I was going to be both happy and upset no matter who won and who lost this match. Coco and Marta are both so great on and off court.

She hit hard but land it short, no construction points, no setups.
Both players showed great poise with an strong attitude towards winning and I see both winning a great deal of tournaments in future.
She is amazing …and very grounded- sees things as they are , it’s like NO BIG DEAL, YOU MOVE ON…no needs to harp ..that’s the attitude of a winner
Unfortunately, it’s sooooo “mundane grounded”!! The last time I saw her was in the summer of 2018, in front of her mother she walked like a robot, very tense, but on the court she didn’t speak - she screamed like crazy, hit rackets. Ours often played with her in juniors, Kostyuk always asked to spar with Russian girls, especially on the ground! Why did I think that she was just from Malorossia region - she has a Donetsk accent and she never spoke Ukrainian even with her parents!🤣🥎🤣

I watched the match at Rod Laver today. I was rooting for Coco but Marta played excellent. Only a few points decided the match. This woman is amazing.

Wow I love me some Coco G but I have to say there is something about Marta that’s just refreshing. I’ve never heard of her until seeing her play Coco. Listening to this interview I hear passion, see drive and determination. I have another favorite to add to my collection of tennis greats. I was a little bit worried about women’s tennis since the William sisters but I think we’re still in good hands!!! Great game ladies (this to me was like watching the finals)
the biggest difference between top top players and top50 players is the consistency of playing so well, marta was able to put with gauff for 2 sets but on the 3rd she was not able to maintain the level.
I also feel like mentality plays a big part, this is why the likes of Djokovic, Serena Williams, Federer, Nadal etc, have been so successful.
What level? That was a sloppy match from both - a real error fest

To all those who thought that her attitude and sportsmanship was great, then I guess bad behaviour is ok for them.
Everytime she made a bad shot she threw a tantrum as if she is entitled to the point.
If she is smart she would know that her behaviour shows her opponent that she is getting frustrated and they would take advantage of that.
Her demeanor on the court turn off other fans but this interview we had a glimpse of what she is off-court.
Great philosophical way to look at sports in the greater grand scheme of life. Great interview. Tennis is so mentally draining. Not that other sports are not. But the grind of it, coupled with no real off season plus massive amount of international travel and being away from home can leave some more than others vulnerable. Yes I know it's a privilege to have that pressure and play on the world stage but still it's a lot.

There's a way to catch your dreams without falling asleep 💯
She needs to be calmer when she plays. Cut down on the angry swings. I am glad I heard her say the forehand inside out ( and also the forehand down the line need improving). Those are the shots most prone to errors and overhits because those are shots of aggression, but it must be controlled aggression and accuracy not sheer power. It helps to think spin in those moments. Nice personality
I didn't know who she was a week ago and now she is my favorite women player. The compliments include her great looks, her personality, her deep thoughts on tennis and life, her philosophical thoughts, plus she has great lateral movement on the court and is very tenacious. I see her winning Grand Slams.
