Well, the belt and gloves are from the myths. But it looks like the one in the game isn't as heavy. The only reason Kratos wasn't able to hold it was because he tried grabbing it when Thor threw it at him, and it is said to be unstoppable once thrown.

The biggest reason why Sindri is so overwhelmed with Brok's death is that because Sindri was only able to retrieve 3 of his 4 soul parts from the light of Alfheim, now that Brok has died again, without all his soul parts, his soul can't find the light of Alfeim and therefore Brok has been denied an afterlife. That's why Sindri was able to resurrect him once before and can't this time. This is a detail that this compilation didn't show.

But, yeah when Brok eventually died, then his soul wouldn't be able to reincarnate anyway. So that's on Sindri, we're not promised today or tomorrow. I'm sure Sindri thought he could correct his mistake before he died again, but he never got the chance. Sindri is more passed off with his own mistakes then Atreus and Kratos, he just hasn't realized it yet

The writing and execution of his entire arc are nothing short of a masterpiece. You guys should also check out the GOW Ragnorok: Valhalla DLC cutscenes, as they act as an epilogue to Kratos's story.

Not that that changes the theory I'm asking for clarification for myself.

To answer your question about the companion characters (Freya/Atreus) you can control them to some extent.
They both have their own unique abilities/summons and can swap arrow types to modify the type of damage they do.
A good example is when an enemies is in the air you can stop their animation by throwing your axe at them or using your companion to shoot them.

Think thats also why Thor said when he left " your debt has been paid". bc there was nothing else, no debt paid in Kratos just showing Thor his GoW rage. all a matter of perspective.

Part of what makes Freyr stick out as a good guy to those that play the game, over those that watch the cutscenes... There is a whole part of Alfheim behind Tyr's temple full of side quests. Most of the writings and a whole temple in that area is for Freyr, and both Light Elves and Dark Elves revered him.. Also while clearing the Einherjar that Angrboda mentioned on the way to the double shrine, Kratos learns that there is something in Niflheim. When you get there, there is a new path that leads to a prison that fell from Asgard. While running around you can hear moaning, it is Sinmara mourning Surtr. Getting to the bottom of the prison, you find Tyr locked up. He remembers hearing about Kratos when he traveled the world, letting you know this Tyr is different. Odin needs live subjects to disguise himself. Tyr walks all the Realms upon learning that Odin was killed and only Asgard falls. Going back to the sands of Alfheim you find Thrud and Mjolnir, which Thrud is able to wield being worthy of it. Also at the beginning of the game Odin pays for the damage Baldr did to the house with a coin, that Krtos throws away. Skjoldr learns this from Atreus. After the game you can go back to the derelict outpost, a side quest. Skjoldr is seen trying to pry something out of the rock pillar. He mentions that Atreus told him you threw a coin away. Skoldr is a man who becomes king of Denmark.

That was my exact thought, when it looked like Atreus was going to put the mask on, I was just about to say break it before he snapped it in half. There are just things we are not meant to know.
And to answer your question about controlling Atreus/Freya, you don't control them much, just push square to make them shoot and hold square to use their special attack, also seitch between Sonic and Rune arrows.

One point to be made about Sindri, he is usually obsessed with being clean, but if you noticed, he hasn't cleaned his armor since his brother's death.
I was really hoping that they could have addressed Sindri in DLC, but we did get Valhalla (which I highly recommend watching).
Maybe the next DLC or game with Atreus. I really really want Sindri to have closure.

The one thing I love about Odin's portrayal in this game in how unrelenting he is about is obsession. Thor is beyond flawed and has done monstrous things, but even he in the end is able to see reason.
Odin does not and will not. The best example of this is when Atreus says "You can choose to be better" and Odin replies immediately and without hesitation "no I can't."

So the thing is with Sindri, is that when he brought Brok back to life and lost a part of his soul... Brok can not go to the afterlife. which means no hel nor Valhalla... he is forever lost in the void gone. Sindri will no longer see him in life or in death. the part with "the hole" was a riddle brok gave mimir to solve. mimir tried to get kratos to help him. so there is alot of missed context from the dialogues between cinematics.

To put it plain and simple, the ending where he sees the mural. Kratos was always mocked for being the God who was feared, never worshipped or received love from mortals - even Odin says that. The mural shows Kratos receiving food (presents which were given to gods by mortals as a sign of their love). Kratos is seen as a protector, a true God you can worship by the nine realms. The Valhalla DLC wraps it up beautifully, you two should react to that too - Karthik

Gamers usually don't sell the game. There are side missions, plus once you beat the game. You unlock different weapons that are not in storyline. Plus new modes, the number of times you beat the game, the more stuff you unlock.
It is for every gow game from gow1 to latest one.

The impact of that ending for Kratos comes back around to something Odin said, basically that Kratos didn't know what it was like to have people worship him, to love him. He was just death and destruction. And Kratos has always believed that of himself. That he was for all intents and purposes, damned. Now for the first time Kratos has forgiven himself at least in part for his past, the horrible mistakes he made and the terrible acts he committed. He sees the path now to becoming a just god, one of hope and creation. rather than death and destruction.
