@@toohottohandle0_0 I have a Galaxy Tab A 2017! Watching videos just now as I looked at Galaxy tablets in late 2021, and this might be a good upgrade for me, haha! I like the idea of an S-pen because I have arthritis in my LH and RH thumbs which flares up occasionally and writing with a real pen is a bit hard at times.
I bought my S6 Lite 2022 Edition (WiFi+LTE 128GB ROM/4GB RAM) last March 2023 for around $275. I mainly use it for my digital drawing hobby and I'm happy with its decent specs and performance. If you're someone who's looking for a multimedia tablet to use for digital art and you're on a budget then the S6 Lite 2022 model is a good option. It comes with an S-Pen that uses pen pressure technology so you can draw thin or thick lines on the fly and more. Other multimedia tablets in the same price range that also have pen pressure technology you need to separately purchase a special stylus that is priced probably between $50-100.
Yes, it released with Android 12. Honestly, I can't guarantee how long they will support this tablet. It's very confusing. Normally they do give a lot of support on their tablets, including to mid-range tablets. BUT this is a "refresh" of an older tablet so I don't have any confirmation on how long they plan to support it.
i got this for my sister for her to use in lieu of a notebook for college and so far its been great. especially now since they're $250 at many stores. the S pen is super useful and I prefer writing wth it (I also have a tab s9 for myself) much more than the Apple Pencil lol. its also cool how they still kept the headphone jack and sd card for this. the speakers arent half bad either. for a student id say this is a MUCH better value than those e-notebook things that don't cost that much less than this
@@davik9003 - I am glad to see all the positive comments for this tablet. I decided to get this Tab S6 Lite 128 GB variant for my husband to replace a Kindle which he has been using for about 3-4 years. I know this Samsung tablet will be a great upgrade, especially with the S-Pen which is included. The Tab S6 Lite was still on a good sale at Best Buy for $250 for the 128 GB variant. But to be honest I saw the Galaxy Tab S9 FE - 10.9" on sale for $400, regular price $450 - and I am wondering if I should have gone for this slightly better and newer model instead. I figure that he will be using the new Samsung for a few years, so maybe getting a newer tablet with better specs might be worth it over time. Then again, many of the comments here indicate that this S6 Lite is a really good tablet for those of us who will be using it for E-books, basic games, not high level gaming, and web browsing, and it may not be necessary to get the better version. Can you tell I am driving myself crazy with this decision? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I bought my Samsung Tab S6 Lite 64 GB (One UI Version 5.1, Android version 13) on sale last year for less than $250. I use this tablet at home for email, text messaging, internet browsing and watching UA-cam videos. The main attraction for me is having the speakers located on the left and right sides of the tablet when it is in landscape mode. These two speakers are adequate for general listening and a Bluetooth speaker can also be used. My main problem with this tablet is that the power button is located too close to the speaker volume controls. I sometimes accidentally turn off the tablet when attempting to adjust the speaker volume. Other than that, I have no complaints.
After I posted the above comment, I remembered an annoying problem that I am having with my Tab S6 Lite. Please see if you or one of your colleagues has a solution to this. I have just made a new comment here today which outlines this problem. Thanks again.
But you have no problems with the wifi range? For me wifi range is a big drawback. Wherever in my house the signal is gong or weak on the s6lite, there is no problem with my android phone or my portable pc.
I got mine the other week at Walmart for $249. For the price I'm happy with it. I can confirm that I have the 732 chipset, and performance is satisfactory for my use (watching movies and UA-cam, reading digital manga/comics, browsing the web, etc.). I do wish they made an updated version of the Galaxy Tab S5e, as I'd happily trade the Spen and Samsung Dex (neither of which I ever use) for an Oled screen and quad speaker setup. I've had a number of tablets over the years and overall that was my favorite.
I hear you! I loved that tablet too. I did have a weird wifi issue though, that happened in every single model I tried. The wifi would drop if you held it by the corner, even if it didn't drop, you would lose maybe 20% of your wifi. So it wasn't noticeable to most people. But outside of that, it was one of my favorites. The OnePlus Tab is a good alternative, it's not OLED but the screen is better, $480 for that tablet new, but if it goes on sale, it's got a 120hz refresh rate, and it's a little better overall than the S6 Lite. And the Pixel Tab will be interesting for $500. But for $250 that's still a good steal you have
@@AndroidDigest I looked at both the OnePlus Tab and the Pixel Tab, but both are going the Apple route and have limited storage with no expandability option. I don't mind having a lower internal storage (since I don't really use/download many apps), but I need the ability to have a higher storage limit for the media I keep on my tablet. This one issue makes both of these non-starters for me.
Here's something I just discovered by accident on my Samsung Tab S6 Lite that may not be in the owner's manual. When the tablet is off, I can give the screen two quick taps and the intro wallpaper appears just as it does when the ON/OFF button is pressed. Next, I swipe the screen to the right, enter my PIN and the home screen appears. This is how I now turn the tablet on.
But wait, there's more. I just discovered that two quick taps on the home screen of my my Tab S6 Lite turns the tablet off. When not on the home screen, I tap once on the round icon at the bottom right side of the screen and the home screen appears. Then two quick taps on the home screen turns the tablet off.
Amazon had this on sale a few months back for $214 and I jumped on it. :) It's pretty decent. I do wish that it was closer to 8 inch than 10 inch with the same resolution specs (I think that would make the screen images look better), with the ability to connect to a monitor. I wish I would utilize the S Pen more but I'm just not that kind of user. Overall, can't beat the price and the offering combo.
If the iPad 9th gen had stereo speakers, it would be the better option. But the fact that this has good speakers on both sides, comes with the S-Pen, and has USB-C, it’s the better budget option. Especially when it goes down to $250 as it often is.
Lower end ipads also don't have laminated screen, which sucks if you're buying them to use a stylus. Not to mention the price of the pen that's not included with ipads.
