LOL! I remember the first time I played this. Even after the Elder God said that, I was still nervous about jumping into the water. I was doing the equivalent of putting a toe in the water and going, "Is this really safe now?" XD
Rahab and Dumah were always my favorites, but rahab shoulda figured that those painted glass windows were a huge decorating flaw for something like this
The line I treasure above all others from this dialogue was "Do not mock me, Raziel. You above all of us should respect the power bestowed by a limitation overcome" beautiful. Rahab seems to be the wisest of all lieutenants. D.R.

This game is Sooo under rated ppl say reds evil is scary but I think this scarier the atmosphere is hella darker Oo n the music I'm 22 and I still play this game when im not alone
@ZeoTheZombie Originally, it was intended that killing Kain would gain Raziel the 'Shift at Will' ability (which would have worked as you'd imagine), and would move on to find / fight Turel in / around the industrial area producing the ash smokestacks you can see belching soot in the distance. It was instead decided that there was just too much game to fit into a single title, and the sequel was planned instead. Personally, I think they made the right choice.
you would think that to "immortal" beings such as vampires with such desire for conquest they would not be loyal to such an extent yet they all were very faithful to kain. even raziel at the very end came back to kain's side.
as you progress thru the series you start seeing signs that Kain is not acting out of pure self interest, plus these were his "Sons" since these were the only Vampires he sired personally(due ot the means he was turned into a vampire , Kain couldnt turn others by regular means, for him ot sire a Vampire he had ot split his own soul to pull another one from the Spirit realm into a Corpse, this made his Sons fairly powerful, but they also got the effects of Kain's own corruption hence why they all devolved)
@krs25666 I agree. I get the impression that with Turel gone and Dumah having gone mad with power Rahab became Kain's new top lieutenant, since Kain shared with him the knowledge that Raziel would come. Also, Rahab said Kain saved them from themselves, so does that mean Kain showed him how awful they were as humans?
Of how merciless and brazen they are as Sarafan. They hunted vampires seething hatred and impunity like a cancer to be rid of, to take the Pillars for themselves, unaware of what horrible evil and reckoning kept at bay.
Actually, it's not just out of jealousy that Kain had Raziel executed. Defiance specifically reveals that Kain killed Raziel in order to create a creature with free will, who would be capable of altering history.
@Nintendoman01 yeah. I also remember Kain having a bit of remorse in him when he battled Raziel on Deifance and it looked like Raziel was dying. Wasn't he like "Nooooo Raziel.....I....I didn't mean" then Raziel tore out his heart lol. But I don't think Kain ever did hate Raziel
@Hasfast Raziel says when he you meet the first bunch of vampire you fight that "fledglings are devestated by sunlight's touch", all adults are immune to the sun's effects (with the exception of Rahab and his clan). Although that doesn't explain why Kain doesn't die from sunlight in Blood Omen 1, but i guess that might be because he has the Heart of Darkness in him, which could've given Janos' immunity to him.
I believe the rumor is for a rerelease over the PSN, not for a remake. A remake surely would be nice, but I think a sequel to end the series is in order, first.
Rahab had possibly the coolest voice of the brothers, although it's a toss-up between Rahab and Zephon, for me. Poor Rahab. Died for a cause they all ended up believing in.
The only complaint I have is that Rahab overcoming the Vampires water weakness and his dialogue with Raziel suggests that Kain was forthright about the past and future to Rahab, making him so interesting and stand out...but holy shit was that boss battle WAY TOO EASY
He is on the area known as the Drowned Abady. You can arrive there from the Sarafan Tomb. Once you are on the Tomb turn into the spectral realm and the floor "will go down". Follow the way till you encounter Morlock (that it's not other thing that an offspring of Turel). Defeat him and you receive the telekenesis habilitie. Shot a stone that it's blocking the way (it'a had a symbol). Go through that way n you'll arrive to the Sarafan Tomb exit that it's connected to the Abady. Good Luck ;)
@Hasfast I think it was explained that vampires during the Sarafan age kept a lot of their humanity. This might have been a reason for their immunity. Unless they were old enough to lose the daylight weakness. Only young vampires are susceptible to it as Raziel explained. Kain is a rather special case, since he wasn't made a vampire by regular means. The heart of darkness might have something to do with it or his role as scion of balance.
His backstory (a little of it, anyway) is explained in the intro movie for Blood Omen 1. More is explained in Kain's first meeting with Vorador in the same game.
Originally, we were to visit Turel's regime in SR1 - you can see a glimpse of it when heading to Dumah - huge smokestacks in the distance belching smoke. The purpose of this was to create a sort of nuclear winter, blotting out the sun and allowing vampires free reign.
The boss battles in Soul Reaver are nearly great. You do feel they were not able to tweak them to perfection due to time constraints. The ideas behind the bosses and the battles against them are brilliant but could have been implemented better. I would love to see a remake of Soul Reaver/LoK with enhanced visuals and combat.

