I'm giving away a BRAND NEW STIHL MS 261 chainsaw! Enter now through November 23, 2023 (Thanksgiving Day). Details here: ua-cam.com/video/ZBVu7w2BElM/v-deo.html
I just bought this saw after spending two years hedging. I didn't think it would be a big enough saw. I love horsepower. Boy was I surprised. This thing is a beast. Lightweight, zero vibration, and tons of power. I'm sure it'll be the last saw I ever buy. Simply amazing.
Love the 550XP Mark II My current lineup consist of Old school Blue Homelite XL-12, Echho CS-301 top handle, Husqvarna 455 Rancher, 550xp Mark II, and my powerhouse 395xp. As soon as they come out with a fuel injected Husqvarna I'll probally have one of them too! 😀
Thanks for your Honest and Genuine Reviews ! I have a Stihl ms261 non-mtronic chainsaw and Love how it cuts and the torque it has ! One of the Best Pro Saws you can spend your money on ! I am retired and have a Hobby farm with lots of trees to cut and have been very happy with my Stihl saws. After looking at your videos plus lots of other reviews I decided on purchasing a Husqvarna 550 xp mk 2. Received the Husky today and was impressed with the quality of the saw. Like you I will for sure like both saws for what they have to offer ! Thanks again for your Fine Videos !!!
Awesome video like always! So good to have an honest well presented review. Very glad I have taken the plunge and bought one! Thanks for all your hard work putting together these great videos!
I bought 1 & it ate at me all week for not getting the 550 XP Mark ii for the little bit more $, I ended up picking it up to like 6 days later lol, my wife WAS NOT IMPRESSED with my shopping skills lol they both run AMAZING, it’s been 6-7 months now & they run better than the day I got them, awesome video, should do some updates on it
I ordered a new 550 XP Mark II. It finally showed up last week and was defective out of the box. Does not appear to have any spark. She is at the dealer now getting troubleshot. Not off to a good start but I am hoping for years of good service when I get her back.
Ok so my saw is set on max oiler and oil Leaks out from the guide bar cover. I turned it down a little and it still wants to leak. Any suggestions what I can do to fix it? I can turn it down more but I wanna make sure the 20 inch bar is getting enough lubrication. Also I use countyline bar and chain oil. Thanks
Excited?!?! I’ll do more than hit the like button! I am going to go buy one! Thank you for the input I love your videos and you definitely have sold this chainsaw to me lol!
Awesome! It. Is. A. Great. Saw! Nice footage! Please keep your cutting area as clear as you can. That small log near your feet could have tripped you up while bucking the bigger log. Just an observation with concern for Your safety. Liked, and SUBSCRIBED! Stay safe and Healthy!!! 👍👍👍✌🏻🇺🇸😄
@Patrick Bateman I have been buying husqvarna saws since I was 11. I started with a 254xp (bought one a year) went to 357xp and they were good saws as long as you didn't cut the rakkers back to much (broke the clutch end of the crankshaft off) then went to 346xp good saw lack of power though. Then they came out with the 550xp. Good power not enough to turn a 3/8 chain 20in bar is what I run. First saw was good for a year traded it for another one (approximately 2016?) Since the first one I can't get one saw to last any longer than 6 to 7 months. It starts sounding like a 2 stroke snowmobile then wont start. All of the 550xp (6 to 8 of them ) since have all scored the intake side of the cylinder wall and none of the three dealers i felt with would stand behind them. I like the way the saw feels otherwise i wouldn't buy it . My opinion but they are junk!!!!
Honestly I'd never cut big logs like that with this saw. I usually carry two saws, I drop trees and buck big logs with my 460 rancher or 592xp. This should be sold as a limbing saw. I suppose it would do in a pinch if you could only have one saw, you for sure don't want to limb with a 592xp, it would beat you up LOL.
Hi PLEASE help me... idk which one I should buy this 550 or stihl 262c its very similar husq has bigger weight can you help me and tell why is one of them better? Thanks and nice video
Stay tuned! I have a Husqvarna 550xp Mark II vs Stihl MS 261 C-M video coming on Friday. What I will say now, though, is not to let the weight be a determining factor. Also, please consider your dealer support and availability when you make your decision. Thanks for watching!
Hold both saws at a dealer. Which one do you like better? In my area Stihl parts and service are everywhere there is a stihl dealer near my house. Husqvarna dealers are nowhere to be found. You can buy a Stihl 261 with no electronics if that is your thing.
@@viperstrike3827 i will choose husq bcs dealer is near to me and bcs this video where husq wins vs stihl with same bar and new chain this sound of her is amazing ua-cam.com/video/emQP7_XVDAY/v-deo.html
That noise is what you call 4-stroking, it happens when you hold the throttle wide open without a load you'll over rev the engine and it will make that noise. The electronic carburetor adjust fuel and air mixture with software which allows the manufactur to tune their saws more aggressive. Conventional carburetors are tuned slightly richer on the high side to prevent over rev and burning your engine.