I just got a refurb for about $160. It's arriving today and I am really excited. I am upgrading from an S3. Still a decent tablet but it is showing its age.
Hopefully you enjoy it. It probably will have some compromise in comparison. Since it's not a flagship like the S3 used to be. But even cheaper tablets today are more advanced in some ways compared to flagships of the past
I got mine for 340$ in Korea on sale this year. What I like is that it is not WiFi only but LTE so I can insert simcard if I want to. Didn't want to miss the chance cuz normally LTEs are quite expensive.. and simcard availability did make it attractive although the specs aren't the top notch
Im glad i made recent Amazon black friday purchase- New 128gb 2022 version for $219. Great tablet out of box but got better couple days ago with Android 14 update. It runs smoother with battery life increase. Good times
I've had mine for 1 week. It's great, except that the wifi connection range is bad. It won't work properly many places in my house where my phone and pc works no problems. I googled it and seems to be a problem for many users. I'm very surprised this is not mentioned in reviews.
Yeah, I didn't see it. Keep in mind the Galaxy Tab S5e had awful wifi issues and I was one of the only ones pointing it out. I made like 5 videos on it, every single model had the same issue when I tested. So I do try to keep an eye out, but I personally didn't notice any issues.
There are some things you can do that will improve wi-fi that may help. 1. Use 2.4 Ghz, slower, travels further. 2. Review router settings, use Wi-fi Analyzer from fastproc to choose 2.4 bands not affected by other networks; if no other network problem choose band 1. If sharing with other devices your router may be able to allocate more bandwidth than other devices (mine can). 3. If range within house a problem look up wi-fi extenders and similar topics (google extending wi-fi range).
I used the very first Galaxy note tablet (think it was only 8" screen) with stylus for 9 year's, 5 of those year's my daughter used it for playing...most of the time it was in the charger while she played due to that the battery wasn't good anymore. I'm very impressed with Samsung. Their products last longer than Sonys and are more reliable.
Sorry Zach, still prefer my Lenovo P11Pro 2021. A big thing for me is the ability to put video out through the type c port. Good to see you getting back into content. I see you've embraced green as your new look. it's good, even though you're still wearing that Baltimore cap
I see another sale today for $250. If you buy it from best buy they will price match yourself if you are within your return period, worst case you could return and re-buy
I'm in a band, and we have a Soundcraft Ui24r digital wireless mixer. My Tab S6 is PERFECT for managing our mixes (both house and monitor) and lets me take notes, keep set lists, etc., all while managing sound for the band.
I love my tab s6 lite that I purchased January 2023 I think. I love the s pen and just all around love my tablet. I've never had a higher end model so this works for me. My biggest complaint is the no fingerprint lock a well. I really wish it had that.
In case anyone's wondering. All A series tablets DO NOT SUPPORT pen input. Even if you have an S Pen it just won't work on the display. Pen-supported display in itself is a feature. Hence you either get amoled or pen support on a budget tablet
The s6 lite was a huge step up from my old a8. But after a year, I feel like its a bit slow and now looking at an s8 or s9. I actually don't like the trend with larger displays, I very much like the feel of a 10-11" tablet
I am a uni student and i have tight budget, need a tablet for my PDF's and doing basic stuff like watching youtube etc. is it the best budget tablet i can get?
Not really true anymore. The Galaxy Tab S9 for example is 11 inches. It's the small tablet in the lineup. They have a 12.4-in tablet and a 14.6 in tablet. If you go cheaper, the tab S9FE is 11 in as well. And there's a 12.4 inch model too. Almost every iPad also starts at 11 in. I actually want there to be smaller tablets. But in our current tablet world, 10 in is still small compared to everything else
@@AndroidDigest Samsung, Lenovo, Oppo, Honor all offer 10 inch tabs. I think 10 inch is standard, the sizes you mention are relatively recent additions, time will tell if these new sizes become the new standard, but I suspect they will not due to ergonomics and weight.
Thanks for this. I have a different question: Why are LTE enabled tablets reducing yet WhatsApp needs mobile enablement and WhatsApp is use for business, quick orders, on laptops/Web version etc. Actually for me the main spec for tablet purchase is LTE.
I'm a complete newb at tablets. I was considering getting one, mainly for art and to take notes in class, and that's it. Tablets here are kinda inflated so I was looking into cheaper options that have decent performance. Any good recommendations? I'm still considering whether I should buy one of these Android tablets, or just go with regular drawing tablets with a screen display.
For drawing only, I do think pc + drawing tablet with screen is the best as you can crank up the resolution for better quality drawing. It's just not portable. If you're really want one of this kind of tablet. There are others like xiaomi pad 6, ipad 9, lenovo p11 (2nd gen) other than s6 lite. There is also huawei matepad but no google playstore. Mind you, only s6 lite comes with the spen. The others are sold separately
@@eraen8168 I'm still unsure since these tablets are also useful for note taking, but too expensive to take outside at night. I think I'm leaning more towards screen tablets though, there are a few ones with large screens at acceptable prices and basically I'd have a second monitor if I'm not drawing.
If I were in your shoes, I'd look on the used market. I'd probably recommend trying to find a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 for example. You could find one for pretty cheap since it's a year old and the S9 came out recently, so maybe $350 to $450? And you could get 120hz, an s-pen and something with great performance. That's what I'd recommend on the Android side. The S6 Lite is OKAY performance, especially if you're used to lower end phones, and you can get it for $250 right now. You can also look for the S7 FE or the new S9 FE coming out soon, but again, those run around $450 anyway unless you are on the used market too.
@@AndroidDigestHey thanks. An used S8 is about the same price a screen drawing tablet, a bit cheaper. The S6 Lite sounds a bit better to me, I already have an A01 Samsung so I can handle bad performance lol. Still got some thinking to do but thank you for the feedback
Yes, but it's a pretty small screen, not sure you will want to do that. But it also has Samsung DeX, it's a laptop like interface where you can resize windows, and open up multiple windows at the same time.
