on our description section for easy access. It comes uncut, we had to cut it and cover it to make it the way it is now.
Sir, you spoke of a certain tool that allows you to cut special pieces of the tongue and groove wood to go around the metal around the door. Can you provide me the name of that tool and tell me where I can buy the tool. Many thanks.
Hello there, just to not get anyone confused. We're selling this van and if we are able to do the raffle we will convert one similar for the raffle. We hope this helps clarifying any doubts
Hello Hildeberto! We will look in to some of those options, we might find something that can work for us on our future builds. With this van we wanted it to have the looks, comfort and functionality. Wood is one of those products that gives it the look and feel we enjoy. Most of it is heat treated so its not as heavy as it looks. Take care :-)
Hi Carol, on most vans there are sections that are screwed in and held by clamp connectors. You have to find those and start taking them appart piece by piece. Good luck and happy building!
Hi, well the pump is a Valtera rocket hand pump and the 5 gallon tanks are Reliance Rhino jugs. Now as far as the sink it is custom made with different parts from Lowes and other stores. We hope this helps. Enjoy!
Hello Nicole, there is some under the bed, the cooler is for the food and if more storage is needed you can always add racks to these vans and get a cargo carrier box. We had one on our main van but honestly we only used the stuff up there a few times on our trip. Safe travels!
Nice van!! Also go over raffles/sweepstakes laws. Right now the raffle your doing is illegal. There's a vanlife couple who did the same and they got reported.
Hi sd bolt, thanks for the heads up! Do you know where we can get more information about this? We have never done a raffle before so we didn't know about these laws. The whole point of us doing it would be for the opportunity of someone getting a van like this for almost nothing. Before we made our first van, we had dreamed about having one for a while and I am sure other have as well. We will definitely look in to it more. Thanks again.
@@sdbolts165 Ok, no worries. Thanks for the heads up either way. We are going to look in to Florida raffle laws and take it from there. We will make sure to keep everyone informed.
Hi Fran, thanks for watching our video. Height is about 1feet - length is about 70 inches - width is about 26inches without front plywood cover - what supports the back is the metal for the tire. you place a 2x4 right on top of that and screw it to the frame of the van in a straight line. The front height should match the back 2x4. We hope this is helpful to you. Sorry for the late reply!
Cool!! we will add you. Send us a message to our email at rogermayratravels@gmail.com or on our instagram = R.m.travels so we when we are ready to do the raffle we can get a hold of you through a phone number of email. thanks!
Hi Razor, since its a 350 it does drinks up a little more but it is totally worth the extra power. Especially when going up steep hills with the weight of the build.

Great beautiful! Beautiful work! I’m leaning toward that type of bed myself. Thank you for the inspiration! For anyone interested in that corner tool, when you order it, Amazon currently has a 50% off coupon. I just bought it for $9 and some change. Much love! ✌️
That's awesome!! That Contour tool saves the day!! Glad you enjoyed the video and have fun with your build!
Dang I want this lol. GREAT JOB!!!!
Thanks you!! much love was added in to this build!
Looks nice.

Thank you Ramona and thanks for watching our video🙂

Add me to that list if it's still available please! Im dying to start the Vanlife life style!
Hi Tammy! Awesome, we will add you! send us a message to

