Things I love about Furry Little Peach videos: 1. The colour grading and all around cinematography 😍😍😍 warm yellows oranges and pinks for days 2. That editing though 😍 and the audio 😍 3. Sha'an's a cutie patootie with a sharp wit and a fantastic loving life attitude 4. Sha'an's art 5. The community (and rocket and bento too) ;)
Japans is a specialist when it comes on making low key or “cheap but with a considerable quality” products; but let’s be honest, Pentel products are awesome, also Japanese kids are so lucky for having these cheap but good products for them to play/start! Loved the way you make this review sharing your own personal experience by simply showing how it fits to your work and trying to motivate people to try it and have their own POV about the product; also I love the twist your illustrations have when you put those cute faces on it! (Still waiting for your collab with bento! Hehe 💛)
Hahahh! I know right! Most of the supplies I've bought from Japan have been excellent for the pricepoint! And thanks so much! It's really nice to read in depth comments like this - they're my favie! I'll have to ask Bentz if he wants to be in my video - I'm lucky I get to see him every week in meetings with Chris heheh 💛💛💛
Monique Aya I agree! A stationary store in my country has got some Pentel products and they are all so amazing. The mechanical pencil feels like a real pencil and the mines are easy exchangeable without breaking and being stuck in the pencil. Energel pens are top notch as well. Good ink flow, smooth to write with. My student heart loves them!
I'm very careful! But also, I don't need to carry the pencilcase that much so it usually just sits on my workbench - I'm lucky to have a big studio to work in, so I really only take it with me when I'm travelling or drawing outside
furrylittlepeach I love “that yellow bag”, it’s so pretty! Could you by chance help a fellow out and tell me where to get a little happy yellow art pouch for myself?
About the people that said you were an arrogant for telling beginners to use cheaper watercolors: let me tell, you are completely right. It’s been already 4 years since I started my art studies, between art high school and kind of college, and all my teachers when we start a new technique that it’s obviously expensive for an student (and normal people let’s be honest been an artist it’s expensive) always tell us to buy cheap material unless with already know the technic or we already know we can give it good use. If you’re still learning or you’re never gonna use that material again, it’s a waste of money buying the “easy ones to use”. Yeah, cheap material it’s harder to work with sometimes but will keep your pocket save from all the money you may need in the future if you decide that’s what you want to do. I have really good watercolor by my own, but I barely use them in no-final classworks. If I want and need to practice, I use the watercolors that I bought on Tiger.
Luka Lee I agree. It’s best to learn the “hard way” in the beginning anyway even if it’s a little longer - because then you gain more skills for problem solving in the future 😍
I feel like to some degree this also applies to learning musical instruments. I grew up learning piano on a shitty little plastic keyboard with no dynamics and then after that, an extremely heavy old piano with little dynamic control lol I’ve been playing for 15 years, and now that I have a decent intermediate quality professional keyboard, I realize how much I learned from having to overcompensate for lesser instruments and it’s like wow I would have never appreciated this as a kid! Lol ease of use doesn’t always teach a whole lot of flexibility. That being said, there is a lower limit I guess too, like the medium or instrument has to be at least not trash garbage enough to allow you to learn decent technique on it while still saving money. Anyways, just wanted to chime in and agree from another perspective!!
i know this is old, but i agree with both, at first you do not need top of the line art supplies, but also not bottom of the barrel either, as when i first started i had these super cheapo crap watercolors and they were impossible to work with or get anything to look right. You can easily find decent quality watercolors(or any art supply really) that wont break the bank. spending something from 10$ up to 30$ will get someone a decent workable starter set that wont give discouraging results. If any beginners do read this, just do your research. It isnt terribly hard to find something decent for cheap, there are lots of affordable options out there, but be wary, there absolutely are some cheap watercolors around that will make you want to rip your hair out! lol and remember, everyone sucks at first sometimes ;D
“I love Painting. I’m lucky I get to do what I love everyday.” Me too! I work at a paint and sip studio so I get to teach people how to paint full time. It’s nice to reflect on how lucky you are and focus on the positive. Thanks for the remember ☺️☺️💖💖
your sunshiney vibe is the best! You are just the personification of yellow haha and it's all I need when I'm feeling lazy or unmotivated. Keep up the amazing work Sha'an!
I do love this video. But I think my favorite types of videos are just your studio vlogs where you show us your daily routine because as someone who wants to go into this career; seeing someone do what you do is like super inspiring and it makes me excited to try harder
No matter what kind of day I’m having, it’s always a comfort knowing I have one of your videos to watch to calm me down and inspire me at the same time.