Pretty poor in comparison. The S23 has the best processor out really. Or close to it. The Galaxy Tab S8 would be the closest thing as far as processing power. It's around $400 used
I see people saying they paid around $240, while on my country it is $455 at the cheapest price. This make us be more exigent on it, living in a 3rd world country really does make you require more from things because of the unfairly higher prices we have to pay lol 😢
Yeah that's really tough. If everything is more expensive, it can still make it a good deal compared to other tablets in your area. And some countries make more money, so even if things cost more, they might make more money to pay it. It. But sometimes people don't make more money, it just costs a lot of money to import all these products. It makes everything cost way more. Really stings for some other countries
Hi short question, would you recommend the 128GB model over the 64 or will be 64 enough with an extra sd card? Mainly asking because of the software updates.
I think 64GB is more than enough for most people, and an sd card can help with extra stuff if you actually go into app settings and change things like music downloads/video downloads to the sd card. But it's enough for most people at least. Depends on the person though. 2 months too late but hope this helps.
Between this and the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3, which one has a warmer display? I'm coming from a Tab A7 and it's got a very cool display which I don't like at all. I'll mostly be using the tablet for watching videos. Also I heard Disney Plus has some issues with Lenovo tablets. Is that so?
To my knowledge, the older Lenovo tablets did have issues with 1080p on Netflix or Disney. And they don't do great with software updates. The S6 Lite display is warm in my opinion. And you can use settings like the night light or other settings to make things more comfortable to your eyes. I think the Lenovo p11 pro gen 2 has a better display, 120hz. And maybe even the p11 plus. But not by too much. The S6 Lite display isn't it's strong suit. But you may still end up liking it. I do remember it being a warm display.
@@AndroidDigest I'm not looking at the other Lenovo tablets you mentioned because neither of them has a headphone jack. My only choices are the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 and the Tab S6 Lite.
@@AndroidDigest Hey so both of these tablets have pretty good deals right now, I can get the S6 Lite for $200 (on backorder though) and the Lenovo refurbished for 254, open box for 264 and new 299, what do you suggest? Worried about the screen bleeding but I like the blue colour of the S6 and usually like Samsung, but this version has such mixed reviews
Well Microsoft word would require the office 365 subscription. It's going to work okay. But not ideal because some colleges have websites that use desktop browsers. And while an Android tablet may work it may not be the most ideal to access college work, depending on the college. That's my main reservation. But this would do just fine with a Bluetooth keyboard and Google docs and drive should work great
I guess we will find out what you think. It depends on your use case and your needs, but yes, overall it's a good choice. More app choices, and an s-pen.
I just reviewed the 2024 version too. Check that price on Amazon. It's slightly better. And you could compare the prices and see how it compares. Even the 2022 version would be great though. Especially for what you're looking for. Plus they'll have a stylus, as long as they don't lose it 😂
@AndroidDigest thanks so much for your reply. I ended up losing on this one but lucked out getting a refurbished A8 for 100 on ebay. What do you think of that?
Just picked up a 64GB version as a entry level pen tablet and planning to get a S8 Ultra later to use as a 2nd monitor for my laptop and as a drawing tablet input device via SuperDisplay. Artist reviews gave a good review about the S-Pen and heard it uses Wacom tech. I wouldn't call 10in a small tablet, just average, a perfect balance between size and portability, there are 7 and 8in tabs out there. I have the SD 720G in my old phone with 6GB of RAM, it will play a few GameCube games well in the Dolphin emulator.
My main work for which I want to purachase this tab is to do emails, take notes and photoshop images & multitasking on-the-go. Is this product a worth-buying? Or should I go to P11 plus and save some bucks?
It depends on the price difference. I like how this has Samsung DeX, so it's a good option for productivity if you enjoy DeX. It's a laptop like environment to open up apps in, and that can help you be more productive, also the stylus helps with things like photoshop if you take advantage of it. It depends on the difference, but you will get better software support from the Samsung, and it's got a few extra perks. I'd go with the P11 Pro Gen 2, or this. the P11 Pro Gen 2 has an oled screen, and it's faster. But no pen, and worse software support. But the Samsung will have DeX, the pen, and software support you want. so if you find a good deal on the P11 Pro Gen 2, I think it's better than the P11 Plus. Other than that, I'd get the Samsung
It's not a big deal either way. But if you weren't going to use it for 2 weeks, I would try to leave the battery between 30% and 70%. Ideally around 50% anyway. And just turn it off. Batteries can wear down when left. It very high percentages or very low percentages
I bought this tab just today, main intention for me is for note taking and making since I am a teacher,,but now I am confused and thinking should I refund it and get a tab s7 fe instead...any suggestion please
I have the s7 fe. Just bought the s6 lite at best buy. It is similar but the s7 fe blows it out of the water. Picture, battery, is better and it runs faster. I might take back the s6. The camera is terrible on the s6
It depends on what you paid. Price is important. The Tab S7 FE retails over $500. At this point it's WAY WAY too high. You can buy the S7 FE refurbished in mint condition on eBay for around $300 now and it's been on sale frequently around $400 new. So I would never pay $530 because it's just too high. The Tab S8 has gone on sale under $600 before and even the Tab S8 you can get for around $400 in mint condition on eBay or swappa. So let me try to make things as plain as I can. For simple note taking, the Tab S6 Lite is great. $350 is a little steep since it goes on sale pretty frequently for $299 (sometimes $250). But if you bought it for $350 I'd still have trouble telling you to spend $200 to upgrade to the S7 FE. A big part of the advice is dependant on how satisfied you are now and what you paid. If you paid $250 or $299 and you're pretty happy with it, why return? If you aren't happy with it and you really want something faster. Don't keep something you aren't happy with. Return and look either for an s8 or s7 fe used on Ebay (sales buy it now, read description, and look for 99% feedback or better) swappa (look for very good feedback) , and amazon (if you go to the right hand side of the s7 fe listing, you can look at the options and they will have some used ones. Amazon warehouse ones are normally returns directly to Amazon, normally haven't been used long. You can even look to buy new on eBay and read the description and make sure it's sealed. They have an allstate/SquareTrade warranty you can often add during checkout which is good. Or you can wait until you see the S7 FE or S8 on sale. The S8 should go on sale (especially with the S9 coming) and you may even be able to find it around $600 now. The S7 FE may also be on sale. If you use links in the descriptions of my videos it helps to get me credit. I reviewed the S7 FE and the S8, and have links on them. Long description but hopefully it helps. You have options. It depends on what tolerance you have for used. Or if you want new. And if you're okay using eBay or swappa. But even if not. It depends on what you paid. How happy you are. And if you aren't there are plenty of new deals out there
No mention of memory heavy apps that you cannot remove or shift to an sd card. 64g tablet with 59.9g taken by operating system and preloaded apps. Going to buy an S9 and hope for better.
