    I love that I can easily disable the loud beeping which announces the microwave is finished ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxRDB_bcaZEIluKD5LMPVlvPAA2E1HbFNo No more walking up at 2 am when my roommate decides it's finally dinner time! Also, it heats food much faster than the microwave it is replacing. This surprised me, but it's great. The heat is even, and (so far) no problems. I only gave it 4/5 for small spaces, as I'm not sure I would agree to that. It fits perfectly in my kitchen, which isn't huge, but it would have been bulky in my condo. I am moving up from a smaller sized microwave, partly because popcorn didn't fit well in my old microwave. It will fit in this one.

    I have wanted a Panasonic inverter oven so bad for so long. but I never had an apartment with enough space to use one. Now I have a much much much bigger place and I can finally get one of these.

    Ordered this a few days before I saw this demo as love Panasonic inverter technology. Thought my old model bit the dust after our many electrical issues this winter, so ordered this, and then was able to reset my old one by the unplug plug back in appliance reset trick. Oh well. I am so looking forward to trying my tons of halibut that I will broil or air-fry with breading in the combo settings.
    I also bought a pack of 100 sheets of parchment paper with holes to keep messy foods from dripping down.
    Loved that you actually cooked something as a demo.

    I had an earlier version of Panasonic's convection microwave and used it almost exclusively instead of the full range oven. Saved on electricity and clean up. After 15 years it finally died and been looking for a replacement. I wasn't aware Panasonic came out with this model. A key for me is if the heating elements are behind the oven walls or exposed inside the oven?

    • @atticusbeatty1621
      @atticusbeatty1621 2 роки тому

      Check out the reviews on Amazon for photos. I just got this oven and there are perforated ceiling and walls but I don't see the heating elements outside of the perforated ceiling and walls if that helps. The interior is sleek.

    • @LagrangePoint901
      @LagrangePoint901 2 роки тому +1

      @@atticusbeatty1621 Thank you. Just what I was looking for. Some oven's "convection" feature is a heating element at the top of the oven used more like a broiler. The true convection feature is the heating elements are behind the wall and a fan circulating the hot air. Thanks.

  • @bec9696
    @bec9696 10 місяців тому +1

    As an Australian, I had to google a "broiler." Rather concerned when a majority of the results came back with a breed of chickens. I'm assuming it's what we would call a grill? Regular ovens (here anyway) have a special spot that is used to brown, "grill,' etc that has elements at the top...

    • @rachelcrowder6566
      @rachelcrowder6566 8 місяців тому +1

      I love Panasonic inverter technology and have had an older one for many years. Use it many times every day and especially love it for reheating a plate of food. Put food on a plate from the fridge, press the one inverter reheat button and it senses exactly when it is ready without over or under-cooking everything. Can also put the serving platter in there and do the same. I think when it senses some moisture - evaporation from food that is heated, it knows it is ready. I thought my microwave finally got fried in all the electrical problems my location has had this winter, but after unplugging, it reset and seems to be working. Oh well. I don't mind having a new Panasonic with all these extras since I ordered this one a few days before I was able to reset the old one to work again. I can never have too many all-in-one appliances!

    how is the panasonic compares to the breville Combi Wave™ 3 in 1?

    • @Gernatch
      @Gernatch 3 роки тому +6

      Just bought the Panasonic. Reason? Mostly because I like the basket it comes with for air frying. Also slightly cheaper. Breville doesn’t have this as an accessory. But I’ve been making oil free fries in my convection and I thought they were decent until I bought this thing. Now they are crunchy and amazing.

      Here! Had this thing for 4 months now, and it cooks beautifully. Too bad the build quality is just not what used to be.
      Ive previously intensely used my parents 14 year old Panasonic NN-CD997S which was pure luxury compared this this microwave in terms of build quality. The NN-CD997S happens to be a facelift of the National NN-C2000P, which we had at our other house since 2002, but it gave up the ghost in 2019 (I still think it could've been repaired) and we got ourselves another NN-CD997S.
      This NN-CD87 is only a downgrade in three aspects: its convection goes only up to 220 C, whereas the 997 went up to 250 C. The 997 was still bigger on the inside and had two racks, supporting "two level convection" to bake more at a time. And finally, tge previous ones were made in Japan where as this is China

    Why does the manual say this device needs to be operated on a SEPERATE CIRCUIT? What does that mean? ( Caps are manuals, not mine)

    • @islandgal500
      @islandgal500 2 роки тому +3

      1 yr. later, but... some appliances can take more electricity than others and if you plug in another high-powered item into an outlet hooked up to the same breaker source it can blow the fuse. Basically, just plug the outlet into a regular kitchen electrical outlet and don't also use it at the same time as something else that takes a lot of power. You will know when the fuse/breaker needs resetting if two outlets are connected. I have that in my kitchen - the bottom plug of one outlet and the top of another close by are on the same breaker and if I use two appliances (convection toaster oven and also a toaster) in those two plugs, will have to reset the breaker. No big deal just sounds scary. (Use separate plugs not connected).

      It’s part of the National electric code.
      Appliances That Require Dedicated Circuits
      Here's a list of the typical appliances that require dedicated circuits. In addition to these, your local building authority may specify additional appliances or equipment that need a dedicated circuit. And the National Electrical Code, which is revised every three years, may also periodically add additional appliances to this list:
      Refrigerator
      Freezer
      Electric range (also cooktop, oven)
      Electric water heater
      Furnace (also heat pump)
      Washer (technically a designated circuit)
      Dryer
      Microwave
      Dishwasher
      Garbage disposal
      Sump pump
      Air conditioner (room and whole-house)
      Bathroom heater (including vent-fan heater units)
      Laundry room receptacles (outlets)
