Toupac is male, but you might be thinking of Ripley, who passed away a bit before he rescued Toupac. She was a Female Toco while Toupac is a male Toco.

I just realised that when his eyes are closed, Toupac's eyes look like blueberries :O

My seramas (mini chickens) do the same beak “chattering” when they are getting snuggled up as well. They don’t do the vocalization that Toupac does, but the beak makes that same noise. I heard it means they’re very content and happy.
Toucans use there voice its them makeing the noise if they used there beak it could harm thwm and or damage there beak unlike chickens who have a strong small beak toucans have a long beak and a voice they use there voice to make clicking noises

There is nothing like seeing the excitement in your companion animal to see you again after a period of time away from them. When I had my finch, he would be so excited and sing so loudly.

You should try to learn or adapt a behavior that would say back to him what he is saying to you with the headshake. I learnt to adapt certain horse behaviors to say back to them what they were saying to me. It helps, it really does. You should also write an article up for the bird magazines to remind people what the behavior is about.
There's a South African youtuber who has to tigers and he communicates with them like doing the greeting/yo, we are cool/good to see you-huffing sound. There are definitely ways to communicate with other animals beyond just our own languages. :)

I stumbled across this video, and found myself tearing up. I grew up with a parrot, who loved to hop on my shoulder and would tuck her head down toward my chin, so I could stroke her just like you do with Tupac. It just struck me now how much I miss her.

That is the most wonderful thing I have ever seen! Of course it makes sense that flock members would greet each other after an absence, but to see it on film, wow. Toupac was so glad to see you, he's such an affectionate boy! Maeve, that crazy kid made the clicking sound at least, it is interesting that this is a behavior that begins at one year of age. Thanks for sharing this! So sweet and so educatonal at the same time!

So cool to see how much Toupac cares about you. Given the shape he was in when he came into your care, I'd wager he likely never had a close relationship with either another bird, a person, or another type of animal like he has with you. It's really amazing the kind of love that an animal can give to a person, totally unconditional and absolute love. It seems like he really appreciates all the work you've put into helping him get healthy again. He is looking so much better, I hope that his knees get better and that he regains his ability to fly. Keep up the great work, I love the videos you make.