No. Not yet. I'm hoping we will see the Tab S9 very soon. And hopefully we will get a Tab S8 FE soon too, maybe a few months later. But can't guarantee that. But no updated S6 Lite from what I've heard.
It can lag some, but again it depends on your expectations, it's fast compared to a lot of $200 phones or tablets. But if you're used to higher end phones it may feel slow to you.
Yes and no. A second hand Tab S8 is around $400.. yes it's better then paying $350 for a new S6 Lite. But you can also get a second hand S6 Lite for $150. It's all about if you want new or used and what price you are willing to pay
Check out my most recent reviews and comparisons. No doubt it's the A9+. I compared it to the S6 Lite on my channel, check it out! The S9 FE is great too but it does cost a little more. Depends on if you find sales or open box. Feel free to use my links if you ever buy, it helps me out, but yeah, the A9+ is definitely great. and probably my go to recommendation if you're okay with no spen.
Yes and no. You need to know that iPads are typically faster than Android tablets, at least around this price range. So this tablet is actually about the same speed as your old iPad. If you look at benchmarks they are pretty similar. As far as speed. One of the benefits of getting this tablet would be that it comes with an s pen. It also has Samsung dex which is pretty cool if you want to do some multitasking. Basically it's a laptop like environment where you could pull multiple windows up at the same time. And of course if you have an Android phone it will work very similar . But the 9th gen ipad will be faster. It won't have an s pin in the box and you will have to pay an extra $100 for the Apple pencil and that's where things may get expensive. So this can still be a good tablet. It can be fast enough for a lot of people. But if you are already in the apple ecosystem and pretty deep into it, nothing wrong with getting the iPad. But if you really want an s pen, this is a good option if you find it on sale. And if you really want an Android tablet but you want something a little faster, I could always recommend other options as well
hello bro......i just want to ask i will be trying my hand in vlogging from next month.....and considering this tab for editing my videos....is it a right choice i don't have much money. this tab comes in budget please answer as fast as you can so that i can buy it
I wouldn't use a tablet for vlogging at all. A smartphone is going to have a much better camera for something like vlogging. You will get a better vlogging camera in a $450 Google Pixel 7a. You could even get one for 350 used in the US. Or you could get a Galaxy A54 5G. All of those will be better at vlogging. Pretty much any smartphone will give you a better camera for the money. This is good for basic video calls.. but not vlogging. But it will be about as good as any tablet at this price for vlogging. But you will get better options for that in phones. Then you can watch things back on a tablet later
Been 1 year since I bought mine, I can say I regretted it. Its so laggy now and the original rubber nib totally worn out after few months (I write using it a lot for college). Samsung didn't sell the tip replacement so I had to use hard plastic nib. The only pros of Tab S6 Lite is "cheapest Tablet with Stylus" which is only usable for note taking and drawing. If you want a Tablet for Note taking and gaming on the side. Really recommend Xiaomi Pad 6. It's the same price as Tab S6 Lite but with overall sooooo much better specs and can run Genshin Impact on MAX setting. Just that the Xiaomi Pen cost almost same as Apple Pencil. However if you look at the price for Xiaomi Pad 6 + Xiaomi Pen, it's definitely the cheapest for it's high performance and power. Save some more money and buy Xiaomi Pad 6 Instead.
I get your point of view. Not as good advice for a lot of people in the US. Xiaomi stuff is hard to find. But still good info. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Yeah the Xiamoi seems interesting but the apps are worse and the support is worse. Doesnt seem right to buy that one which will cost (at least for me) 100 more bucks incl. a stylus pen.
@@d3rd3vil So I finally bought Xiaomi Pad 6 around 3 months ago. With the Xiaomi Pen. So far no issue. I mainly use Flexcill for note taking, UA-cam, Genshin Impact, and the HDMI output capability. I'm incredibly satisfied with it's performance and gaming capability. Just received December security update last week. It is also announced that current MIUI on Xiaomi Pad 6 will get an upgrade to HyperOS on the end of this January. Which is exciting.
hey, Can I use Keyboard with Samsung Galaxy s6 lite Tab , If yes please suggest me some names of good keyboards which I should order online , please reply
Yes, any bluetooth keyboard will work. I would recommend something like the MX keys mini if you are looking for something more expensive and nicer. If you're looking for something cheaper, the Logitech k380 is good. Or the Samsung keyboard trio. I recently did a video on tab S9 accessories, you could look that up by clicking on my icon and going to my videos and searching tab s9 accessories. I talk about all of these keyboards there and I have links in the description in that video. Hopefully it helps
I'm considering buying this tablet (2022 version) mainly for ebooks, music, videos and maybe some other things. is this tablet good for these use cases for it's price & performance? the price in my country is 395$ for the tablet.
