My intro to your music on your old channel were the vids where you really broke down a lot of the Stones stuff. Sometimes you just riff along with a song and have fun, which is cool, but on those you really put in time and have a keen ear. A lot of YT lessons/covers of those songs have errors or are just plain wrong, but you really broke those songs down into the different guitar parts and tunings and presented them in a really clear way. I just wanted to let you know how much your dedication and ear to those (and all the others) was appreciated, and it’s good to hear you blaze through this one again. Thanks!
It's amazing how steady/consistent your right hand is throughout this song! No matter how "staccato" the riffs might be, your right hand does the same thing through 90% of the song. Feel free to give me the secret sauce, because practice isn't getting me there fast enough!
Another spot on song and love the Gibson. Thanks for the post JJ you alway give me a song or two to work on a week so I appreciate all you have done for me .✌🏻
Lot of controversy about capo or no capo on this one. But those hammer ons in the D shape sound seem to suggest a capo. Sounds dead on to me JJ. Thanks for posting this one again
Yeah the Capo is definitely it. It seems like the late 60s to the early 70s, Keith was using a lot of Capo. Standard tuning Capo on the 7th for Midnight Rambler, open G and Capo on the 4th for Tumbling Dice, and so on. That Trinity of albums, Let It Bleed, Exile, and sticky fingers, was Keith at his most creative with alternate tunings and Capo use.
hey James, am a big fan of yours and usually try to learn songs through you. I am a massive Stones fan, such as yourself and really like that you cover some great but not so popular songs such as Jigsaw puzzle and the rest. Can you sometimes make a lesson or cover from I Can't Get No Satisfaction - New York MSG 1969 version with the great Keith sound and guitar play. I think thats probably the best version of that classic and seems like Keith is playing it little differently. Cheers and great channel, both od them (think you are also Privvet but could be wrong)
The ES-345. A spectacular guitar made famous by BB, Chuck, and none other than Marty McFly! Marty's had an aftermarket Bigsby though. Plus that guitar, or humbucking pickups for that matter, were not yet invented yet in 1955. When I watch Back To The Future I always have to mention that and everyone looks at me like I'm an alien.
When Keith plays the lick with the pinky on the 3rd string 9th fret, he leaves the ring finger anchored on the 4th string 8th fret. You can see it in this live clip: ua-cam.com/video/KOIqauJ3_WU/v-deo.html
James is a bad man. We are not worthy. James Brown Jagger Richards on guitar here. He make his guitars scream sway and swagger. If his guitars were dancers. He would be back stage in the dressing room playing them all at will. Depending on his mood and tone.
the majority of the stone songs for the most part where in standard tuning prior to the sticky fingers.. whole pile of Tunes coming off of this album where in standard tuning just utilizing the capo. it wasn't till about through the ya ya yas into sticky fingers when Keef would rip off that low E string on the top and start playing the hell out of open G.
Ah thank you sir, I think I’ve learned every stones song I know from your videos, as a 16 year old kid, I can’t get enough of this stuff, keep em coming my friend
I don’t know what he used on the recording (maybe the Maton hollowbody?), but it sure sounds like it had humbuckers. But you’re right, Keith made everything sound good on a Tele.
@@jamesjames9275 Yeah I'm not sure on the recording either, but saw Keith play the song live and he was playing with the "Micawber" and it had the same tone as the studio recording. I Always assumed he recorded the track with a Tele. A little brighter sounding than humbuckers on a Gibson
Have always wondered how Keith came up with this discordantly ugly perfect chording - i'm guessing he picked up a standard tuned guitar thinking it was in an open tuning?
The best ears in the world award goes to James James. Period.
Now that's a kick-ass song. And you have it dead on. Thanks for another great session 👍✌
I can't believe Keith can still play that with his clubbed fingertips 😳
Very good A+++ 😊✌🏆 Thanks for sharing
(he can't) 🙂
@@linnvaveon8984yeah seems like Ron took over older Keith's more challenging leads
Stay with us Keith.
I found this other site......it was 12 years old..... fantastic!