Dope van .. good job guys
Thanks Marz! This one was made made with extra love and care :-)
For your vent do u have a battery powering it ? I don’t believe u showed the power source
hi Miguel! yes, there is a yeti goal zero in the compartment to the left of the toilet which powers the vent and can also be used as a charging station.
Good Luck!
I have a similar e350
I deleted everything for the back heating and looped the supply and return back together.
Nice 👍🏾 I like this layout, simple and functional. I have a 1999 Ford Econoline 150 cargo van, do you think this layout will work without the windows?
Hi San C! thank you! Yes we think it would still work. We really like the ones without windows as well since they have a more stealthy look. Good luck on your build!
Great job guys 👍🏻
Hi, thank you! Glad you liked it!!
Very nice!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Love your van build! Could u please let me know that tool your talking about? For the corners?
Hi, thank you! it was built with love... the tool is called a Contour Gauge. Good luck on your build!
@@RMTravels thank u so much! I too have a Ford econoline 2004, it only has 51000 miles on it! I love what u did to the interior of that one! It’s awesome!
@@sheliafalgout5043 Thank you! and those are great miles!! that van will last foreverrr!!! Enjoy your build, steady wins the race!
I love love love this build ! I have an Econoline and I wanna do something very similar to this !
Awesome!! Thanks for the love! These Econolines are the best vans for the build since it has so many windows and space! Have fun!!
I'm very interested in seeing this raffle happen!
Hi John, It is still on hold due to raffle laws here in Florida but if things change in the near future we will let you know. Take care and stay safe :-p
Beautiful build! Do you have any storage? I didn’t see much. I ask because i have a Ford econoline build and i have issues with storage.
Hi Jon, mostly under the bed but when we were on the road with our other van we had a roof rack and one of those storage boxes and honestly we rarely touched the stuff in there. Seems like less is more when you are on the road.
Check out vacuum bags for soft clothes .
@@flowrob6861 Oh yes, we had one in our travels...pretty cool. Thanks for watching our video:)
How reliable are the newer econoline-series cutaways? I'm thinking about getting one and putting a box on it
Have fun on your build!
what’s the tool You mentioned that helped with cutting Your back corners??? thanks.
Hi! its called a Contour Gauge. You can find it at harbor freight or online, it makes every corner cut that much easier. Ill also post an link to the description to make it easier to find. Enjoy your build!
Thank you! Beautiful build.
@@trishena thanks Trishena! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
Change the name from raffle. We belong to 5013c. Cant legally do raffles.
Great job. Thanks for the tour. What did you make the ceiling out of?
No worries Thomas, thanks for stopping by. We are not sure what it is called but its the white thin flexible sheets that are similar to white boards in offices, it comes in 4x8 its the only thing in the store that looks like that. Home depot also carries them. Hope that helps. Good luck on your build!
@@RMTravels where did u buy your white boards from? You say HD also carries them which sounds as though you got them elsewhere
@@susiehernandez6652 Hi Susie, we purchased it from Lowes! it comes in sheets of 4ft by 8 ft. Good luck on your build!
I would like to know about the corner tool thanks
Hi Wade, Check out the descriptions. Good luck on your build!
What's the tool for the corner cuts?
sorry for the late reply its called a contour gauge! you can also see our newer van builds on our woodworking channel WOODPECKER CRAFTS AND BUILDS there are a lot of woodworking tips there and van build shorts!