I looked it up. it's a solid tablet alright but I need to buy the case & the pen as separate accessories which increases the price quite a bit. I'll think about this one. thanks for the info.@@khairizalk4191
Xiaomi has some good prices and may be a better bang for the buck depending on what country you are in. It's hard for me to give good advice for your country though, for all I know Lenovo tablets are half the price in your country, so hadr to say. But it's good for some music, videos, ebooks, and some basic things, yes.
I'm looking to buy my first tablet since 2015. This seems like a good choice considering I also have a Galaxy watch and buds but do you guys advice another tablet ?
@@AndroidDigest I've taken it on amazon thanks to a reduction. Nothing to say, it works amazing. I'm taking it everywhere, battery works good and no issues at all
I've had my S6 lite since December 2020 and it was a great tablet but unfortunately mine started freezing up on me recently no matter what app im using. I've done the factory reset twice and it's still freezing up on me does this mean its time for a new tablet?
It doesn't sound good. That's for sure. Especially if you already factory reset. If you're looking for someone cheap, I would recommend the A9 Plus. It doesn't have the s pen, but it's just as fast I'm actually it's faster, and you can even get an 8 GB of RAM version for a reasonable price. Reviewed recently on my channel and compared to the S6 Lite in another video
I do love samsung tab S6 lite's spen.... but mine is SAMSUNG TAB A8 WITH SPEN 2019 which has smaller spen.... Does tab S6 lite's spen could be used in samsung tab A8 WITH SPEN 2019?
I am considering this tablet or Lenovo P11 Gen 2 with 6gb ram for my grandma. She will use it to watch TV or scroll Facebook. Lenovo is 50$ cheaper in my location with better ram. I don't want her to suffer with sluggish performance like she has to do now. But if I am correct you haven't mentioned any performance drop with this Samsung which is positive. The thing I am worried is the software. I've seen that Lenovo doesn't update it frequently and it will maybe get only Android 14 while this Samsung will get probably Android 15 and better support. So should I risk it for cheaper and better performance but worst support or go with more expensive but slower Samsung but have no worries about future? Hmmmm
You basically listed out the pros and cons that I would have given you before you even made the comment. I can't make the decision for you, I can only give you the pros and cons. But you already did my job. So yeah. That's a really tough call. Always depends on the person. I've seen. People go on updated software and not give a care in the world, and even though it's supposedly less secure, I've seen it be completely fine. But I've also seen the opposite too, and I've seen some people prefer the more stable device long-term even if it's not as fast. So it's a tough call
Interesting, it will also be used in the garden so thanks for this information. I will look more into it. I am planning to buy it this week so just in time
I guess it depends on your expectations. It is pretty low end when it comes to gaming. If you have a lot of flagship phones and you've used a lot of high in phones in the past that can game on high settings, this definitely isn't it. This can game on a lot of games on low settings. Maybe medium on some games. There are some non-demanding games that don't have high graphics, and this might be able to game on high settings on those. But realistically it can game on most things on those settings. And if that's good enough for you, then yes, it can be good for gaming
I'm just interested in writing, doing my homework (maths, physics, ...), taking notes on pdf, JPG, ... or books ... And what about transferint these pdf, jpg, books. ... from this s6 to PC or viceversa? A4, ... ? Thank you.
It's really really hard for me to say. Some classes and some majors require certain windows programs. Some classes just make you take some online quizzes and take notes. This will do OKAY for taking notes. For reading books. You can connect it to a computer via usb-c and transfer files to a PC. So yes it can do okay. But it won't be as fast as a super fast flagship smartphone. You have to have reasonable expectations with what this phone can do.
Definitely not. It's a step down. The S6 Lite has 4GB of RAM in the base model. The A8 has 32 in the base model. Even if you upgrade the A8 to the 64 GB model that has 4 GB of RAM, it has a slower processor and it doesn't come with an s pen. That's the main difference between the two. The base model though has only 32GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM, so if you find the S6 Lite for close to the same price as the A8 64GB I'd go for the S6 Lite. Getting a faster tablet and an s pen
@@AndroidDigest I don't care about the s-pen. I'm buying for my 8 year old.....lol The s6 lite looks great but that screen! it's way dimmer than the A8 and all the folks talking about the screen bleed on the s6 also scares me away from it.
@@darcandelaria I got my son the A8 10.5" for xmas this year. After getting it in the mail and setting it up all I can say is wow. This thing is fast, bright, and has good sound.
Would you suggest the Lenovo tab P11 pro gen 2 for general use for a senior with not so good eyesight. Mainly for email, articles, ebooks, internet use. Nothing major.
Honestly no. It's complicated though. Oled screens can look very very clear and the resolution is great on that tablet. BUT sometimes oled screens can cause eye strain. I can't say if that will be the case for you or not. Just something to keep in mind. The Tab S8 or this S6 Lite shouldn't have that issue. But on any Android tablet you can blow up the tablet display size to make things larger and easier to see. And the OnePlus Pad, P11 Pro Gen 2, Tab S8, they are all at least 11 inches in size. The Tab S7 FE is a decent choice and it is 12.4 inches so it's a little bit bigger. Those are all decent options. But the P11 Pro Gen 2 has a higher quality screen. But also the potential of eye strain depending on the person. Some people don't have that issue.
What is your thoughts about buying this for Hand draw animation? I was actually aiming for a S6 + . But this really has similar specs, sAmoled apart. Also this is half the price of s6+.
I think brad colbow has answered that question in one of his reviews . I believe his answer was that its not the best option and that its best for a few seconds or minutes long animations but that you can still use it. Make sure to make more research on it though !
Honestly, if I were you, it might help to go one step up and get a Galaxy Tab S8, and find one used in mint condition, it will get 4 years of os updates, it will have plenty of speed and be a big jump up, and if you find it in mint condition it probably won't cost too much more. Either way, hope you found what you need.