I would love to see you try another Japanese brands watercolors like Holbein and Kusakabe, these are a professional grade watercolors but with an affordable price, and its also comes in set and in individual colors!
I've been binging your videos because of the quarantine. I'm not even an artist and I've been following you for like 2yrs. I just adore your energy. 🖤🖤
Not bad for $8. I didn’t expect it to be vibrant, so it’s really cool, I’m gonna look for them when I go back to Japan! I love your art style so much. Take care always! 😍
This brings back memories- These paints are the classroom standard for arts+crafts classes in Japanese elementary schools! We each got a set and I was excited as you were in this video😄 It's a bit on the opaque side because it's designed so kids can cover up mistakes with thicker layers (or at least that was what my teacher told me)
Cynthia Star yes I found that they were unite opaque but were still able to be watered down quite smoothly :) I knew they were for kids - I thought so because of the illustrations! One thing I’ve noticed since looking back at this painting and comparing it to my other watercolours is that the pigment seems to sit on the paper - I can slightly feel it as I run my fingers over it - whereas with my Sennelier French Artist Watercolours it just feels like the paper - that might be in the thickness of the pigment?
Hi I just wanted to let you know how much you have brighten my day. Thankyou for doing what you do because your truly inspiring. You've made my most gloomiest day joyous
I think what most beginners fail to realize is that the art isn't made by great tools, it's made by great artists. A good artist can make great art with terrible tools, and great tools can make terrible art if the artist don't know how to use them. Having nice paints and brushes is really just a plus to make the art shine more. There's no need to start off by buying the most expensive stuff, wait until you've outgrown what you have already, then it's even more of a treat too :)
Of course I'm going to love another one of your videos, it's basically a given at this point :P I discovered your channel not too long ago and kind of low key obsessed by it. Your art is so creative and inspiring and cute and I love your studio vlogs too! One of the best discoveries of this year
I first saw these in a sketch set with a palette and brush holder and bag for $38 US and thought that was cheap... but it's nice to know that they work really well and are even more affordable than I thought.
I agree that when starting out price is more important than quality! I started out with brands like Crayola and once I got more comfortable I moved on to more expensive and higher quality watercolors
I absolutely agree with you that beginner should use the cheapest, that way, we don't waste expensive paint. And if you can nail the cheap paint, imagine what you can do with the expensive and good one! ❤
Great as always! Maybe you could try some Crayola supplies next as they're pretty inexpensive and you could give some tips and inspiration on how to push them to their full potential. Keep up the great work! 🖌❤️👏
It’s a first for me to comment here ! I just wanted to say thank you to share with us your energy, the backstage, I am a big fan of your work and I really appreciate your energy ! Big inspiration for me, so thank you ! 🙂 and you are so beautiful !!
just found your channel and am so glad I did! You are adorable and I myself am trying to get started with watercolor. I had bought a Pentel set a little bit ago. I like in Taipei and it was I think literally about $3 USD. But I had heard decent things about them. Can’t wait to try them!
I am loving that cute peach! Makes me want to gently poke it and take care of it. Have you tried working with Crayola washable supertips? i bought them cause they were cheap compare to other brands, wanted them for hand lettering but apparently you can use it as watercolours too but I havent tried it. The only expensive art supply i bought were the Pentel water brush sets of 3. this was meant to be a short comment..what im getting at is, can you please make a tutorial on how to use the pental brush with crayola markers I mentioned above?
