Bunmi had an obstruction and passed away after the surgery. Obstructions are more urgent and serious than gut stasis. If your bunny stops eating suddenly, there's a chance they may have an obstruction and should not be force fed or given motility medication until an obstruction is ruled out with blood tests and x-rays. A bunny with an obstruction may undergo a decompression procedure to help release the obstruction. If not successful, surgery is required to remove the obstruction.

This happened to my loved bunny and i still cant move on 😢
I’m so sorry for you loss I lost my bun earlier on this month I was getting her spayed and she didn’t make it through the surgery 😢 she was such a sweet little girl who would lick my face all the time unfortunately her tiny heart just couldn’t take the aesthetic it’s hard because they have such a high chance of cancer and I was doing the right thing for her

This is heartbreaking. I just wanted to say thank you. I know it’s hard losing someone so close to you. Words can’t describe the feeling of this. But I want you to know that Bunmi had one of the best lives that any bun can live. She knows how much she was loved. And we can see this even just through your videos, the amount of effort, care, attention, enrichment and joy that your rabbits receive everyday is amazing. Even if Bunmi’s quantity of life wasn’t long, I’m sure it was the best quality life, and she wouldn’t have a changed a single thing.
She will be loved forever. And for you guys, things will get better. Hope you’re doing ok!

Sobbing. I came here from your bonding videos which have been helping me the last few weeks. I didn’t know that sweet girl was gone. That final video shows how she had absolutely everything she could ever need. A safe home, human and bunny friends who love her, tasty treats, and an enriched interesting environment. You did right by her. She will be adored forever.

i’m so sorry. my rabbit recently passed after cpr while closing after sudden GI stasis and liver lobe torsion surgery, and my rabbit before that got the sniffles and died minutes later. they are more than rabbits and losing them is gut wrenching. it has honestly been so traumatic for me, but the joy of caring for and loving a rabbit will always outweigh the grief. thank you for this beautiful video 🤍

I am so sad to hear of Bunmi's passing. I am struggling to find the words to write. We lost a bun over a year ago and to this day I miss his sweet presence. All I can say is with each passing day, you will feel a little better but the pain of losing such a loving companion never really goes away fully. And in some ways, it is good that it doesn't go away because it reminds us to continue our lives each day with greater compassion and kindness to others so that we can honor the memory of the companion we lost. Needless to say, please take care of yourself, your family, Turbo and the new bun.
Sorry to hear about your loss, and discouraged that your still missing him. We lost our little guy 3 weeks ago, and I never imagined I could be so attached to him and devastated by his sudden passing. I hope after a year I'm not still missing him so much.
I don't want to replace him. So I watch bunny videos and getting attached to Bunmi through videos is painful now to hear of her passing.
You are right though, losing a bunny helps us live each day with greater compassion and kindness to others. Maybe that's their purpose!
So hard. We lost our female lop in surgery - not uncommon, rabbits are fragile. It really destroyed us. It takes a lot of time to find peace when they go like this. You did everything you could. She had a great life. 💔💔💔

I couldn’t agree more . When one of our pet ratties lost her companion, even though I was heart broken , I couldn’t be heartless to leave the other rattie to go through grieving all alone , since human company can’t really replace the animal one , especially for social creatures like little critters …

I'm heartbroken for you all. My sweet girl also was promoted to Heaven Sept 23 2021. I also tried to care for her at home n overnight because so many times in past it worked and we lost our battles too. Each bun is a special treasure. I write my daughter letters from our Bellarena and that's how we cope. May Jesus comfort you and thanks for the courage to share your grief with the world. We empathize and understand.

Today (September 12) marks a year ago that my bunny Fur'ocious first got sick with stasis and I took him to the 24 hour Blue Pearl ER. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday. I did not find out until later that there were no exotic vets there on weekends. So my sweet Fur'o was left with a vet who was inexperienced with rabbits. I did not know this until the next day when I was told the exotic vet wasn't there yesterday (Sunday) but would be in around 1:00 p.m. So much time lost. A few more horrible things happened and my sweet Fur'o left me on September 15. I was on the way home after being assured he was fine and recovering. But then 20 minutes later, as I pulled into my neighborhood, they called to ask me if they should continue CPR (which I had requested if it came to that... never thinking it would). I could barely think. After asking if he had been in pain and would return to pain if they brought him back and what his chances for survival were, I had to make the almost incomprehensible decision to let him go. My little boy left me at only 2.5 years old. MORAL OF THIS STORY: find a emergency veterinarian that actually has an exotic vet on call 24/7.
I lost my previous Rabbit and Turbo looks like her twin she was a Holland Lop she died around Christmas time in either 2012 or 2013 my senior year of highschool she was staying with a friend of mine while I was in foster care at the time so I wasn't able to say goodbye to her or spend much time with her I miss her so much I'm getting two Holland Lop sisters I orginally was getting 3 but sadly one passed away on New Years day she was the runt of the litter so it just was affecting her health and it was freezing and the heat went out where they're currently staying I'm getting everything ready for the other two and I can't wait to have them they just turned 7 months old on the 9yh I'm so glad I found your channel youve helped me a lot and I love seeing Turbo since he reminds me so much of my previous Rabbit look wise I'm so sorry for your loss Bunmi is precious

I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved Bunmi and how much she lived you. My heart hurts fir you and I pray you find comfort in her memory. It took me almost a year to look at photos of my bunny....and I still can't look at videos. But I know this....there is a Heaven and our fur babies are all there waiting for us.
Turbo reminds me of our bunny. I don't know if I can even watch this video about Bunmi. Our bunny suddenly died from pneumonia just 3 weeks ago, and it's still too painful. I've watched Turbo and Bunmi on your other videos, and I don't want to hear that Bunmi has passed away. That's too heartbreaking!