To be honest I think it's equivalent. I wouldn't say it's better or worse. I don't think you're getting an upgrade with the screen. The S6 Lite has a better processor, more RAM, and an spen. Also Samsung dex. Those are the differences for the money. I think it's enough to justify the upgrade but it's different for each person
From i read online and utube here, it have dex mode from its last software but cant connect dex mode to a monitor or tv due to its hardware limitation, specifically the usb c port running at usb 2.0 speed... Only the s7 tab fe can do that due to its usb speed
Hi! Would anyone recommend this tablet for note taking? I like a notating PDFs, reading manga and eBooks, taking notes, etc. I would use this tablet for that and as a small second screen for references since I draw on photoshop on a Surface Laptop Studio. Would it be alright? Cheers!
It would work great for all of those things. The only thing I would question is the second screen capability. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have the capability to project to a monitor. So it's a great second screen if you use it on Android. But if you're trying to connect it to be a second monitor for Windows, I don't think it will work. This is an upgraded model from the 2020 model which didn't have the ability to output to a monitor. Since it was USBC 2.0. And the only thing I think they upgraded when they upgraded it in the 2022 model, is the processor. You will be out of luck. I could be wrong though
Was considering this tab, but the price in Sweden is 5100kr ($460 usd~) Is it still worth the buy? I just need something to watch movies, play puzzle games when I'm away at work etc..
I guess it depends. It's hard for me to give country specific advice. Remember that all tablets may cost more in your country. If that is the case, than yes, this is still a decent buy for those things. Otherwise I'd go for the S9 FE which recently released, it's a little faster and a little better
Im still using my 10.1 2014 edition so this s6 lite will be like a Bentley for me. Lol
🤣🤣 I bet
Used that one for a while too
I’m rocking a Lenovo tab E7 😂, picking mine up tomorrow
Dad's still using my 2010 lol That's actually why I'm here - to decide between this or iPad 9/10.
Right. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
This tablet will have software support until? When you on this tablet, this shipped with Android 12?
Yes, it released with Android 12. Honestly, I can't guarantee how long they will support this tablet. It's very confusing. Normally they do give a lot of support on their tablets, including to mid-range tablets. BUT this is a "refresh" of an older tablet so I don't have any confirmation on how long they plan to support it.
In my country is 64gb for 530dollars
FINALLY!! An artist's review!! Thank you!!!
i got this for my sister for her to use in lieu of a notebook for college and so far its been great. especially now since they're $250 at many stores. the S pen is super useful and I prefer writing wth it (I also have a tab s9 for myself) much more than the Apple Pencil lol. its also cool how they still kept the headphone jack and sd card for this. the speakers arent half bad either. for a student id say this is a MUCH better value than those e-notebook things that don't cost that much less than this
Yeah this is pretty good for $250.
I just got one for my daughter at $200, I feel like it's an absolute steal
Yep. You have some good thoughts. Can't argue there
After I posted the above comment, I remembered an annoying problem that I am having with my Tab S6 Lite. Please see if you or one of your colleagues has a solution to this. I have just made a new comment here today which outlines this problem. Thanks again.
Yay it has one ui 5
Does on opening multiple tabs it lags?
I don't blame you there. It's a tough call at that point.
Yeah that's a BIG help
Yeah, a great deal for the price, hopefully they get a smaller version one day
Amazon had this on sale again for $214, I also pulled the trigger. Just got it yesterday, so far I like it.
As you said, for the price, cant beat it.
If the iPad 9th gen had stereo speakers, it would be the better option. But the fact that this has good speakers on both sides, comes with the S-Pen, and has USB-C, it’s the better budget option. Especially when it goes down to $250 as it often is.
Especially since it comes with the s-pen, adding $80 to Apple's price makes it a big difference
Lower end ipads also don't have laminated screen, which sucks if you're buying them to use a stylus.
Not to mention the price of the pen that's not included with ipads.
its absolutely crazy how this is a low end product in the US! Im looking to buy this in brazil, and let me tel you, it is a LUXURY product lol
Totally agree this device is also a luxury in the middle east
And in south east Asia, it depends on the place so it's mid level
Totally luxury product... I just bought in a promotional price on Amazon.
I just got one Jan 2024, works great for me.
It's a great device for basic uses for sure.
@exit3073 do u recommended and hows it going
I just got a refurb for about $160. It's arriving today and I am really excited. I am upgrading from an S3. Still a decent tablet but it is showing its age.
Just got one a week ago refurbished for around $160 and I'm digging it
Hopefully you enjoy it. It probably will have some compromise in comparison. Since it's not a flagship like the S3 used to be. But even cheaper tablets today are more advanced in some ways compared to flagships of the past
@@AndroidDigest I got it for the spen. I like to draw so it'll be used for that. I have the Pixel Tablet pre-ordered will see what that's about.
So, did you like it?
@@kimutone2970 I don't use it as much as I should but it's a good tablet.
That's a good option
Im glad i made recent Amazon black friday purchase- New 128gb 2022 version for $219.
Great tablet out of box but got better couple days ago with Android 14 update.
It runs smoother with battery life increase.
Good times
Absolutely!
Just got my tab s6 lite last week, it updated itself to Android 13 and it's pretty amazing so far

Sorry Zach, still prefer my Lenovo P11Pro 2021. A big thing for me is the ability to put video out through the type c port. Good to see you getting back into content. I see you've embraced green as your new look. it's good, even though you're still wearing that Baltimore cap
It's Boston actually! Yeah I'm embracing the green though. I don't blame you. That's still a good tablet

I'm glad I switch from the A8.. I was skeptical at 1st but it was worth it
I'm in a band, and we have a Soundcraft Ui24r digital wireless mixer. My Tab S6 is PERFECT for managing our mixes (both house and monitor) and lets me take notes, keep set lists, etc., all while managing sound for the band.

@@AndroidDigest It would be nice to know, though, when Android 14 will be out for these (given the 2022 updated version SHOULD be eligible).
I want your opinion, I want a device for my elementary kid, what's better this s6 lite or the Lenovo duet 5?
