So let me get this straight: instead of making an awesome Superman game that’s in the same universe as the Arkham games(maybe even a cool superman trilogy. With a little epilogue showing Bruce retired after Knight) or an Arkham origins remastered, they give us this suicide squad garbage? Oh yeah that makes sense lol 😂. Plus Superman’s suit looks really cool in this game & Nolan North does a great job. It’s shame that all of it is wasted on this terrible game.
Who cares about the Suicide Squad? What’s hilarious is that that overrated group have 2 movies and justice league only had one (2 versions of the same plot mind you..)

WB probably forced them to make this specific game to promote Gunns The Suicide Squad (which clearly didn't end up aligning.) Rumors say RockSteady wanted to make a Superman game and WB told them they can't. Granted it's a rumor but it would explain a lot with this game
But I do think they should have gone down a different route than this with the project. Make the League evil clones, or make it not canon to Arkhamverse, and don't retcon Knights perfect ending lol

Let's be real. Everyone would've known it's just batman who faked his death. The first couple of months, sure he would fool them, but how long did you really think that was gonna last? Pretty much. If Rocksteady was still worth a darn, they would’ve had us play as Nightwing or Robin and had them track down the Fear Toxin Batman.

He literally says in the game via hologram that he was born Bruce Wayne but killed him the in mansion and became vengeance he became the knight he became Batman , like how does it just get rid of it .after he blew the mansion he was full time batman and using the fear toxin years later the justice league asked him to join and he joined everyone knows bruce Wayne is Batman but they also know he doesn’t run around as the playboy rich guy anymore he’s just Batman y’all act like he killed bruce Wayne and Batman and just became fear toxin devil bat like no bruh 😂😂 he became full time Batman and scared the shit out of enemies using toxin but normal people I’m sure saw him as just Batman

Batman has a more heroic death in Gotham Knights than in this game.
That is so unbelievably lazy. They just take the interesting open ending of Arkham Knight and go “nah, he just came back offscreen”. It’s not just that it’s disrespectful to Batman: this is just objectively bad writing.
We were all hyped by the fact that no one knew if batman was really dead and what was that thing at the end of Knight for them to bring normal batman back after faking his death to protect his family and friends just for them to make him comeback as a vilain that somehow agreed with the stupid suicide plan of Superman to die against Harley Queen that never won a fight against Batman
And this somehow makes things better? You do realize that Barbara, Jim, Tim, Jason, Dick, and Alfred are now all targets all over again right? Seriously, who approved this?
Guys, let me explain in simple words, Ahem, "Batman did the most UnBatman thing and Rocksteady ruin his perfect ending by becoming something more temerous and dangerous, it's own Legend, but, when an Alien that appeared out of nowhere tell him to join the Justice League, he accepted, althougth he didn't know any of them.", I think that's it.
His "perfect ending" was him making a extremely ooc and stupid mistake of locking up robin when HARLEY could find it not realizing that scarecrow might too and then getting his ID exposed

Besides the fact that the only reason Harley knew about the Movie Studios was because Henry told her and she didn’t tell anyone else. So Batman didn’t think Scarecrow could get the means of discovering the studios.

The Arkham series ended so perfectly with Batman faking his death. This retcon really destroyed my satisfied feeling on putting Batman’s story to an end in Arkham Knight.

This would have been a great starting point for a Justice League videogame. However, it opens a game where 3rd tier Harley shoots down Arkham Batman on a bench.
They could make this work, I had an idea called Batman: Arkham Enigma where Batman faked his death and developed cloaking technology and use of fear toxin to take care of crime while Night-wing formed a team to help Gotham: Cat woman, Tim Drake Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl (Robotic Enhancements) and Azreal (The good ending was canon) the plot would be riddler tasking Batman to his biggest riddles and if he didn’t solve them all he’d nuke Gotham city so Batman does it, the team thinks riddlers crazy and start going after leads to find riddler but find Harley instead they take down Harley but a gunshot is fired and we see The Joker back from the dead then Harley and him flee, later on they find Batman injured after his cloaking gets damaged and explains his case, then an ultimatum is given, solve riddlers final riddle or save Catwomans secret son, so Batman trusts the team to take care of riddler as he goes after Joker who explains Harley snuck out with Lazarus pit containers which is why she shows a terrible reaction to seeing joker dead in Arkham city, then Joker took the time to recover, Jokers plan was to ask him to truly kill him so Batman hesitantly obliges saying “Joker, when you died after you murdered Talia, I was at my worst but whenever you were in my head and I almost became you, I got an understanding of your mind, I saw that you wanted nothing but for me to be like you, well news for you joker, I did, I killed Rahs Al Ghul, i didn’t want to but he left me no choice, kust like you are now, you’ve done so much to this city, but using the pit was the last straw, I’ll kill you today Joker, not because it’s the right thing to do, it’s the only way to stop an immortal being who could outlive any sentence, goodbye Joker, forever.” And he kills Joker then back at the nuke sight riddler is telling them that if Batman doesn’t show up he’ll nuke the city but Batman shows up at the last minute, soon after they get beat by this incredible giant mech, riddler had all most won until the justice league and the bat family stop him, Superman told Bruce he knew he was alive and was waiting till he emerged again and asked him to come to metropolis and become a justice member and help billions more than just Gotham, Batman tells the family that he protected the city so long because that’s what the Wayne family always has done but now with a son and many sidekicks they could protect Gotham from now on as Batman would try to make a bigger impact on the world and then Batman leaves with them until the day brainiac attacked.

