The steel corp troopers are speculated to be either a Night Force Steel Corp or a new colored Steel Corp trooper to go with the Haslab Dragonfly kind of like the fire team was for the Haslab HISS
This version of the steel corps trooper looks to be better proportioned than the original male figure. I do believe those are Low Light's legs on the figure. Not sure about the rest of the figure, but if they release a Night Force Steel Corps set with better figures and the same accessories, I will buy several of them!
Somehow the Saw Viper's chainsaw gun is less goofy than the one that came with the original 1990 figure. I liked the Classified Stalker #46 so much I'm happy to get another with the proper camo, I just don't like to display multiple versions simultaneously and the retro is going to win the shelf spot. Excellent video, thanks for showing the original versions!
They are decent looking. But I’m disappointed that Alpine didn’t get a backpack, but Storm Shadow did plus some. Hoping Stalker was getting a much younger looking head sculpt, but not the case.
@@LylesFigureFiles I already found a couple, now waiting on the retro to drop. Believe it or not the McFarlane vintage John Stewart that just came out looks good on the Stalker body. Modify The dumbbell joint a lil bit and Wala. Just give em a mustache courtesy of a sharpie lol Barrett fits too.

Good breakdown. I pre-ordered everything and I’m still all-in on this line. It’s not my favorite mainline wave but it’s solid, imo. People complaining about Alpine not having a backpack, yeah it would’ve been nice but most collectors should have tons of extra backpacks. I think Alpine looks really good with his traditional hat and glasses on, so he’s my favorite from this wave. I think the IG looks really, really good, as well as the IG B.A.T. I’m hoping the SS v2 looks better in hand, I still pre-ordered one, just because I want the complete set. The Retros look awesome to me and I’m the most excited for the Stinger. I hope to get 2-3 of those. I’ll get the MM sets but I like the Spirit/Low Light better than the Sgt.Slaughter.
In regards to the SAW Viper, I think his armor is modular. It looks similar to Tripwire. Love Dial Tone. Finally has all new accessories and tooling. I got all the new wave preordered. Can't wait to get Alpine. Looks like a December release. I love Gridiron's stuff, but their costs are more than the figure they will go to on top of being made from a plastic that can't tolerate direct sunlight before melting. In terms of retro, it seems I will be getting all those too. I will also get the Mad Marauders. I'm gonna be poor....
Ahh. That could be cool for SAW Viper! Thanks! I love that Dial-Tone has a spot for his cell phone. Very nice touch. So, their QC is shaky? That's not great for that price!
Someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong, however, I believe the small, handheld device with Dial-Tone is a directional antenna used to point at the proper azimuths of communication satellites to gain a link and reception for his satellite radio.
Sure. It's a pretty "1980s" piece of equipment and a nice touch for Hasbro to include with him. In practice, he'd point it at the sky and do a slow circle, listening in his headphones for a warbling carrier tone signal to let him know he was pointed at the satellite. Then he'd send a "burst" transmission (message) that his radio compresses into a fraction of a second to hopefully avoid detection and interception from an enemy listening post. Pretty cool 1980s tech.
A little kid could also pretend it's a covert listening device as it also bears a passing resemblance to that also. Used by spys, you would point it at a person having a conversation several hundred yards away and be able to hear what they were saying while listening through a headset and also recording it at the same time.
Pulse traditionally has the least quantity as Hasbro would rather their product sell out over with their retail partners so they keep ordering the lines.
Dude, next time they make a Roadblock, I don't care what outfit they use, but I just want a Season 1 'stache only head. That's my favorite Roadblock and he is my #3 favorite all time Joe, behind Shipwreck and Sgt Slaughter and just ahead of Wild Bill and Bazooka.
They should have made SAW Viper's gun humongous like the original. They could have made it as big as Fiona, put it in the same bigger box as Croc Master, and sold it for a bit more. If they were really smart, they would have made his thumb all stretched out on the brink of breaking (which mine never did...crazy) because the grip and the gun were so big.
Alpine at last! Fans in the Hasbro live chat were wondering why he didn't have a backpack, but I don't think he needs one, but there are people on etsy and gridiron to for that sort of thing I reckon. If people have the extra dough for that, it's all good. I pre-ordered everything today--all four figures + an extra BAT and and extra Grenadier. I'm not in love with the Storm Shadow. I agree about the camo on his mask. It needed to be a random pattern instead of a symmetrical, planned design. I don't like that. The point of camo is to allow for blending into your environment, not for standing out and making a statement area! Stalker is much better in the retro version! I didn't care for the grayer look of his first uniform. The green camo for him is more like the '82 version, and I appreciate that! Agree about the retro cobra trooper. Want the mask to be red! I absolutely LOVE the retro Cobra Commander! The HISS Tank one is great, but THIS is the REAL DEAL to me! An absolute MUST!! I am not a fan of the Marauders, but I think that Spirit's head looks better than the first version to me, and I love the idea of the Navaho headband, so I will think about it. Would love it if his face was sculpted after Kevin Bacon! ;) lol The Stinger, I will try to get, but I don't have a lot of room for it. Guess you gotta make room for awesome vehicles like that! It's odd that Hasbro's first image of it shows a figure beneath the vehicle working on it. That mean that it breaks down all the time?? lol. I reckon Cobra's version is one of those knock-off versions from Hong Kong! lol Nah-- I seriously love it! Hasbro needs to reissue the green Vamp again soon. That would make many people very happy! In my opinion He should of been a deluxe figure and came with a backpack and some more new accessories to go along with all that stuff
I wonder if any of the existing figures has a backpack that would work. Some folks are already eyeing that Grid Iron Studios set to upgrade him.
@@LylesFigureFiles a outback backpack might look good or airborne (actually come to think of it I think they both have the same backpack😂) it’s like a big sack with camping gear ,canteen and a shovel(the tiger force one is a dark brown and would really look good with the blues and greens of alpines uniform) I would assume if he’s carrying a pack it’s with camping & survival gear 🤷🏻 I would of preferred a deluxe figure and they could of given him a zip line or maybe some BASE jumping gear and bring him in the modern era a little and then done a more classic “retro” figure …….im getting him either way lol I been waiting for him for a minute
