So good! My question is: how to get a stylist to cut your hair ‘younger’ than your age! No matter what pics or ideas I share, I end up with a mom cut. 😀

My experience as well. I changed my hairdresser because she simply wouldn't cut any style except the 'old woman' rubbish. I know a great cut when I get one because I lived in Europe for years and had marvellous stylists.

I’m one of those who went natural gray (white) at age 58 during Covid after dying my hair ash brown/blonde every 3 weeks since I was in my 20’s. Used the Olaplaex oil to help from frying my hair, and treatments, took 2 dye jobs a month apart to strip all the brown out, and then mixed a couple ice/ blonde colors to get it to the color of my roots and let it grow out naturally from there. Could see there was still a few brown hairs left that then gave me that natural highlights I always wanted. Yes, at 61 I’m embracing my natural color, and I get more compliments on my white shiny hair than I ever did when I colored it. It’s so much healthier now and I can actually grow it past my shoulders for once without having split ends all the time. Yes, I researched the internet and youtube for a good year, until I felt confident enough to go for it. No regrets!

I love this comment ❤ good on you for embracing your natural colour, I'm 39 with grey hair coming & it's right on my middle/side parting where it shows the most 😂 I'm not ready to embrace it yet but one day I will. My mum is 78 & still dyes her hair so she ain't ready yet either 🤣

Did you have to maintain the ice blonde color during the grow out process? Very curious because I want to grow mine out too but can’t seem to find a grow out technique that will work.

I used a HLA (high lift ashblonde) color by Age Beautiful, and I remember it was most important to use a TONER after. It was all about this! I mixed maybe 2 colors between a T10-T18 by Wella Charm, and I did a test spot before doing my whole head. I bought the Olaplex 0, 1, 2, &3, for building strength and not frying my hair. Lots of UA-cam research shows how just adding a little bit of the oil to the toning or coloring process helps. Used the Olaplex treatments between that 1 month between doing another HLA coloring process and then the toner treatment w/Olaplex. This 2nd process is what really lifted the rest of the color out and got me to my whitest natural root color. Then I let it grow out from there with no grow out lines. I’m not a licensed cosmetologist, but an online DIYer using UA-cam videos. Wrote the info down that I found helpful and saved a few videos to watch a few times over. I still have alot of extra product left over since after the 2 dye/tone processes I didn’t need to do it again.

I started growing my grey during the pandemic and I’m thankful I stuck with all the awkward stages of it growing out. After about 6 months my stylist did low lights in my medium brown/ grey hair and it hid that stark line I had . I only had to do this twice, there were definitely times where I wanted to give up but I kept going. You just have to own it, I’m very confident in my grey hair, it’s so soft and I have so many different tones running through it. I get compliments all the time, best decision I have made!

I had Psoriasis on my scalp for years. I started using a Sulfate free shampoo, and it completely cleared up. So many people ask about the transition between dark hair and going natural silver. I am 51 years old and went through the transition seamlessly in my mid-30s. I used temporary hair color. I, using DIY at-home temporary hair color, kept up coloring my hair with my normal dark color until all of my roots were grown out and then I just stopped coloring it. The dark faded away to my natural silver hair all grown out. It is actually not difficult at all.

Love both of you😊 definitely enjoy you both together. I went through chemo & and menopause all at the same time, not exactly ideal or fun, but it was quick, 8 month and done. To all you grey growers just get past 3 months, is it worth it? Depends if you like it, if you don’t just color it. It’s definitely healthier and cheaper, sometimes… I spend a whole lot on products to keep it healthy, including styling tools. It’s definitely a mind change, Gabi & Justin are correct, nobody even notices the way they did pre Covid.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you that if you're taking Calcium supplements you really NEED to be taking vitamin K-2 along with it, otherwise the calcium Will build up in your arteries & may set you up for a stroke or heart attack. K-2 makes sure that the calcium from your food & supplements makes it into your bones where it belongs, and not clogging up your arteries. Please note that Vit-K, & Vit-K2 are Not the same. You body NEEDS Both, but only K-2 gets the Calcium into your bones.
Also magnesium is also Super important to take along with all of the above aforementioned supplements that you're taking. They all work synergistically. Magnesium is Crucial for a plethora of metabolic functions in the body.

I use basic curl gel like garnier fructose (purple green bottle) I don’t fully rinse my conditioner out , then put my hair loose in a towel, I warm up a quarter sized gel in my hand and spread my fingers and gently hand comb through my hair. I then take a wide tooth comb and comb it out. Then I lay on belly /chest down on my bed with just my head hung over the edge with hair hanging towards the floor and diffuse it upside down! My hair got so damaged back in June, so bleach blonde was not a great option anymore… I dyed it dark Brown again (level 3/4) and it kept breaking 😅 So, executives decision was to not touch it for a while and focus on repair and moisture. I had to cut a bit off to balance it, but it works. I took inspiration photos of Gaby to my stylist, actually 😉 You were very kind when I asked you on Instagram. ❤ There are some silver strands now when it grows, so I find that moisture, oils and protein balance works wonders to make it look good enough. Blenda well enough for now and I have about 9-10 cm growth by now. I think I have to leave it alone about a year, so we’ll see how I like the salt in my brown 😅

Interesting info about red hair color. My daughter and I have been red for at least 5 years. One thing we have noticed is so much depends on the brand of color that is used. Redken was very drying/damaging for both of us and faded terribly (I can use Redken styling products though without a negative impact). The stylist we are going to now is a redhead herself and is considered a specialist dealing with red hair coloring. She uses All Nutrient, a less toxic/chemical line and it has been the best by far. She also washes our hair with a clarifying shampoo prior to applying color she swears this helps with the color grabbing better and it does seem to help. We also wait at least 3-4 days to wash after getting it colored. I have switched to using most all All Nutrient products and my hair is in the best condition its been in years. Hi gabi .I have been having what Justin has advised regarding changing from dyeing dark brown for years and now after gradually having highlights my hair is starting to look gorgeous.especially when in the sun the goldy highlights really pop..I due for another salon treatment and to have my hair trimmed into my BOB which suits me..I will be 70 next year..I'm a younger looking granny. My husband is 9 years younger than me and he thinks I look gorgeous..Jane fro Australia....

It is not because of Co-v, but because of your attitude, drive and hard work that you were able to make lemonade out of lemons. That is a worthwhile takeaway. It is ok to give yourself credit there because it is inspirational. Sometimes the opportunity God gives us through our prayers is by our attitude and willingness to pick ourselves up and out.

I have been in my new city for 13 years and I still have not found someone I am happy with, especially for us ladies with short hair that does not a old woman’s style, even if I,am. 71 years old. Thanks, this was great! I'd love to see something like this again! It's a bit difficult for me to find time to watch long videos sometimes, but I get through them eventually. I watched this one in three sections! 😂 The info on silicones was really interesting and I'd love to hear more about that. How does a person know if they have that buildup or if it's something else going on? I also have very hard water, not rust, but calcium and lime, so I'm definitely going to check out that shower head filter! I've been needing one of those for a long time!

Both of you are just amazing 🥰 , thank you so much for this video as well as your regular content 😍. Now I´ll go to amazon and shop a water filter for my shower! Can´t believe I don´t have one already (I´ve thought about it but didn´t think it would work) as we do have VERY hard water in Milan and I use filters for everything else. Will also maybe reconsider the schampos I´m currently using as I started using organic solid schampos this year, kind to the environment and health but not professional schampos so not sure they don´t contain products that might create negative build-up in the hair. I have problems with itchy scalp lately, so for that I´m now using pharmaceutical schampos.