The whole point of the Arkham Knight ending is that it implies Bruce faked his death so he could completely devote himself to his mission. Even then it was left ambiguous and open to interpretation. Great job undoing all of that Rocksteady.

I wish there was a game before this where we actually got to see Bruce coming out of hiding and joining the Leauge.
He also should’ve been a secret JL member that the public doesn’t know about so AK’s ending remains intact.
The only thing that redeems this is the fact that Jack Ryder was the one to commentate this, and knowing just how much of a narcissistic liar he is, it’s most definitely exaggerated and taken out of context
So if he decides to join the justice league what's the point of Knight fall protocol..fake his death to create new myth for Gotham then superman and his amazing friend come to batman asked him to join the league ended up killed by Harley in the bench what a waste. Arkham verse should have ended in Arkham Knight
This is easily the biggest issue for me about Batman’s character in this game. I have a strong feeling that the postgame content includes Batman coming back to life as it is basically confirmed but the fact that Batman, the man who has spent his entire life preparing and become a symbol for Gotham would just get up and leave is fucking ridiculous. The point of his character is his dedication to his mission and his mission cannot be changed to the world’s protector. He is always Gotham’s hero no matter what.
This is what happens when shit like representation is more important then storytelling.

Now, what an actually talented writer would have done, was respecting the audience's time and money and their dedications to this story, by giving things some actual creatively tailored background details. And the fact that The Justice League wasn't already a thing all these years off screen. Look at it this way. When you're reading almost any Batman comic, it's like you're in a bubble that consists of Gotham, The Arkham's rogues, the GCPD, and The Bat-family. That's how things usually are. There is no Justice League member cameo. There is no reference to outside news. It's a town surrounded by chaos 24/7 guarded by a giant Bat. That's the story. Period. So when Rocksteady originally approached the Batman Arkham trilogy, that's how they did it. Gotham. Arkham rogues. GCPD. Batman and his Bat-Family. End of story. No cameos. No outside news. No nothing. BUT! But...there were certain eye candies around the map of each game, giving you nice little details to chew on, some little nods to peak your interest in the extended universe that is DC. The Justice League was already well established before Suicide Squad. There were hints. There were Easter eggs. Posters of the members. They could have easily said that yes, there was a League all this time, but since you were playing "Batman", there was no need for you to actually see them, but now that the scope is being broader, now that we got a freaking alien invasion, now you get to see Batman with the rest of the League. Simple as that. Hey, they could have actually used that "pre-established JL" idea to legitimize this whole Batman comeback story. Let's say Everyone in the League has a contingency plan for the day their identity gets compromised. Now let's escalate things further by saying "Knightfall Protocol" in Arkham Knight was Batman's contingency which he thought of years ago and the Leaguers were in on it and helped him design and execute it perfectly, also getting rid of the evidence left behind to make sure the wrong things wouldn't fall down into wrong hands. And they mentioned The Watchtower in this thing as well, that could have been where Batman would go to take shelter. He could always teleport himself to anywhere he wanted as well, taking on the criminal element with his "Bat Demon" persona, and vanish into thin air at any given moment via the Watchtower teleportation system. But Nope! The NEW Rocksteady is too lazy to actually come up with this stuff!
I don’t know what’s disappointing? The fact that this undermines the ending of Arkham knight or that this presents a much more interesting game than whats being played right now!

I don't buy it. Batman already faked his death in the comics even putting another corpse in his place as everyone knew during the Darkest Night events. That one there is not Bruce Wayne for me as far as I know. It could be a double or a mimicker or even a clone of sorts
Wtf??? What a shit way to undermine the whole point of Arkham Knight’s ending. The whole point he faked his death was to not only keep the people he cared about safe from all of his remaining enemies but also because the criminals needed a new fear since everyone found out who Batman’s true identity was. Him coming back and joining the league puts all of the people he cared about in danger and the criminals don’t fear him anymore.
They managed to retcon Arkham Knight in 30 seconds in the worst way possible - the only possible justification for Batman taking up the mantle again after destroying Wayne manor to bury his legacy, is that the threat of the Justice League was too severe for him to ignore, but the issue with that is that he has Nightwing and Oracle to handle the superhero affairs for him.
Grayson may not be as intelligent or rich as Bruce, but Bruce could have easily acted as a shadow donor for him, instead of Bruce moving shack to Metropolis.

This is non-canon, sorry. I'm okay with Elseworlds stories and having some fun, but man I will not accept that this is a true sequel to Arkham Knight. I wouldn't be surprised if Rocksteady changes their minds and retcons this game or makes a DLC that returns things to the status quo. That said I haven't played the whole game through yet but I will eventually.
