Auch wenn das Thema Panzerkampfwagen IV schon recht gut abgedeckt ist, so freut es mich dennoch, dass Zvezda mit der eher leicht vernachlässigten E Variante auf den Markt kommt.
Der Bausatz hat ein paar kleine Defizite, wie zum Beispiel winzige Sinkstellen an ein paar Kleinteilen, aber dafür sind die Details gut und der Bau auch anfängerfreundlich. Bei einem Preis von ca. 30€ gibt es eigentlich wenig zu meckern.

Although the Panzerkampfwagen IV topic is well taken care of i am very happy about the Zvezda Panzer IV E release anyway, because this particular variant is a bit neglected.
The kit has a few small shortfalls, like a few sink marks on a couple of small parts for example, but overall the details are good and the assembly is also doable for beginners. With a price tag of about 30€ there is very little to complain about.

That is true, i enjoyed the newer generation kits by zvezda a lot as well :)
Their new kits generally are stunning right across the board. I've got and or built their 1/48 Pe-2, Yak-3, La-5FN, LA-5, Bf-109F-2 & Bf 109F-4 and 1/72 Su-33. Really really detailed crisp good quality moulds. I was disappointed with aspects of their recent release T-34/85 though. Unarguably THE single most wanted piece of armour on my shopping list due to the current unavailability of 1/35 T-34/85 kits generally, and not wanting either of the Academy kits.

Bin wie immer happy wenn du ein neues Video veröffentlichst. Schaue dir schon ein paar Jahre zu.
Ich finde einfach toll wie "gefächert" deine Videos sind. Gerade da du auch auf ältere und einfachere Bausätze eingehst.
In den Jahren bist du auf dem Boden geblieben. Kein Profistudio in dem alles perfekt erscheint obwohl es von dem Hobby für jedermann "entrückt" wirkt.
Schade daß man sich dieses Hobby mittlerweile leisten muß. Um so schöner daß du, wie viele von uns Bastlern, im Keller sitzt. Hoffe bis Fürstenfeld 2019.

Danke für deine Antwort. War das erste mal dass ich etwas kommentiert habe. Und ich mein das so! Wir verfolgen doch die Entwicklung in unserem Hobby. So schön die Neuerungen für' s Detail sind oder die spanische Schule für den Realismus - gepaart mit Namen treibt es den Preis.
Klar dass mir auch vieles zusagt und gefällt. Von manchem Könner bin ich auch beeindruckt. Nur einige Videos von jenen erinnern eher an Homeshopping.
So wird der Nachwuchs nicht animiert wenn dann der Bausatz soviel kostet wie das neueste Videospiel.
Und bei dir klingt es nicht nach einer Religion mit festen Geboten.
Es geht um ein Hobby: Spass , Entspannung, Zeitvertreib, auseinandersetzen mit unseren Interessen und Geschichte. Feine Sache, manchmal ohne tieferen Sinn und trotz mancher Unterstellung politisch entspannt!
Klasse Bausatzvorstellung. Dein Fachwissen zu der Materie, beeindruckt mich immer wieder👍. Dein Akzent tut sein übriges, fast ein wenig wie bei mir in der Heimat✌. Ich baue gerade zum ersten mal einen Sherman M4, für mein neues Normandie Diorama. MfG der Ben

Nice review, thanks. This looks like the sort of kit I'd enjoy - good detail without too much fiddling about. I enjoy the building part, but I wouldn't take much pleasure in twenty plus pieces for each suspension bogey! Very affordable too. It's going on the list!

A bit simplied in places but the overall detail seems very good (especially turret/cupola), good instructions and seems like it should be a decent value. Zvezda seems to be coming along nicely. Thanks for the review.

Thanks. Nice review. Zvezda Kits are improving. I like the clear parts and for some photo etch. I like the blue background on the decals so you can see the white emblems much easier. I haven't seen an E Panzer IV model before. The early Panzers get kinda overlooked.. I would like to see what you think about building it too.
Cheers! Dragon made an E version in some configurations, but it is one of the more rare variants in general, yet an important one. I might get round to build it later this year, we shall see.