My dad and I have a firewood business and we cut trees anywhere from 12 inches in diameter up to our biggest of 48 inches but most trees are 12 to 30 inch diameter and we use a 19 year old husqvarna 455 rancher 20 inch bar. Is it worth the upgrade to the 550xp mark ii?
He never claimed 2 be a pro, hes a homesteader, he'll b fine, so will the saw, but yeah, he tends to run wide open much more than i do!! I give enough throttle to b most efficient.
He is little bit intense ,considering the saw is brand new. The first serie of 550 xp was no good, i blew two of them in 12 weeks . A good saw must at least last 20 weeks when used for professionnal logging. The first 550 was over heating and stopping all the time for nothing . I hope this one is better. The first Stihl 262 with a tilted engine was not better ,it blew motors like pop corn.

The sound of that saw is soo great
I agree!

Sorry, I bought the 545 Mark ii 1st, idk why I wrote it like that
Awesome, I am enjoying this saw. I'm excited to see how it breaks in. I will definitely post more videos with this saw. Thanks for watching!
Honestly for a big hardwood log like that I'd use my 592xp, keep the 550 handy for the smaller stuff.
I have a Husqvarna 545 Mark ii chainsaw with 18-inch guide and 0.58 chain. Very good!
I think you mean .058 chain! O.58 would have a kerf over a half inch!

Update please ??
The coil was bad. They replaced it. It was covered under warranty.
@@rckcrushr Thanks. Hope your saw lasts a life time. Cheers.
I ordered one before seeing videos , hopefully delivered soon !!
Hope you enjoy your new saw!
Got 1 yesterday, I loved soon as I picked it up from the shelf , weight, feel ..

Just got this saw myself! Was too busy with customers and restocking racks to try it out. But will be giving it a good run in the morning!
You're going to love this saw!
Glenn, the only firewood you tuber who actually pronounces Husqvarna correctly, haha.
Haha, thanks. I took notes from the Swedes.

it's a good saw so far but have heard there lasting about a year of full time use I'm running mine hard been 4 months already no problem yet
Cool. Cool... That heavy oak (live oak, it looks like) is some tough cutting. Great for cooking and firewood though.
This is post oak and it is great for cooking barbecue! And of course for heating with.

Thank you, George! Welcome to the channel! I appreciate the concern.
Wonder if the thg figured out how to stop them from scoring the intake side of the cylinder wall after about 250 to 300 hours

@@garycastner5225 if I had to venture a guess,...the fuel. Richen up your mixture.
640.00 with 20" bar. I just bought this saw in Mich for 677.63 out the door .
Hey man love your videos what size bar do you have on that mark 2
Thanks, Chase! I'm running an 18" bar on this 550. I've found it's a good size for this size saw.
I just bought one and I really like it. Thanks for the show. I’ll subscribe and keep up with you.
Thanks, man. These saws are so much fun to run. Glad you're enjoying yours!

How many pumps on the bulb?
I do about 4 times on average but it depends if I have run it recently. I have had to press it up to 5-6.
15" or 20" bar - what's your opinion?
18" bar is what I run on my 50cc saws. It's a happy medium between length and cutting speed.

Why do Husqvarna saws make that whining noise, not just the buzz of the 2 stroke?
I know what you mean. These autotune saws wind up really fast. It may sound more like that in a video but you can hear the two stroke in person.

Yes
@@dennissawyer8496 thank you sir, I'm getting the saw in mid November
18” bar?
Yes, this is an 18" bar. Good size for this saw.
Nice little toy you got there!
Thanks, Chris. I'm having fun with it!
It ain't no toy. It's a powerhouse
Sounds wicked!!!
I love how this saw sounds!
Me too
My 1981 450 homelite would out cut this toy by a long shot. But, she’s a heavy old girl with a real chain.
He isn't even pushing this saw into the wood.
I had an old 450, I don’t know. 😊
No.
Not a chance unless yours is ported maybe.
Nice!
I cut firewood for almost 40 years . And no I will not buy Sthil anything .
What chainsaw do you use most now?
@@OldSchoolMillennial Husqvarna
Nothing wrong with stihl, plenty of people say the same about husky, hate the brand bashing!
Have you owned Husqvarna chainsaws? If so, what is your experience with them?
You might want to sharpen your chain your factory chain.
by far you are not a professional,
the chainsaw does not always need to be accelerated to the maximum to cut well