I love my tab s6 lite that I purchased January 2023 I think. I love the s pen and just all around love my tablet. I've never had a higher end model so this works for me. My biggest complaint is the no fingerprint lock a well. I really wish it had that.
Yeah, I'm with you, fingerprint is important to me, but it's still good for most basic things .
In case anyone's wondering. All A series tablets DO NOT SUPPORT pen input. Even if you have an S Pen it just won't work on the display.
Pen-supported display in itself is a feature. Hence you either get amoled or pen support on a budget tablet
Yes, this supports the s pen, but no s pen on the a8.

Excellent video! does the stylus have palm/wrist rejection? or do you have to use the stylus without resting your palm on the tablet surface?
Yes it does. But always depends on the app
Ipad 9 or a Samsung s6 lite ? Which one do you suggest ?
Next to my ipad 9th gen the tabs screen is stellar
For sure!
I needed a tablet for a weekend and saw this for sale for 249€ + a free keyboard cover. Easy choice still in 2024 for that price.
Pretty good for that price!
I have tab s6 lite 2019 and tab s9. Both are great for its function.
For sure! Thanks for the comment
I'm not sure a 10.4 inch display can be described as small. It's pretty standard. Around 8 inches and below is small, IMO.
I don’t think 10.4 is small.😊
Nice video.
Thank you.
Thanks for the comment!
So... what sort of battery life can we expect?
Thanks for this. I have a different question: Why are LTE enabled tablets reducing yet WhatsApp needs mobile enablement and WhatsApp is use for business, quick orders, on laptops/Web version etc. Actually for me the main spec for tablet purchase is LTE.
I just got a WiFi one. Runs WhatsApp perfectly over WiFi. You will need to link it to a WhatsApp no on a phone via QR code but once done works fine.
Thanks for sharing that!
Yeah I'm not too sure, but it looks like Stu gave a decent answer
Is it slow at 4ram? Need one to take a proctor test online..
Skip this and get Xiaomi pad
Does it have a split-screen mode? So you can work on multiple things at the same time?
Yes, but it's a pretty small screen, not sure you will want to do that. But it also has Samsung DeX, it's a laptop like interface where you can resize windows, and open up multiple windows at the same time.
I just want a tablet with 1tb+ storage and maybe something to take notes on for trips. Good deal ?
Yeah, this seems like a great option for you.
How is it's processing power compared to the Samsung Galaxy s23. Im trying to find something portable for djing. Ipad is not an option. Thanks
Pretty poor in comparison. The S23 has the best processor out really. Or close to it. The Galaxy Tab S8 would be the closest thing as far as processing power. It's around $400 used
On sale for $200 rn in target/best buy !
Yeah that's a great deal
Does the tablet work with the bluetooth S-pen?
No. No bluetooth s pen. I'm not sure if it would work on it or not. It doesn't come with the s pen.
I paid 199$ plus tax at Best Buy a few weeks ago.
Does it have a front camera for Zoom calls? Can it run TikTok?
Yes. But it's in portrait orientation. Like holding the tablet up and down. And yes it can run tiktok
2 months too late but hope this helps.
which is good Samsung A9 or Samsung s6 lite? I'm looking for portrait front camera.
S6 Lite for sure. 2024 if you can afford it
Between this and the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3, which one has a warmer display?

Do you have any advice for how this tablet would perform for use in college? I would mainly use it for microsoft word and google apps.
Well Microsoft word would require the office 365 subscription. It's going to work okay. But not ideal because some colleges have websites that use desktop browsers. And while an Android tablet may work it may not be the most ideal to access college work, depending on the college. That's my main reservation. But this would do just fine with a Bluetooth keyboard and Google docs and drive should work great
Just ordered this and returning the fire max 11 did i do good?
I guess we will find out what you think. It depends on your use case and your needs, but yes, overall it's a good choice. More app choices, and an s-pen.

I just reviewed the 2024 version too. Check that price on Amazon. It's slightly better. And you could compare the prices and see how it compares. Even the 2022 version would be great though. Especially for what you're looking for. Plus they'll have a stylus, as long as they don't lose it 😂
@AndroidDigest thanks so much for your reply. I ended up losing on this one but lucked out getting a refurbished A8 for 100 on ebay. What do you think of that?

yes
Is there a screen bleeding issue?
I have heard people mention it but I didn't notice anything specifically.

Just the processor. A faster processor. That's it.
@@AndroidDigest thanlks!
We have two teenage boys using this for school and it’s really perfect for the purpose!
It's great for that!
Is this tablet better than the A9 plus
I did a full comparison in another video recently. The answer is actually no. But there are some important differences.
Sounds like a good plan. Hope you enjoy it
My main work for which I want to purachase this tab is to do emails, take notes and photoshop images & multitasking on-the-go.
I use it with Lightroom mobile and it performs very well.
Hey, can you please brief me on how to store it when not using it for about 2 weeks or so???
It's not a big deal either way. But if you weren't going to use it for 2 weeks, I would try to leave the battery between 30% and 70%. Ideally around 50% anyway. And just turn it off. Batteries can wear down when left. It very high percentages or very low percentages
@@AndroidDigest it shouldn't be charged full right?? And will it affect the battery or device when not in use for like 10-15 days???
@@AndroidDigest also, thanks for info.
Hi does S6 lite 2022 have palm rejection feature without gloves?
Yes it does
Have they came out with a new galaxy Tab lite 2023.
No. Not yet. I'm hoping we will see the Tab S9 very soon. And hopefully we will get a Tab S8 FE soon too, maybe a few months later. But can't guarantee that. But no updated S6 Lite from what I've heard.
@@AndroidDigest what tablet would you recommend for just for watching UA-cam, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Netflix and playing genshin impact?
Is 4 gb ram enough ? Does it lag??
It do not, and make a good work. For the price is a must buy (2022 model). The only defect is that face lock. Anyway this video is a real thing.
