Former WWE Superstar Duke "The Dumpster" Droese discusses Lex Luger and ribs Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith were playing on Luger prior to Lex jumping ship back to WCW.

Lex was a great guy. Never did anything cruel to others.

If thats the case Lex made the right move. He went back WCW and was a top guy the first night Nitro aired . Davey Boy made his way back to WCW and pretty muched was used to get people over. WCW knew how to use Lex Luger where the WWF had no clue just like Vader .
Well, not so much. Bischoff has gone on record saying he didn't want Lex back in WCW. He even offered him less money in hopes Lex would turn it down. Sting was the reason Lex was able to go back to WCW. A lot of his success in WCW was due to Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as they have gone on record saying that they pushed for Lex backstage and Lex was on fire once the NWO angle took over. The WWF did everything for Lex. Vince wanted Lex to be the next guy and he was pushed to the moon but the WWF fans chose Bret Hart. I liked Lex in the WWF but Bret had won most of the fans over. You can't blame the WWF for Lex not succeeding there. Lex himself did not put in his 100% when he was there especially during the Lex Express era.
Couldn't agree more. His run as the Narcissist was awesome as well as fitting. His feud with Mr. Perfect should have continued after WM9. They worked well together.

I liked both versions of Lex in the WWF but I do feel he did better as the Narcissist because not only was the gimmick about his looks and physique but Lex also had an obsession with his physique in real life. It was a perfect match. I also did enjoy his feud with Yokozuna. Me and my dad were there when he slammed Yoko on the USS Intrepid. I still have the Polaroid from that day and man, Lex arriving to the scene via aircraft was great.
@Pikkon89 even before Lex left WCW the first time they knew how to push him. Think back to the the late 80's into the early 90's. The matches with Sting,Flair Ron Simmons and Barry Windham he was apart of the four horsemen. I Understand that the WWF fans wanted Bret Hart more(Bret Hart is my all time favorite) so where was the Luger vs Hart feud? their wasn't one instead they made Lex feud with Tatanka . Vince has a long history of these actions and that is not pushing the talent that he didn't create himself perfect example Bray Wyatt. Bray Wyatt is a throw back wrestler he has a little bit of Jake Roberts,Mankind and Kevin Sullivan and they do nothing with him .

But you can't say that with Lex because Vince did everything for him. Vince clearly chose Lex over Bret. Lex had been pushed to the moon but the fans chose Bret. There was no feud between the 2 because it would have been baby face vs baby face and Vince hates that. The end of the Royal Rumble is where the writing on the wall was for Lex. The fans clearly cheered louder for Bret. You chose Bret but I actually chose Lex. Don't forget that the Wrestlemania prior, Bret lost to Yoko and Hogan won the title back the same day, which the people didn't like. Moving forward, Vince gave us the Lex Express pushing the agenda that Lex deserved a title shot. Lex was made to look very strong and Bret wasn't. It was simply a matter of Lex being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was Bret's time and people wanted to him rise to the top. It really had nothing to do with Lex not being a Vince creation. It just wasn't his time.

This was not a good natured rib to a coworker pal, this was basically bullying a dude. Luger left during his run with Bulldog, I guarantee (he’d never admit this since it would make Owen look shitty and Lex would rather forget it) he was basically being targeted by Bret’s boys. Bret probably hated Luger since he saw him as another Hogan, someone Vince clearly liked and a potential threat to his WWF Championship. Hence why Lex just said screw it and ran to WCW for a fraction of the money - to be with his legit buddy Sting and get out of a bad situation

he was a prankster. you always have the friends that are jokers, then you have the serious, quiet guys who everyone assume is "dumb" when usually it's the opposite, somewhere in the middle, jealousy, or being secure and content. I think I over-extended. Not sure I understand my comment lol

Lex went back to WCW, had a huge run when WCW was killing the WWF, Owen & Davey were used as crap after Bret left and Davey wound up as a shit jobber just 2 years after Lex went back to WCW.
