@@chengbros6101bro I was sparring with a dude that basically only threw hard jabs and I would take 3 power rights to the bridge of my nose over that shit holy hell 😂
Watching Hearns in his fight, it actually looks like they didn't exaggerate the hitman style enough. Hearns would throw out his flicker jab, ELBOW first and he threw it out so fast that his opponent couldn't make use of the tell. That's not something you see very often. It was such a rampant deviation from the textbook that it sounds stupid writing it. The only other instance of someone doing something so "wrong" and said mistake helping them that I know of is Manny Pacman. Dude would constantly overreach and come off the ground throwing with a bad base. This punching form early in his career allowed him to stay on the outside against taller fighters. Mashiba isn't as big of a rule breaker as Thomas Hearns. Hearns also threw a baseball pitch style chopping right disguised by throw away jabs and Mashiba's chopping right looked textbook crisp and clean.
I don't know about the first hien (the change of punch mid air) but the second one (the guard break) is effective I have used it in kick boxing sparring
The hien is nothing more than an educated left. You can watch plenty of boxers work off the jab with variation. Hooking off the jab, body blows, uppercuts, etc. it’s just working off the jab
It is literally very realistic and is literally only for scoring points spoiler hjnippo spoiler volg used it for a whole round smacking someone with hien and it didn't really even do any damage at all but he got the points for the round.
That's just a more realistic version of it. Instead of your arm being in the same place, its already extended so you don't have to do the work. That's how Hearns used it a lot
got to be more relaxed for faster punches its a lot more realistic thats how hearns looked like when fighting mashiba just looks like mayweather with his philly shell
George Morikawa was a boxer and worked as a second for boxers before he opened his own boxing gym, I believe its safe to say that he knows a little bit more about boxing than you.
I don't really know boxing, so I'd like to know: When comparing Mashiba and Hearns, the images are definitely very similar but; Mashiba has a more exposed body and higher guard on his right, compared to Hearns' more compact body guard with his right under his chin. How would this impact their fights? As in, like, clearly Hearns' head at first appears more open than Mashiba's, likely relying on his height to dodge headshots from smaller opponents; whereas Mashiba is shown to have somewhat of a weak chin, and so his higher guard may expose his body more but also gives away his weakness. I don't know, again not really knowledgeable about boxing - just curious about the differences these minute details communicate about a real boxer versus a fictional character.
As someone with pretty much the same build, I am thankful I was born with long arms because I’m more of an out boxer than an in-boxer, so distance and arm length is everything to me, but the Hitman style isn’t my thing, I’m more of a southpaw-naseem type of guy
It s accurate but i mean mashiba s hand is ridiculously down, and it s always like this, not like hearns who used he s other arm to protect more he s body, he wasn't always swinging he s arm from very low
@@CrimsonHYPE That doesn't mean it's 100% realistic. The styles used in UBG were based off of how they were used by the characters in Hajime No Ippo. You are NOT hitting someone halfway across the ring like UBG Hitman, you are NOT swaying parallel to the ground like UBG Hawk, and you are NOT speeding around someone like UBG Chronos. I say this as someone who plays UBG almost daily, the most realistic styles in that game are Hands Low, Basic, and Ghost.
Early manga designs were really wild, a lot of them ended up changing and the updated designs are used in the anime. Like, early Kamogawa used to look like a California Raisins reject with a fishing hook stuck to his forehead.

The creator of Hajime no Ippo is actually a boxing coach I think (and I'm pretty sure he has an ippo boxing gym too)
He is a corner man, owns his own boxing gym, and he was also a boxer himself at one point.