As far as i knew, Malek didn't die after his famous battle with Vorador, he was just defeated but not dead. Then there was a trial in which he was sentenced to be imprisoned in his armour for having failed to protect the circle. Moreover, that didn't occur in an "afterlife location" since in Avernus you can find the very room in which Malek was punished.
Really? That's cool. I liked all their voices (especially Malek's of those three). It's also too bad Tony Jay passed away -- I don't know who'll voice the Elder God now.
Malek was one of the Circle of Nine - the Conflict Guardian, to be specific. Kain tries (and fails) to kill him in Blood Omen 1, Vorador successfully kills him twice, the first of which being shortly after he leaves Raziel's presence with Moebius in SR2.
yeah thats right. i just meant that if he had no weakness to water or sunlight, then he was immune ot all natural dangers. even kain can die from being fully submerged in water. so he was pretty much invulnerable. but yeah your right he was never vulnerable to sunlight. i messed up :p
Nevertheless, in past ages, Kain could wander pretty much abreast in the land, as did Janos in his Aeris and in the Vampire Citadel (and we all know how tall was that Citadel). And the vampires the Serafan killed didn't seem to catch fire, they were simply impaled. Perhaps the sunlight curse was only present in SR1, but was taken out in the other games. D.R.
There was cut content at the end of defiance that would have finished the series; placing the soul reaver in Avernus for the young Kain to find, and kain travelling forward in time for a final battle with the elder god, restoring the pillars
@Hasfast Nozgothic vampires aren't harmed by the sun; they are only weakened by it. However, since fledglings and Rahabim are devastated by sunlight, it's possible that they have undergone mutations that removed this resistance.
The Sarafan whom Kain turned to vampires were corrupted by the taint on the pillars. Kain 'contracted' the taint at birth, and passed it on to them when he made them.
True, but Blood Omen 2 had something in it that the other games did not: technology. The Sarafan in that game were also behind an industrial revolution.
Hmmm, that seems logical. Now that you speak of it, what did Dumah suffered from? He had the Constrict, but he seemed to be invulnerable except for fire, which was a vulnerability they all possessed. Only Raziel and Kain seemed to be able to stand fire blithely. D.R.
Sadly, no. Defiance left things unanswered and had an open ending that invited at least one last game to finish it. There was a sequel in the making, called Dark Prophecy, but it was canceled. Eidos has hinted that they're going to revive the franchise, possibly even this year.

This is the only instalment in which Vampires are susceptible to receive damage from daylight. That's weird. Maybe they were planning on making vampires on a more common perspective and then projected it otherwise. Unless Kain and Janos were as immune to the sun as Raziel was, there is no other true explanation why they would not be hurt by it. And another thing baffles me: Daylight seems to pass by the clouds only in certain places of Nosgoth. In others, only that thick gloom and fog exists.
Azmuth the Planer "kidnapped him, brought him back to her time, and dumped him into a pit or some crater to be worshiped by Mortanius and his acolytes as Hash-A'-Gik, who orginally was none other than the Hylden that in turn possessed the evolved walking vampire-bat shaped Turel.

I’m not sure I’d go that far.
I think Rahab hates humans because he’s been a vampire so long.

I doubt he feared death, as he came to meet raziel, knowing his brother was about to destroy him@Kyjohnson1500
