This is actually a great demo for Alibre Pro. Seeing this makes me think that I'd like to see a demo video with what Atom, Pro, and Expert can do. Just as a bit of a flex!
P.S. 03:09 Why are there 2 pointers on screen. My mind took a while to compute...

Atom is on one side and Professional on the other to show the difference.

Thanks for the explainer video. Does the subscription license include help desk support?

If you get maintenance with the license, you have top priority helpdesk support.

How comparable are the features in the pro version of alibre to Autodesk Inventor or is the expert version more analogous. The company I work for has been looking for alternatives and I'd like to suggest alibre as a potential solution.

Somehow this comment snuck by me. The pro version will do most things Alibre can do- Expert has some features like custom libraries and sheet metal. There is a list of features available here:

and if I can help further, feel free to reach out.

Onshape has this git type version control where you can create different versions of the same product. Does alibre has that?

The upcoming Version 28 has a PDM release with more of these types of features. Currently, the configuration functionality covers versions of parts.

Can I work with imported meshes? Obj, stl? What options do you offer for reverse engineering. Thanks
Edited: I found a video working with a step file. Very nice. But still I want to know more about meshes for reverse engineering. I do compression molds. Male/female with offsets.

Alibre currently can export in mesh formats such as STL and OBJ, but will not import meshes to date.

@@AlibreLLC any plans to import meshes? That's a deal breaker for us.

@@AlibreLLC also i can export my meshes en step. Do you think it would work? I don't want to use the trial and loose it.

Where the heck has this program been all this time? Never heard of it until recently.

I really want to recommend this to both my UA-cam and Twitter followers but the fact that Atom3D doesn't even allow for two concurrent installations and the archaic license "releasing" procedure really turned me off from doing so.

Interesting- I'd love to learn more about your needs. Are you in a position where frequent license switching or running multiple versions of Alibre is frequent/important?

Alibre's licensing is the one massive thing that got me to buy it in the first place. I pay once for a locally installed software. If I need a newer version, I can pay for it. Otherwise, I can keep using the one I paid for. I love it. In a world where everything is a subscription and you own nothing, actually owning my copy of the software is nice.