I'm new in the Zvezda brand... I've recently bought their German Soldiers on the Ostfront - Winter 1941-42 and I have to say that it's a nice kit... Zvezda is not popular in my zone... Nice review again, Michael! See you in a next video! :)

Die neuen Zvezda bausätze schauen schon super aus ich hab mir die SU 100 mal angeschaut bei nem günstigen Händler und 20 Euro für einen Bausatz mit Klarteilen und neu Auflage ist schon super 👍

Not bad at all, Michael! Yes, Zvezda seems to be one of the manufacturers that work seriously to improve the quality of their kits. The old ones are quite bad, but not impossible; about the new ones I hear only good things (aircraft kits included). I always liked the instructions manuals on Zvezda models. I consider them easier to read than Eduard's, although the latter uses colour printing :) I like the way Zvezda break the sub-assemblies on the left hand column and I don't remember any trouble with the instructions . The price / part count it's about the best on the market so, yes, I think is a wise choice ti buy it. Other than that, I'm eager to see the build. Tip: if you wan to get rid of the accurate canisters from your stash, buy more Zvezda kits ;) Gabriel
haha gabriel, that would be a good excuse to buy more zvezda kits :D the wrong jerry cans are not a big deal anyway, one does not have to use them.
i agree, i never minded the break up of sub assemblies and main assemblies in their instructions, i actually like that style. it also helps to keep things clearly arranged, so it is easy to follow.
I haven't done a Zvezda kit so found this very interesting. I hope to build their upcoming T-34/76.
Their older kits are very outdated these days, but most of the stuff they have done since about 2010 is mostly pretty neat.
Auf die Bausatzvorstellung hab ich schon gewartet.Das Modell macht nen guten Eindruck.Der Preis ist auch ok,wie du sagst,nicht jeder hat nen dicken Geldbeutel und die MModelle von Dragon,kannste dir ja kaum noch leisten.

Mal wieder eine sehr gut Bausatzvorstellung von dir, was du zum Bausatz sagst, kann ich nur bestätigen.
Die Dragon Bausätze sind komplizierter im Aufbau, da manche Bauteile, wie jetzt beim Panzer IV, die Laufwerksteile unnötig aus mehren sehr kleinen Teilen bestehen, dazu kommt dann noch die manchmal zu komplexe Bauanleitung, die auch manchmal einige Fehler hat.
Ich habe mir von Zvezda den Panzer IV Ausf. H besorgt, für mein kleines Normandie Projekt, wo ich zur Zeit an der Fertigstellung des neuen Academy Panzer IV Ausf. H arbeite ;), so kann ich gut die neu erschienen Panzer IV Ausf. H Bausätze vergleichen.
Der Farbhersteller in russischer Sprache auf der Bauanleitung ist nicht Zvezda, bei mir sind am unteren Kartonrand, die Zvezda und Humbrol Farbangaben, die müsstest du auch haben ;).
Die Zvezda Segmentketten, sehen nicht schlecht aus und lassen sich auch gut verarbeiten, falls du noch in deiner Restekiste Magic Tracks für Panzer III/IV hast, die passen auch am Zvezda Panzer IV, auch auf die Triebräder.
Als nächster Hersteller, hat Miniart den Panzer IV angekündigt, nach dem sie die frühe Panzer III Serie fertig haben ;).

vielen dank markus :) also bei mir stehen außen auf der schachtel die farbangaben in normalen schriftzeichen auch drauf, und da ist von zvezda und tamiya die rede. finde ich interessant, wie sich das unterscheiden kann!
ich bin jedenfalls gespannt, wie sich das ding bauen lässt. bisher habe ich noch keine genauen pläne dafür, aber da findet sich auch noch was.
I have to say, the Zvezda tanks I have are probably the most value for the money of any models. I really like Zvezda! That said, they have gone a long way in improving their kits so an older kit might not be quite as good. I'm not sure. Thanks for the Review. Regards, Solomon
you are welcome :) a lot of their older kits are simply horrible, i remembe well how i once smashed their katjusha model with a hammer because it frustrated me beyond that certain level. It remains the only kit with that fate :)
luckily they have improved a lot in the last years and it is a pleasure to see that. i am curious to see what is ahead of us.
Nice video. Thanx! As you know, I've built the ausf h version which was really nice. Problems - the drive sprocket looks weird. The idlers look too skinny. The tools look really thin and not chunky enough. Turret hatch doors are too thin along with the drivers and ro hatches. Good points.....headlight wiring built in. Link and length tracks are beautifully moulded and the fit is fantastic. Casting numbers on the suspension bogies. And a lot of other things I can't recall, but I was impressed.
thats all that matters in the end :) i haven´t tried their H version, because i saw some problems with it that put me off.
the problem with that kit is that it can´t move the turret, you can fix that
Nicht schlecht, ich finde es gut das es noch einen Hersteller gibt der im niedrigeren Preissegment angesiedelt ist und das bei einer guten Qualität. Ansonsten kosten die meisten neuen Bausätze mittlerweile ab 50€ aufwärts.
es muss teure bausätze geben, aber eben auch etwas billigere. da macht zvezda eigentlich fast alles richtig :)
All you can see through the engine hatch is two fans.That are vertical with hatch not flush with deck.Not impossible.One of the dml 3in1 kits has as option.
yes, i was thinking about the time when i built the dragon kit of a panzer IV and how much it had installed on the inside of the engine hatches.
have you listened to 'The Arms of Krupp' on utube.The early part of family history is interesting,and how the 'krupiana?' were born,leading to its role in german history.Ijust built 3 in 1 DAK 6264 didnt have vents in covers,but 6764 aus B has them.The 6264 turret bin latches were 'fun'.love the work.Have you seen rfm panther in flesh? So far i built the Tiger(like upgraded ACADEMY 95 kit) ABRAMS and Revosys

