Good review man, I had a bolt and enjoyed scraping the pegs everywhere. I did a bunch of mods (exhaust, suspension upgrade, ecu flash, intake, seat, bars, forward foot controls...) and really liked it after but traded it for a z900rs and I’m loving that bike. If the wife would have let me keep two bikes I would definitely have kept the bolt and would recommend it to anybody looking for this style of bike.
As you know I had one a non r spec but same more or less. I liked it but I don't miss it Very easy to drag the pegs!!! I did like the engine a lot it's a good power plant. I didn't like the seat it got uncomfortable after about an hour or so. The suspension is harsh and crap compared to the XR1200X. FYI they are about 50hp.
I have a '16 R-Spec, I moved the pegs forward and that helped alot with the dragging. I love my R-Spec, although I'm currently trying to get my hands on a HD Lowrider S to have alongside my Bolt, but mainly I just want a bit more power. My power commander just ain't doing it for me no more. Other than that I'd consider the bolt to be one of the best bikes I've ever owned. I probably won't sell it unless I truly have to it'll more or less be my sunny day commuter and/or a spare if one of the guys in my riding club need a back up in case of emergencies.
Weight of the bike? Gallon capacity? Price out the door? What kind of accessories available? Looks like it takes about 3 gallons maybe, and you have to refill at about 125 miles?
IMO there is just something about riding a Harley. With that said, the Bolt is a great alternative. I didnt notice much power difference but the 1200 does have more torque. Alot of the components on the bolt are fairly budget feeling and looking. The 1200 Custom is much nicer in the fit and finish department. Hope this helps!
_sedda_ I looked up 2014 specs - 54 HP is what I found... same engine for 2020, so wondering where the extra 11 HP is coming from? I see the specs listing 65 HP for 2020 Bolt... and I looked up specs on Sportster 1200 - 58 HP... but I can tell you, my son’s 1200 easily pulls away from me at 60 MPH - which makes sense from a 254 cc larger engine...
_sedda_ I’m just saying that the Sportster 1200 is a step up in performance - the Bolt woops the 883 but falls well short of the 1200 - Yamaha needs to build a Bolt 1300 - I enjoy my Bolt as is with Shorty pipe, Cobra Naked Intake and F1-2000 fuel pack but have to admit that either more displacement or really, just a 6 speed transmission would be appreciated.

I bought the z900rs too;)
@@ws6man96 yeah I know, I was checking out those video and saw this one! Are you on the Z900rs forum??
@@KB-yj5xp No, just on the Facebook groups.

Test riding this tomorrow. Test rode a 13 HD 1200 custom and loved it. How does this compare to that in your experience?

Check out my review on my Dads 2005 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom.
My son has a 1200 - it def has more power - the Bolt will smoke
the 883 but the 1200 easily pulls away from the Bolt.
This was great!
Yamaha bolt r spec 2020 or harley sportster 883
Sportster 1200
I’m going to the dealership tomorrow it’s this or rebel 500 the 2020 I’m torn. Be my first bike
The rebel cant compare with this bike. If you can afford the Bolt, get it!
Bolt is way better than the rebel500
I have the Rebel 500. Already want to upgrade after 1,000 miles.
Does this feel gutless compared to an MT09? Wanna switch to a cruiser, but I'm gonna miss the torque and speed lol
The Bolt has a good torque curve but will taper off once you get up past 70/80 I'm sure.
If you want torque, try an Indian Scout? Those things launch
Is that mph or kph? Good video bro
Thank you, its mph.
This looks like Pennsylvania
I thought the same thing
48 HP and top end is about 110

@@theoriginalOSOK Yamaha has the *Stryker* for 1300cc cruiser. It's a freakin beast!
Sethuna well, they did... it’s gone from their catalog... they also made the Warrior and Raider
@@theoriginalOSOK When did they drop it?

Turn your sound down during the talking parts. If the bike had sounded better I would've talked less. Think you mean "talking" btw.
