Will the 3DoF work with any DP over USB device? That would be a total non starter for me (and many others). Being able to turn my head to look around and reposition/ resize the screen, even if just using it to play games, is a huge deal. I would pay the $500 entry fee if 3DoF just works, allowing me to use a laptop (or Steam Deck) with a giant screen and be able to turn my head to look at the multiple windows I might have open.
This is the same price as the quest. Might as well get that instead. 🤷♂️ I could see them being like 250-300 bucks but being almost 500 is crazy with other headsets in play that do more.

They do mention it on the official website, it is 6 meters away. Or you can think of it like 60cm away from 21.5" screen, if you have a hard time imagining 215" 6 meters away. But compared to 60cm, 6m is better because you can relax your eyes instead of keeping them converged at close object.
Wow, Finally with HDCP support. The problem with most of the AR/VR glasses is that most of them does not support HDCP 2.2 so you can't watch any of the paid streaming services through them. I'll probably have to order one.
This. Did you order some and try them with common streaming services? (Netflix, Amazon...). If so how is it? Fixed image so you can turn your head and look at different parts of the display?
@@prhannator2874 I had the original Rokid air and I it's pretty good watching non HDCP stuff like UA-cam or streaming your own video files. I did order a Max but have not receive a shipping notice yet.
ALL vr will at some point return to how they are doing things right now xD The fact they dont have to stick a whole fat battery and SoC into the headset means they can just focus on the style, weight, size, and monitors/out vs trying to cam it all in there.
Nah I will pass. Cool that we see more and more such glasses but its still to bare bones, Im looking for something like Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition. Wireless multiple virtual screens.. not a single screen meh
I don't understand how these glasses are different from normal VR headsets. They are not capable of tracking you correctly, is there anything else? Could I use them to play steam-VR games?
I think the concept is to just have a head-mounted display, primarily for media consumption. Anything VR/AR like needs to be handled by a connected device, so you get that 2016 phone-attached-to-head VR experience except the phone is at the end of a USB-C cable. If you wanted competent VR, you'd for sure be looking at another product.
Think of it as on screen display map while you are walking, multi tasking office work loads via multiple desktop mode on your glasses compared to 3 or more physical monitors, this isnt intended for vr, but they just can do some of it which is a plus, and they are lighter since no battery and other internal hardware on them, the Nreal design looks like regular rayban glasses from couple feet away, you don't look like a cyber punk weirdo when you are using this outside your house XD which mostly be good when operating drones, but for me the best feature is that I can see the keyboard and mouse while having an on screen display, I want to play non vr games with that kind of display while also making of the open view of the glasses on the lower section of the glass at home, I am still undecided on which brand to get, didn;t expect rokid will make a 2nd version already.
I don't think these glasses will look good on the shelf where your TV is sitting right now. Imagine your entire family sitting on the sofa watching a pair of glasses on the shelf. Utterly ridiculous. 🤪
It’s just a receptive glasses You can only use it to watch Netflix etc It’s unlike Oculus where they have a console for you to interact to play games etc Most importantly it’s a Chinese brand and i think your data is similar to Tik Tok which is transmitted directly to the Chinese government authority

@@prhannator2874 I had the original Rokid air and I it's pretty good watching non HDCP stuff like UA-cam or streaming your own video files. I did order a Max but have not receive a shipping notice yet.
I'd like them for games on my computer/laptop.
Do the higher refresh rates work on Steam Deck?
How are they compared to the NReal Airs?
Can you compare to the viture xr one?
please use compressor for voice recording, i can do audio edit for your voice
Very cool, but can it run Doom?
Is it possible to fix the screen in Samsung dex?
yep!!
Will have to test it personally
Can. They work as 6dof vr headset
Resolution and Hz are good but why not HDR
The look would detract, but most people are interested for the functionality.
Does it work with websites that play 3DoF 3D VR movies?
Giggles... We all know 😂
@@firstjayjay Asking for a friend!
@@sheld0n I am that friend
Does it work with iPhone?
It looks nice but I'm gonna wait to see what apple comes out with first before buying.
ALL vr will at some point return to how they are doing things right now xD The fact they dont have to stick a whole fat battery and SoC into the headset means they can just focus on the style, weight, size, and monitors/out vs trying to cam it all in there.
Probably the only AR that currently supports 120hz. Others are stuck at 60hz.
Glasses like these are great for media consumption but until they cost around $150 it's just not a good value at all.
does it work with i phone 14 pro max ?
Nah I will pass. Cool that we see more and more such glasses but its still to bare bones, Im looking for something like Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition. Wireless multiple virtual screens.. not a single screen meh
Doc's google prototype scopes with built-in LCD, LED, 1080p, 3D, Sony technology built into every single lens are better!
Those are cool af imo
I don't understand how these glasses are different from normal VR headsets. They are not capable of tracking you correctly, is there anything else? Could I use them to play steam-VR games?
I think the concept is to just have a head-mounted display, primarily for media consumption. Anything VR/AR like needs to be handled by a connected device, so you get that 2016 phone-attached-to-head VR experience except the phone is at the end of a USB-C cable. If you wanted competent VR, you'd for sure be looking at another product.
@@HolographicThoughts I see. It would be nice to have these two concepts combined.
@Maimai biri Thanks, that sounds great.
Greetings from India! But is this good enough to replace your home TV?
I don't think these glasses will look good on the shelf where your TV is sitting right now. Imagine your entire family sitting on the sofa watching a pair of glasses on the shelf. Utterly ridiculous. 🤪
How is the fov of 50 degrees compared to 92 degrees on the quest 2? Don't know what it's like to have 50 degrees field of view 🤔
It's real bad.
Nreals were like 45 degrees.
This isn't that much better.
Its not meant for VR just a big screen
I wish they looked like the nreal air, these look even worse than the last rokid 😂
Do they support VRR (adaptive sync)?
They do not.
Am stcking with the N-real air, rockids look a rad gimmicky to me
Aw man my eyes are -6.25 😅 I’d love to try before I buy
It’s just a receptive glasses
You can only use it to watch Netflix etc
It’s unlike Oculus where they have a console for you to interact to play games etc
Most importantly it’s a Chinese brand and i think your data is similar to Tik Tok which is transmitted directly to the Chinese government authority
Needs to be compatible with iPhone / iPad. Perhaps when new iPhone releases the iPhone 15 with USB-C.. but does it work with latest iPad?
I wonder if this affects your eyes over time
No mention of 3dof?
Yeah this will still move the screen with your head even on mirrored mode which will make you nauseous real fast
mine have never made me nauseous
The first one looks better
Sponcered video if I ever saw one. Wouldn't be surprised if they paid him in company shares