Hallo MIchael, mal wieder ein tolles Video von Dir. Ich verfolge Dich auch schon seit einigen Jahren und bin sozusagen Stammzuschauer. Jetzt hätte ich mal eine grundsätzliche Frage zu Segmentketten: Sollte man dabei so vorgehen wie bei Dragons Magic Tracks? Also erst verkleben, dann am Modell trocken lassen, dann wieder abziehen und bemalen und dann erst richtig am Modell verkleben? Oder geht das nur bei den Magic Tracks? Ich hab leider noch nicht so viel Erfarhung obwohl ich schon ein alter Sack bin. Leider kann ich mich nicht erinnern, dazu etwas in einem Deiner Videos gesehen zu haben. Über eine Antwort würde ich mich sehr freuen. Ach ja, ich finde Deine Videos absolut top und freue mich auf jedes Neue. Beste Grüße, Michael (ja, ich heiß auch so ;)
Hallo Namensvetter :) ich finde, man kann das Vorgehen bei egal welchen Ketten nicht verallgemeinern: Es kann sowohl bei Einzelgliederketten als auch Segmentketten mal vorteilhaft sein, sie um das Fahrwerk zu legen und trocknen zu lassen, mal die Ketten gleich anzukleben und mit dem übrigen Modell zusammen zu lackieren oder es auf hundert andere Arten zu deichseln. Ich mache das von der Beschaffenheit des Fahrwerks und der Ketten abhängig. Bei einem Panzer I zu Beispiel baue ich alles schon dran und bemale es am Stück, egal wie die Ketten gemacht sind (ob Einzelglieder, Gummi oder Segmente). Bei dem Panzer IV hier würde ich durchaus in Erwägung ziehen die Ketten nur aushärten zu lassen, dann aber wieder abzunehmen und separat zu behandeln. Dafür gibt es kein Patentrezept.

Good review Michael. Zvesda kits are hit and miss. I built the BA-10 armoured car a few years back it was well done but it needed a lot of extra detail to really make it great.
that is ture! the old toolings by zvezda are not really that great, i know thab ba-10 kit well. their new stuff looks different and the quality is good.
Yes I have a couple 48th scale kits of theirs and they’re very nice. They are definitely improving!
The tyres do have writing on them, I'm sure.
you are right! they are not on all wheels and a bit shallow and barely readable.
I'm pretty sure they're written on all outside tyres. Did you see the casting numbers on the suspension bogies? Pretty neat. This is moulded a lot differently to every other pziv model out there and I was a bit concerned how they'd look, but the fit is fantastic and they look amazing. Shame the schurzen covers them on the ausf h! 😀.

I wanted to watch this review again to see if I could spot any marbled recycled plastic in the turret or other large parts.... looks like you were lucky and got a kit moulded out of better plastic. 😄
Sometimes i have to be lucky for a change! One other thing: Someone in the comments pointed out that the tracks are too wide, they should be of the narrow 36cm type. I am actually not sure whether this is correct or not, as a lot of E tanks were photographed in Russia and to me it looks like they have received the normal 38cm tracks by then. Your thoughts on this Bruce?
@@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling the Ausf E still had the narrower tracks (they are technically called 38cm tracks, because they include the track pins when measuring). The wider 40cm tracks were used starting with the Pz IV Ausf F (the wider track is why the switched to the concave drive sprocket, and the road wheels were wider too).
Thank you for that info, so some converting might be in order here unless we build a vehicle that got already modified. I think that is acceptable.

Man macht glaube ich nichts falsch mit dem Bausatz.
This cannot be built into an Afrika korps model because of the molded on rear deck with the solid engine bay doors . Would you say this kit is a s good as a Dragon kit just simplified .
One of the major drawbacks here are the tracks, which are too wide to fit on this version. there were some refitted tanks around as well, so you would have to build such a vehicle.
It is hard to compare it to a Dragon kit, because a) which Dragon kit are we talking about and b) the price range is entirely different. It really depends on the individual model builder what to choose, thats why i made this review.
@@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling Are you saying that the tracks should be the narrow version for earlier Panzers ? The Dragon kit I would compare it to would be the the Panzer IV E.
