En Livstid I Krig translates to A Lifetime Of War. There is an English version of the song. The song is about the 30 year war, a really long conflict in history during 1618 to 1648. The war transcended multiple generations of soldiers because it went on so long.
A little background on Sabaton. Sabaton is run as a company and they have 100 employees and manage everything themselves, No outsiders to make money from them. They book gigs, they book the arenas they will play in, they manage the ticket sales themselves, book trips, hotel rooms. They also manage all sales of souvenirs, clothes and records. They own 8 trucks that must have everything they need and Sabaton's stage must look like a barbed wire, sandbags and then the top of a tank that the drummer sits on. In addition, Sabaton has a number of buses to drive them in as well as the stage builders and those who will sell things on site. By having Sabaton handle everything themselves, they can keep the price of the concert tickets lower. When they toured around Sweden, a ticket cost 56 dollars, they had some vip tickets for those who wanted to meet the bands before the gig, these cost 65 dollars.
@@5thPhoenix They are under a label. Currently it's Nuclear Blast. Previous ones are Underground Symphony and Black Lodge. They do however manage the band themselves. If I've understood it correctly Pär does most of the heavy lifting regarding this.
@@Tim_Nilsson They have handled business needs internally from the beginning. Par does handle the majority of the business side while Joakim writes the majority of the music and he and Par write the lyrics. One of the interesting stories Joakim has told is the time Par called him at night and said he was bored, was Joakim too busy for a tour. When Joakim said it was not a problem they went on a mini tour in less than a week, playing mostly small clubs in Sweden.
@@5thPhoenix Not sure from the beginning but the best they have done. In the interview, Sabaton said to take care of everything himself so they can continue tuning. They knew bands and artists that have had to shut down, precisely because of everyone who is supposed to be involved and take payment from the bands and the rental of tour buses and trucks. Then the tickets become so expensive that people cannot afford to buy tickets and see artists perform.
Nice reaction, I was at this show (sitting somewhere in the middle of the platform to the left from this view of the stage) Just before this clip started Joakim (the singer) said no one carries around a lighter anymore, but you all have phones right? so turn on your lights for this one. Then at the start, he said totally wonderful, my friends, let's sing together en livstid i kirg. The album Carolus Rex that they had released during this time is about a part of Swedish history called the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from a time when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding. The album was released with both a Swedish and English version, the difference being that the Swedish one tells the story from our/a Swedish soldier's view while the English is more from an outsider's view. They had sold out the arena for this show so we were around 10 766 metalheads (going by fact from online and the newspaper after the show)

This song is from the "Carolus Rex"-album. It comes in 2 different version, in Swedish and English. The songs are not translations, but actual different versions, with different points of view. The album itself is about the Swedish Empire that lasted for about 100 years; The Kíngs and their ambitions, the victories, the defeats, and the suffering caused by all of this. If you are wondering why anyone outside of Sweden should care about this relatively minor Empire from the 1600-1700's, then think of it this way: The final defeat of the Swedish Empire directly lead to the rise of the Russian Empire, as the Swedes were one of the biggest obstacles to the Russian dreams of power. Not saying the Swedes were the good guys, but at least they were way more fair to their subjects. With the Swedish Empire crumbling, the Russians were free to expand toward the Baltic sea (which at the time was dominated by the Swedes). The land on which Russia's Sankt Petersburg is built on was conquered from the Swedes, and the port town became hugely important for the Russians, as for a long time it was their only port into the Baltic sea. The Baltic states of Estonia and Latvia also fell under Russian rule, after also being conquered from Sweden. Ties in a lot with modern history and helps to explain a lot of the relations between the nations of Northern and Eastern Europe. (I'm sure I missed some things, so feel free to add)

Pronunciation of swedish song title: En Livsteed Ee Kreeg😛
Awesome seeing three nice ladies enjoying Swedish metal. ☺ Now watch "SABATON - Uprising (OFFICIAL LIVE)". Please. 😄 That's a live performance if there ever was one...
❤ Oh, I really enjoy watching your videos. But here it seems that you didn't understand the lyrics. This is a very sad song, with a lot of depth, which makes you want to cry. You only see happy faces when someone skips the translation. This is a pity… 😢😮
Tommy unfortunately just left the band actually. They split amicably but he was too busy with his own band and other projects. He has his own band called Majestica where he is an excellent singer in his own right. You should check out there song Above the sky by Majestica.