I've never commented before but I've been watching your videos for months and you are so amazing! I love your style so much and it inspires and motivates me to make more art. :)
Yay! I'm so glad you commented, it's basically how I meet you all! Thanks so much for watching - and you can make more! The best time to start is now! x x x
iloveyouiloveyouiloveyou. you are literally my favourite illustrator in the world. you are so talented and your personality is so bright and bubbly. i love the colourways and aesthetics of your videos. you are amazing. keep doing you. xxx xxx xxx
such a nice and relaxing video as well as being informative and fun, love it as always Sha’an :) ps you should do a speed painting with these watercolours, i’d watch the heck outta that
I’m so glad to know I’m not the only human that says “far out Brussel sprout!” I love you videos and I love the fact that you’re Australian as well!! 💕💜 have a great day
you should try mixing all of the watercolors by different colors. and then see what that watercolor set will be like. it can be like Frankenstein watercolors. although I know it can be hard stuff, but it will be fun to watch. btw totally love your videos. been watching for years already :))
Hi, I love the painting, makes me happy to see your artwork. I used different brands of watercolors through the years and many things affect the result of the painting like the paper and the technique. I read recently on a blogpost that it doesn't mean that the most expensive watercolors are the BEST for you. Each person has a different way of using them and it is just a matter of the individual to choose whatever works for them. :) Thank you for the review! Hugs
Ji Yeon Lee exactly right - and I think that’s why I wanted to do this series - to also prove it isn’t just the materials it’s also your technique and experience. And while I would still use my Sennelier set over these for my fine art pieces - this is good enough for fun! ✨
hello Sha'an! absolutely love your reviews, you are so concise and thorough about everything and the attention to detail is also really cool. I live in India and we don't have all these brands i was wondering if you could do a review for the paints that are easily accessible here, which are the Camlin Watercolours. i checked and they are available in Australia. They cost around 11 US dollars. if you could do a review on them, if that's possible for you, that would be reallllly cool. LOVE YOUR ART. and your vids. xx
Kelsey Palomino I think my lines are very smooth because of practice and the confidence that comes from that! I know which brushes I work best with so I think it’s about finding your comfortable materials and practicing :)
Damn, Sha'an, the art's gorgeous! My Good Boy stickers came in the mail a few days ago and have made their way onto my laptop so thought I'd let you know ;) I love the matte vinyl, its suuuper sleek
Omg that makes me so happy to hear!!! How nice is the vinyl - when we got the samples back I was so so so excited to share them with everyone! Thanks for supporting me via my channel AND my store 😍 you’re an angel! 🌈
I found them on amazon, the site said it will arrive in july though! (since it has to ship from japan to belgium) so i will be able to try them next month. :)
Things I love about Furry Little Peach videos:
1. The colour grading and all around cinematography 😍😍😍 warm yellows oranges and pinks for days
2. That editing though 😍 and the audio 😍
3. Sha'an's a cutie patootie with a sharp wit and a fantastic loving life attitude
4. Sha'an's art

Sha'an! Can you and Rocket do a video about how Rocket got into photography? Love the video btw! xx
Y’all are adorable. What song did you use?
How do you keep that yellow bag so clean esp with art materials inside
I'm very careful! But also, I don't need to carry the pencilcase that much so it usually just sits on my workbench - I'm lucky to have a big studio to work in, so I really only take it with me when I'm travelling or drawing outside

I can't remember the place, but I know she talked about it in a recent haul video, so if you don't get a response, you can always check there! :)

The vibrancy is insanneeeeeee
EJ I think the colour grading makes em a little brighter in the painting parts! But they were pretty true to their colours
How do you film above head shots ? I don't get it, I always have to be 2cm away from the paper when I draw ^^'
“I love Painting. I’m lucky I get to do what I love everyday.” Me too! I work at a paint and sip studio so I get to teach people how to paint full time. It’s nice to reflect on how lucky you are and focus on the positive. Thanks for the remember ☺️☺️💖💖
Grace Sellers I do it all the time - it’s crazy I was born in a place and time that I was able to make a living from illustration !

Imogen Henshaw ✨🌞🌈🌿
you should try mixing all of the watercolors by different colors. and then see what that watercolor set will be like. it can be like Frankenstein watercolors. although I know it can be hard stuff, but it will be fun to watch. btw totally love your videos. been watching for years already :))
Hi, I love the painting, makes me happy to see your artwork. I love her Makeup
hello Sha'an! absolutely love your reviews, you are so concise and thorough about everything and the attention to detail is also really cool.
LOVE YOUR ART. and your vids.
xx
Your adorable doobles are my favorite ❤
heheh
furrylittlepeach lately you’ve been replying to my comments and it makes me so happy, thank you! ❤️
I love everything about you and your videos😍😍 your art is so beautiful and that editing is so amazing wow😍😍
Ranya Said thanks beauty! X x
The way you did the lines for the cactus 😍 what helped you have such a steady hand, did you have some exercises to help?
Kelsey Palomino I think my lines are very smooth because of practice and the confidence that comes from that! I know which brushes I work best with so I think it’s about finding your comfortable materials and practicing :)
Found this exact same set on Amazon for 500yen ($4.50). Definitely a steal.
Love the video :) You should do a video where Rocket takes a photograph of something and then you translate it into a painting.
