Ring Modulation is definitely the road less travelled for a lot of musicians out there, me included, and I do have to admit that my first minutes with Radius did leave me scratching my head. But after some time, it became abundantly clear that this pedal is a true treasure-trove for all sound designers out there. Modern modulations, dystopian bells and the sounds of robot armies awakening from their digital slumber, Radius does it all.

Red Panda has such a special ability to take highly technical and esoteric effects concepts, and turn them into a very user-friendly interface that unlocks their musical potential.
I think that's one of the best descriptions I've seen of Red Panda as a brand. I 100% agree! All of their pedals are so inviting to use and so fun to explore.
Tuning and adjustable Pitch tracking on a ring mod makes it so appealing, beyond the special effects. So much potential. Great demo

I have a Particle V2 and like that pedal (and all other Red Panda pedals along with a number of other brands, i suppose), this pedal seems to have a very unique, modern sound at it's core, but you can always turn the dials and reveal the more typical effects associated with the electric guitar (chorus, tremolo, flanger, phaser etc). I think that the "multi-tool" aspect to these pedals is one of the great selling points.
I've always liked ring modulators since I first tried one in the late 70's. Red Panda has really improved this effect by miles. I want one!!! But the price here in Canada is over $500... I may have to look at the alternatives out there. Seems many ring mods are showing up on the market lately. Thanks for the excellent demo.
This is definitely the most comprehensive and versatile ring mod I've tried in my life time, so if it's these kind of features and sounds you're looking for, then it's probably just best to save up for this one. Red Panda does command a fairly high price compared to other stuff, but it's totally worth it. Red Panda pedals are some of the best engineered pedals out there. Really happy you liked the demo so much. And cool to hear you've been into Ring Mods for such a long time :)

I agree... it's probably worth waiting until I can afford a Red Panda. Buying gear has changed a lot. It used to be try before you buy; but with online sales it has become buy before you try. I'd like to compare Red Panda's Radius next to Warm Audio's Ringerbringer in person. Of course videos like yours do help a lot. It's still not quite the same. Thanks again for doing such a thorough job looking at gear. 🎼🎸

Wow! The synth section was some new, innovative stuff, at least for me! I use the ring mod on the GFI Synesthesia for a great tremolo also. You can hear weird flanging or phasing between the pulses :)
Very cool to hear that the synth section gave you some new inspiration :) And yes, the tremolo-like tones you can conjure from a Ring Mod are really special.

I just bought the moog mf-102, this takes what moog did to another level! Especially for synth bass. Might have to grab this pedal too.

An excellent and thoughtful demo as ever, so thankyou Stefan. This feels similar in concept to the SubDecay Vitruvian, which also had a tracking function, though the Radius sounds much sweeter. The Vitruvian had this soft attack which I couldn't get on with. I have to say I'm tempted by the Radius but for now I'm going to stick with very analogue Randy's Revenge. CV control of frequency and a very nice filter, plus it does the lushest trem either. Mind you, the trem on the Radius sounded great. I'm cracking already. Must resist....
The Modulation on the Radius is astounding...It brings it into the stratosphere ..The step sequencer is great..plus it can be changed to smooth transitions as well as stepped too..And those X modulations that Stefan didn't even touch on.. glorious endless glissando sweeps..🤯

I wish I could fit this pedal on my board but I might have to wait and save up for it and aux it into my studio board so I can use it as an external plugin (an oxymoron but I can't think of the right term) that I can use on any track in a mix at any point. Definitely don't have room on my live performance guitar board but I could probably get some cool use on keys with it
WHAT A PEDAL!!! How low does it track pitch? I could easily piture using this on a 6 string bass in drop A amongst other tings! What a pedal! Great video!
Happy you like the pedal and demo. Means a lot! Don't know how low it can track. Only used the tracking on guitar so far. I recommend you try and ask Red Panda about that. They should have the answers :)

A lot of those apps might be discontinued though, as you mention with Hypnotised. I still have them installed on my phone though, so I can still use them. But the closest thing to Hypnotized for iPhone is "Bloom: 10 Worlds". And the closest thing to Hypnotized on Android is called "Skales". Other than that, I use some different synth apps. Moog make some great ones. Their Animoog app is really fun and different. Synth One is a cool synth app as well, and it's free, if I remember correctly. Hope this helps

Great demo for a fantastic pedal ! Radius caught my eye since its release was announced. I've been waiting for a highly tweakable, versatile stereo ring mod in a pedal format for almost 10 years or so ... Red Panda never disappoints ♥ neither do you, Stefan 🙌

I've been using ring mod plug-ins in my DAW, and if this thing also masquerades as a phaser and tremolo, I might just sell my Phase 90 and Boss Tremolo in favour of this.

If that's the pedal that inspires you, then of course it's the most musical. Happy you're enjoying Randy's Revenge. Fairfield always makes good stuff.
this sounds more like a regular mod pedal, not a ring mod.
It can go total chaotic ring mod in lots of different ways.. Stefan mostly highlighted it's more subtle and Phaser/Tremolo effects...
Well, ring mods are capable of really good modulation sounds. Not just robotic disintegration. And this one in particular holds an incredible musical potential due to all the things I highlighted in the video. So I decided for that to be my main focus for the demo. But trust me. It definitely spews circuits if that's what you want it to do, which I also shortly show and allude to throughout the demo :)
Is it time to retire my moogerfooger?
I don't know. You could also just give it a new ring mod partner in crime to play with :)