It can lag some, but again it depends on your expectations, it's fast compared to a lot of $200 phones or tablets. But if you're used to higher end phones it may feel slow to you.
Isn't the second hand tab a better choice than the s6 s6 lite and s7fe ?
Yes and no. A second hand Tab S8 is around $400.. yes it's better then paying $350 for a new S6 Lite. But you can also get a second hand S6 Lite for $150. It's all about if you want new or used and what price you are willing to pay
@@AndroidDigest İ am from Türkiye Everything is very expensive here.
Cool video thumbs up. What is the best Samsung Tablet for around two or three hundred dollars in 2024?
Check out my most recent reviews and comparisons. No doubt it's the A9+. I compared it to the S6 Lite on my channel, check it out! The S9 FE is great too but it does cost a little more. Depends on if you find sales or open box. Feel free to use my links if you ever buy, it helps me out, but yeah, the A9+ is definitely great. and probably my go to recommendation if you're okay with no spen.
Is this better than the 2018 ipad? I have that one (gen 6 I believe) and am looking to upgrade. I'm between this one and the ipad 9th gen. Thanks!
And if you really want an Android tablet but you want something a little faster, I could always recommend other options as well
@@AndroidDigest Thank you for the info and fast reply :)
hello bro......i just want to ask i will be trying my hand in vlogging from next month.....and considering this tab for editing my videos....is it a right choice i don't have much money. this tab comes in budget please answer as fast as you can so that i can buy it
I wouldn't use a tablet for vlogging at all.
@@AndroidDigest yes sir i have a camera for recording my videos…i was asking if this tab Samsung s6 lite can be used for EDITING my videos for youtube
Im looking to buying one, could anyone tell me how can i know if the tablet im looking at, is 2022 version
Hey does this have one ui 5?
Yes it does
Been 1 year since I bought mine, I can say I regretted it.
Hey, I have a question, if you don’t mind. How to store it when you're not using it for around 2 weeks??
You can connect it with any Bluetooth based keyboard or usb-connected using a type C adaptor. Samsung official keyboard is also a good option
Try checking on Xiaomi Pad 6. Imo it's a better tablet with same price. Stylus sold separately. But the specs are just extremely good.
If I bought it, I would just use it to take notes and make conceptual maps, maybe watch some videos. Do you think it would be ok?
I think so. Hopefully you enjoy it. Should be good for that.
I'm looking to buy my first tablet since 2015. This seems like a good choice considering I also have a Galaxy watch and buds but do you guys advice another tablet ?
It's a good option. But again keep your expectations in check.
@@AndroidDigest I've taken it on amazon thanks to a reduction. Nothing to say, it works amazing.
I'm taking it everywhere, battery works good and no issues at all
Thx u for the comparison with the A8 I'm upgrading from that lol
I try to mention that. Hope the upgrade went well. It's not too much better than the A8, but it is an improvement.
The ipads and iPhone don't have finger print scanner. Which is annoying
This tablet doesn't either. Unfortunately
Bout one of these today
hope you enjoy it
1 year ago i chose ipad 9th gen over this tab. I dont regret it. 9th gen is perfect. But I want to find out how s tab worked
Yeah if you already like iPad it's a good thing. It's faster and has some advantages. This is slower but comes with a stylus
MicroSD ?
Yes, accepts microsd cards
I do love samsung tab S6 lite's spen.... but mine is SAMSUNG TAB A8 WITH SPEN 2019 which has smaller spen.... Does tab S6 lite's spen could be used in samsung tab A8 WITH SPEN 2019?
That I'm not sure about!
In my opinion the biggest problem with this tablet is the WiFi range.
Interesting, it will also be used in the garden so thanks for this information. I will look more into it. I am planning to buy it this week so just in time
Do some googling on samsung updates with specific reference to this model. I have seen one reference to stopping once android 13 has been implemented.
Is it good for gaming?
So would the A8 be better than this S6?

It really look pretty decent to me.
I think brad colbow has answered that question in one of his reviews . I believe his answer was that its not the best option and that its best for a few seconds or minutes long animations but that you can still use it. Make sure to make more research on it though !
@@dimitroulatroula oh! Alright thank you! I will do
Honestly, if I were you, it might help to go one step up and get a Galaxy Tab S8, and find one used in mint condition, it will get 4 years of os updates, it will have plenty of speed and be a big jump up, and if you find it in mint condition it probably won't cost too much more. Either way, hope you found what you need.
If I were to purchase solely on basis of screen, is a7/a8 worse than s6 lite?
To be honest I think it's equivalent. I wouldn't say it's better or worse. I don't think you're getting an upgrade with the screen. The S6 Lite has a better processor, more RAM, and an spen. Also Samsung dex. Those are the differences for the money. I think it's enough to justify the upgrade but it's different for each person
@@AndroidDigest this comment is helpful to me!!
good for gaming?
Not really. Low spec cpu and ram imo. 4gbs.
Edit, mine is the 2020 model.
From i read online and utube here, it have dex mode from its last software but cant connect dex mode to a monitor or tv due to its hardware limitation, specifically the usb c port running at usb 2.0 speed... Only the s7 tab fe can do that due to its usb speed
Exactly. USB 2.0.
It must be able to connect to a rokku
From 2gig ram to 4 gig ram that's all I need to not lag in COD😎
Yeah it definitely helps!
With that being said. This is great for reading and taking notes and ebooks
Was considering this tab, but the price in Sweden is 5100kr ($460 usd~)
Is it still worth the buy? I just need something to watch movies, play puzzle games when I'm away at work etc..
I guess it depends. It's hard for me to give country specific advice. Remember that all tablets may cost more in your country. If that is the case, than yes, this is still a decent buy for those things. Otherwise I'd go for the S9 FE which recently released, it's a little faster and a little better
Free if you purchase any s4 phone model in the UK at the moment
Pretty good deal