My friend and I want to do van life we are trying to do van life for our growth spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. We want to become the highest version of ourselves and we would really appreciate being added into the list it would help us get our plans moving if we did win. We want to film our journey as well and help people in each state we go in some way, because the world needs light and maybe her and I can add some back.. at least that’s the plan. Anyways I would really appreciate being put on the list.
That's awesome Jasmine! Sounds like a great idea! at the moment we have everything on hold due to some unexpected raffle laws. We will keep you posted if things change in the near future. Thank you for you interest and best wishes on all of your future plans.
Picking up my van in two hours can anyone recommend where to go to have the custom size bed cushions made
Hi Arthur, our recommendation is to search for Upholstery places near you and maybe they might be able to help you. Sorry for the late reply and hopefully you get to travel in your van soon . Safe Travels
Thank you for the video, awesome build. Where did you purchase the memory foam & did it come in two pieces ?
Hi Ron, its called a Contour Gauge. I posted a list of the things we used in the description. Happy building!
what is that white material you used for the ceiling?
Hi, we believe it is called a Marker board Wainscot Wall Panel... they sell it at any Lowes or home depot. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your build!
IS this the same van listed on either Craigslist or fb.?
Hello there, just to not get anyone confused. We're selling this van and if we are able to do the raffle we will convert one similar for the raffle. We hope this helps clarifying any doubts
@@RMTravels how.much are you asking
@@evangelistterezausa.portug5837 Hi Tereza, it has been sold already ;-)
And is the raffle still going on?...me and my wife planned on doing things van style for quite some time now!
Hi Nick, Its at stand still at the moment. if things change in the near future we will let you know. Cheers!!
I like van ,how about light weight for gas mileage, foam insulation, bubblerap aluminum foil, cloth, snapons, aluminum instead of wood...
Great ah
Hello Hildeberto! We will look in to some of those options, we might find something that can work for us on our future builds. With this van we wanted it to have the looks, comfort and functionality. Wood is one of those products that gives it the look and feel we enjoy. Most of it is heat treated so its not as heavy as it looks. Take care :-)
Have 1994 turtle top
How do i remove Celine center light n sound section
Hi Carol, on most vans there are sections that are screwed in and held by clamp connectors. You have to find those and start taking them appart piece by piece. Good luck and happy building!
What is the tool you used to do the corners?
Hi Chuck! Its called a Contour Gauge. A game changer tool!
Hi whats the name of your water system ?
Hi, well the pump is a Valtera rocket hand pump and the 5 gallon tanks are Reliance Rhino jugs. Now as far as the sink it is custom made with different parts from Lowes and other stores. We hope this helps. Enjoy!
Does the parrot come with the Van😍😘
There's like NO storage in here. Where do you keep clothing? Supplies? Food?
@@RMTravels no clue. But look up some van lifers called wander bus. Then another vanlifer made a video about their raffle. His name is Dave 2d
@@sdbolts165 Ok, no worries. Thanks for the heads up either way. We are going to look in to Florida raffle laws and take it from there. We will make sure to keep everyone informed.
Do you have a link for the lifhts
Hi Hugo, everything can be found in the description! Enjoy your build!
what are the dimensions of the sofa?
Hi Fran, thanks for watching our video. Height is about 1feet
- length is about 70 inches
- width is about 26inches without front plywood cover
- what supports the back is the metal for the tire. you place a 2x4 right on top of that and screw it to the frame of the van in a straight line. The front height should match the back 2x4. We hope this is helpful to you. Sorry for the late reply!
Can you add me to the list looking to start a van life my self
Cool!! we will add you. Send us a message to our email at rogermayratravels@gmail.com or on our instagram = R.m.travels so we when we are ready to do the raffle we can get a hold of you through a phone number of email. thanks!
Nice van! Did you ever notice the gas mileage?
Hi Razor, since its a 350 it does drinks up a little more but it is totally worth the extra power. Especially when going up steep hills with the weight of the build.
Is this still going on??
Hi Kimberly, the raffle is on hold at the moment, however we will keep you posted if things change in the near future. Thanks for stopping by.
has the raffle been won?
Hello Milk & Honey, not yet. Another traveler advised us to look into the Raffles laws since we had no experience doing this and is not looking good. We might have to cancel it :(

*You can't use the toilet?*
*Why did you make it where the plywood was higher than the toilet??*
*AND When the bed is down it can't be used!!*
*The door on the front of the sink would be a pain. Why not just put hinges on it???*
*Some of the things you have done, don't make sense!!…*
*BUT there is some pretty things you guys did that were really nice, like the whole window area. I like the corner boards in the back with the White curtains.*
*It's really nice. Just not a good layout.*

Hi Shirley! At the moment we have the raffle on hold while we research the raffle laws here in Florida. We will keep you posted if things change in the near future ;-)
I CAN'T STAND those STUPID HANDPUMP sinks! So IMPRACTICAL...how can you wash your 👐 hands??? A Foot pump still let's you regulate the flow, but you can still wash your hands ✋. The whole raffle idea is Awesome though......KUDOS 4 thinking of that as a way to be able to give the Van away.
Hi Leila, thanks for watching our video. We didn't mind it in our travels but we'll definitely keep the foot pump in mind for future builds ;). and thanks for the Kudos :)
There's also a rechargeable pump. They run around $13 and can hook up to a Culligan bottle. I'm thinking about making one of these fit.