❤️
Awesome rhythm guitar work. Keith at his finest, really. When rhythm playing is better sounding and more difficult than lead. Great job JJ.
Absolutely brilliant 👏👏
Picks and Pucks your the best, keep em coming .
Great work! Thanx for keeping the R&R Classics alive!
smiled through the whole song - loved it
Gotta be one of the coolest intros of all time.
Brilliant as usual, awesome tone too
The best orchestral break in any rock song - an out-of-body experience - and you know Keith has been near-dead more than a few times.
thx james for your work
Love this
I saw them do this live at MetLife stadium with my dad. Unreal

J harrisMSU might sound like nonsense, but I found that grooving my shoulders does the trick
Nailed it!!! Great tone
This channel always makes my night
Well played, sir. My favorite stones' song...and you nailed it. That was great!
One of my faves
This one of my longtime favorite songs and you play it well. Stones at their best. Thanks
Wow. Nailed it. Thanks.
That's Class That 🔥 🎸
Subtitled: How to make something look much easier than it is. Wow.
Another spot on song and love the Gibson. Thanks for the post JJ you alway give me a song or two to work on a week so I appreciate all you have done for me .✌🏻
Get playing...your lessons are superb as well. Thank you for your posts

James , always look forward to your lessons!!! And go Caps !!
Just grabbed tickets for the Toronto show even tho I hate them live ( I just watch keef and Ronnie and when Stevie was around thanks JJ Godbless
Bravo!
I’ve been listening to Monkey Man a lot lately thinking James ought to play it. Thank you!
Keith's playing on this tune is killer.
That's a gorgeous guitar.
You nailed this one, sounds awesome!!
Stones was gonna play in my town tomorrow...til mick got sick...still got my ticket waiting!!
All about feel; dude you got it!
Great job, nailed it.
Brilliant!!
Splendid Mate !
Love this song

Thanks, but I’m retired now.
Fantastic, thanks!
great as usual!!!!!
What a great song - your style of teaching / playing makes it easy for mediocre players like me to pick up some great tunes. Thanks.
Makes a great ring tone too for my mobile telephone...lol

Man U Just Smoke All Of These Tunes
Can't wait to try this one. Great right-hand technique and, uh, go Canes!! ;)
Perfect cover per usual! Also, love the jersey!
Soul
So bad ass. I actually like this version the most
I learned this from you years ago on your other channel!
Another great 'deep' Stones cut. Thanks much, James.
Go HABS 2020. :)
I love it
James James diggin’ the 345TDC!
Perfect as usual, thank you! When you use your pinky at the 9th fret, which strings do you fret?
Thx for the lesson
What did Brian Jones play on this song?
He’s not on this. He’s barely on the album at all.
@@jamesjames9275 Very well done . Wayne was great too.
Know him?
nice
sounds right on. I always thought this song was in an open tuning, but I guess not. Time to try it for myself.
Well. You fucking killed that man.
What kinda capo is that??? Great song great demo..
Showww👍👍👊👊👊👊
Never clicked so fast.
Nice!
I'm gonna say the studio version from Let It Bleed must have had a capo
Cool guitar...very nice song...I always wondered how Keith was doing it...any special tuning?
standard with the capo in the second fret nothing else
je me demande si il a la bonne guitare 🎸 ??? . 🇲🇨
I tried to play guitar when I was a kid, but my fingers wouldn't fit into all those little places. 🤪
I,m a little behind, currently working on the 2015 stuff. I think I know where your recent accelerated output stems from but it"s killing me.
Hey let’s go Carolina am I right?
Do the 4 stars over the "capitals," name signify anything?
I assume you replaced your black 335 for that model
Yep.
Great tune bro! Is it standard tuning?

not anymore . . .
One of those rare Stones songs in standard tuning.

Standard
..I'm a cold Italian pizza!!!
fucking a!
Standard tuning?
Its Murkzz- Yes.

Sounds Great dude. The Tone would have sounded a bit better on a Tellie IMHO. Not that your Gibson isn't a badass guitar.

Go pens 🐧🐧🐧 good video but I'm not happy with the jersey
Yeah, you can take Keith's place.
Well, no one can. But we can all try to imitate The Great One. :)

Standard tuning
Nice!