I am so sympathetic for your loss. I have unfortunately been there. I lost my Punky after and oral abscess surgery and cut that the surgeon did in the back of her mouth. She never fully recovered and continued to decline. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I ever did. It never gets any easier. You gave her such a wonderful life and she was so loved and she is with you in your heart and spirit forever!! Sending you hugs!! 🤗🙏💔❣

I just lost my little Henry 28 days ago. My little boy was a dwarf Holland lop, 4yrs old, taken from me way too soon.
Nothing can prepare you, nothing can describe the grief you go through, the guilt you feel, that maybe if you had done something, anything different, maybe they might still be here today.
But as yet, we don't live in a world that can appreciate their gift to us. Or the time, education, humanity, and support needed to provide for them in all the right ways. They are such perfect little spirits, offering nothing but unconditional love. Once I heal from my broken heart, I want to find a way to help. I want us all to pull together as a community. Through channels like yours, we can continue to grow and build awareness, and provide the foundation for a strong, long, healthy, and happy, future for bunnies in society today. The more pet bunnies there are, the more of a need for veterinary schools to accept their responsibility in advancing research and technology to train and educate vets properly. Yet I know that the more pet bunnies, there are, the more people need experienced bun parents' advice. In my case, it wasn't the vet, he was supposed to be one of the best around. I believe it was due to my little Henry being left in the care of staff who didn't know how to take care of him properly. In this case, the vet should have made sure his staff knew what they were doing. I shall have another bunny one day. But the grief is real! Currently, it's been 28 days, and I'm only able to clean around his favorite little spots he liked to spend time in our home. Each day is a little better than the day before, but it will never be quite the same.❤🩹

My heart breaks for you there are no words for this kind of loss, we lost our 2nd rabbit Walter due to him going for his sterilization and sadly he just never woke up from the anesthesia. I know Bunmi will be missed greatly and I hope that you and Turbo do better as time goes on, nothing can replace the loss of a furry friend but sending as much support as possible ❤️ 💙 ♥️ 💜
I teared up while watching this. Bunmi had the best bunlife possible and was clearly loved. i wish you so much strength, losing a loved one is always horrible, no matter if human or animal companion. i hope turbo will get along with his new companion as much as he did with bunmi and that he can move on with his grief soon so he'll be happy and healthy again.
I work at a vet clinic and GI stasis is one of the few things that when we get a patient with it, you can really feel everyone from the staff get super tense. It goes downhill so fast and out of nowhere, its absolutely unpredictable- even for professionals and with treatment. it really terrifies me at work and as a bunny owner myself. i'm so sorry you had to experience this. but from a professional point of view let me tell you that you did absolutely everything and beyond that you possibly couldve done to help. gi stasis is just a horrible condition like that. bunnies' fragile gut system and its risks made me have doubts about wanting bunnies again after my current buns. although i love bunnies with all my heart, my heart just breaks at all the sudden deaths of buns that i see both online and irl.

I lost my sweet Pancake just 2 weeks ago. He was so young and it was so sudden. Thank you for sharing your grief. It helps. I’m just starting the bonding process with his surviving sister. She needs bunny companionship, I’m no substitute, although I try.

No so sad such a nice bunny. I have 9 buns and it’s my worst nightmare to lose a bunny. I’ve had some I found I couldn’t save and it tore me up. I tried to help one with a broken jaw but he was too far gone and I had to put him down because his pain was gonna be too much unless he had his jaw removed.
I have hope that if I continue to set the lord Jesus as my number one love that there will be a day when we inherit the earth without the curse of death/pain. I hope the lord brings back my animals I worked so hard to love and. Protect and who loved me so we can live for eternity with the lords presence and never suffer heartbreak again in a word with no sin.
You ever read the rainbow bridge poem? I gave it to a girlfriend years ago before she passed away when her dog died. It’s not biblical I wasn’t a Christian at the time but it’s sweet and very hopeful to someone who just lost a beloved pet.

wow we just went through the same exact thing a few weeks ago and your new bunny Jelly looks exactly like our Winnie that we lost. It was such a shock to find out there was nothing that could be done about her obstruction, it all happened so fast. I'm going through all your bonding videos right now trying to figure out how to make it work between our boy Oliver and the new female we just brought home. Our last pair was bonded for us through a rescue and they were like little soulmates. I'm really nervous to be doing this ourselves this time around.
