      Personally I find it the hardest to see where your manga would end up, drawing panels and stuff is fairly easy, but the writing is difficult cause you’re looking for the correct words to use.

    I would have liked to see *more* WIP sketches as opposed to finished work.
    Some more "before and after" examples would have been nice too.
    Don't forget to mention that the length of the panel also determines the length of time in a scene.

    Although I have questions about being a manga artist... I want to become one too when I grow up.
    1. Do you need to learn about art and manga history in order for your manga to be unique?
    2. Do publishers(especially in Japan) accept your manga if you do it digitally
    3. Is it okay to switch in different genres after making one manga?
    4. Do manga artists need to have interest/to study about computers and technology or just be crazy about it to be successful?
    5. Can I still make a successful manga even though I don't really play a lot of games which is really important when it comes to making manga about adventures and action
    6. Can your manga still be published in Japan even though the manga doesn't involve on japanese culture but the language is japanese?
    Sorry for the disturbance Mama Mushroom but these questions are bugging me out. I think some of these questions are also dumb especially number 4(sorry about it tho). I just don't have any choice and for me this is only my source. Thanks in advance and God bless on your manga😁

    great video! it helps me a lot to do my manga better. back then, in my previous manga until 2016, I directly work on the actual page without planning a storyboard. all of those manga ended up in quitting because the dialogues, camera angles, panel layout, etc. gets screwed later but this time I plan carefully before working on the actual pages of my current manga.

    I really hope you can do a video on "how to know if you're good enough to draw the final version of your manga". I'm always on the fence about starting for real since I've started my story several times, but scrapped it since my art was never good enough/got better throughout the chapters so it ended up looking weird.
    How did you know it was time for you to start for real?

    • @purpledawn2727
      @purpledawn2727 5 років тому

      @@moimoiyoop but the thing is that I have "started right now" several times, but I'm never satisfied with it. And it's not like I'm waiting around for my art to get perfect(because it won't), but I feel like my art progression is really noticeable. I now that it's common for a manga's art to get better with time, but I feel like mine's too jarring for that. I would've liked my series to look a bit more consistent than what the other drafts looked like.
      Also, I'm not that happy with my art in general. It's okay, but I feel it's not in the same league as a "professional" manga. Which makes it difficult for me to determine when it's good enough. I know starting right now is probably the easiest answer, but I've already done that..😂
      I'm just really curious to how and when Lizbeth decided that she was good enough. Her series, while I'm sure she also has improved, looks still very consistent throughout the volumes so far.

    Hi Lizbeth! I know this is a kind of old video, but I've been watching all your videos latley and its taught me a lot. But i have two queries with panel layouts. 1, How do you tackle a flashback scene that has a lot of monologue. I thought about putting the text of the characters monologue in a box, but I found i have too many boxes on the pages, so is there any other creative ways i can show the characters monologue without it being too repetitive and messy?
    2, do you have any tips on ending scenes for a volume? So far I just have a birds eye-view of my characters talking but are there any better ideas for an ending scene which isnt ending at a cliffhanger style-wise?
    thanks! I love your videos so much!

    • @MyMangakaLIFE
      @MyMangakaLIFE  3 роки тому +2

      Ooooh!💖 Those are GREAT questions!! There are countless ways to tackle both of the challenges you’re facing so really think about what you want your viewers to feel and experience when they read the flashbacks and endings of your chapters.
      1. For flashbacks, the challenge is to make sure your reader doesn’t confuse scene of the past with scenes from the present. Most manga show flashbacks by filling the edges of the pages (space around the panels) with black. It’s a pretty common and effective technique. I’ll certainly make a video on this soon!😊
      2. And when ending a chapter or volume, something I often mention in my script and writing videos is to end a chapter with either an “aaaaw”🥰, “NOOOO!!!😫”, “Wow, whaaat?!”😧, or “HAHAHAA!!”🤣 Leave then wanting to know what happens next! Cliffhangers work well, concluding a little side story at the end of a chapter (like “monster of the day” anime’s like “Sailor Moon”) are very satisfying, while adventure mangas tend to leave you with a feeling of wanting answers; who was that new enemy? Are they... gonna end up together?! Did he survive that attack?! Other stories like to end with a wholesome or heartfelt moment that makes you feel more connected to the characters.
      At the end of the day, the reader’s experience must be kept in mind at all times. Make it easy to understand and leave their curiosity peaked 😊💖 I hope I was able to help!

      Hello dear! A manga is closer to 5-6 chapters each and there’s roughly 30 pages per chapter😊 But these numbers chapter drastically depending on what’s happening in your story, where you want the chapter/volume to end etc. Please watch my script videos for my information and guidance!💖

    How do you know when to stop adding more detail

    • @MyMangakaLIFE
      @MyMangakaLIFE  Рік тому

      That all depends on what you want☺️ Some mangas are super detailed, some are more simplified, and everything in between. There are countless unique styles out there, so the amount of detail you add will depend on the look you’re going for👍

    Question do you start a new chapter with a recap on what happened on the previous chapters like they do with anime episodes or is that stupid?
