- Holbein watercolors are really fun and easy to paint with and I could make swatches and color mixes all day with these paints! I also did a quick and simple ink and watercolor sketch of a café in Penang called Forest Cloud.

Thank you for the good information shared with me concerning different colors.
Cotman are student grade and not the best in their category while Holbein are professional grade. That would be the difference you are seeing between the two. I think Holbein are superb, I like them a lot 😍

As far as saturation of color- the Cotman watercolors, being student grade, have more fillers and less pigment than the professional grade Holbein watercolors. (A fair comparison of like paints would be Winsor and Newton's professional line of watercolors to the Holbein watercolors.)

May I ask what sketchbook you are using? I bought myself the 60 Holbein set for Christmas and I haven't even touched it yet! 😅 I need to get some good quality paper for these paints.
hey there, I am using a sketchbook made in China with the brand Potentate. I like the paper and it’s not expensive too. The 60 Holbein set is huge! Sounds like many hours of fun and experimenting😄🌟
What calligraphy brush are you using …
It’s a quill brush, plenty of art stores online sell them.
I'm pretty good with the paint it's "drawing" that's harder.
Your "simple drawing" isn't simple. It's difficult. 😆
