Nice to see this car brought back to life again there is nothing really like these cars anymore full frames are just not made anymore unless your talking about trucks. If this had been another car it probably would of been worst.
Thanks, I never really thought much of these cars until I rebuilt this one. It was surprisingly good on gas for its size and the ride quality was fantastic.
Seeing this video takes me back to when I owned an '01 Signature Series like this. Got T-Boned by an ambulance, & it was completely totaled out. You did an amazing job with this one.
Thanks, these cars were nothing special to me before. After repairing and driving this one, it did ride pretty nice and I was surprised at the decent gas mileage. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful cars i gad one for 8 years i trusted that car in the middle of nowhere without a cell phone, no money, for gas and still no breakdowns a car that would never die on me. I trusted this car 100%i took good care of my town car better than me ! I've should of never sold her i miss her. :(
Classy music for a classy car. lol These were pretty boring cars but I didn't mind driving it around for a while. The ride was fantastic and the gas mileage was much better than I expected.
I did a similar job and it was on a 2001 Mercury Cougar and I removed the engine, now watching you I wasted some time with doing that. it looked like way less access but you did it on a car with even less access so I know i didn't have to. Oh well lessons learned, great work.
You may not have done anything I wouldn't have done. This is a full frame car so the radiator support unbolts. A 2001 Cougar is a unibody so the radiator support is welded in. If there was any work to be done on the rails, I may have pulled the engine myself. If does make painting a lot easier anyway. There are always different paths to the same outcome. As long as the job turned out good, it was the right way at the time for you. Thanks for watching.
I recently upgraded to a 1999 towncar form a 1987 towncar. Wasn't sure I would like these newer vehicles but I do! Seems to be a great car, albeit a bit small compared to the 87.
In reality they weren't that different in size. The '87 Town Car was about 219 inches long and the '99 was about 215. The older car was a little wider and the boxier shape made for a slightly roomier interior I suppose, the formal box just made it look a lot bigger and IMO more attractive. The older ones also rode nicer. I was not a huge fan of the last generation Town Car, but compared to modern cars they are nice.
@@tyler2610 First thing I noticed was the front leg room. I have to put the seat all the way back to fit comfortably, the 87 I did not. Putting the seat all the way back makes for very little room for the passinger behind me. Seating is also lower, causing my legs to extend forward further. Still a nice car though. Not sure the engine will outlast the old ford 302s.
😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love land yachts 😍😁 so big and smooth rides ♥ I love that rocking after every turn lol I had an 89 Grand Marquise and that backseat was so big 😏😈
Havent subscibed for long but im impressed at the extent you deconstruct a vehicle to make the repair.ive always wanted to be in the car repair business but ended up being something else. If i would have reconstructed it i would have had alot of spare parts left over. Nice job. Im south of chicago about 60 miles
Hi, again. I'm 12 and I love cars I put an engine in my brothers car and have done tones of car work. I love learning new things and seeing your videos inspired to start thinking about collision work. How hard is it to get a cheap frame machine on home? Thanks! Ur da best.
I started out very young too! I frame machine is a big investment. I addition to being pricey, they take up a lot of space. I don't want to kill your dreams, it is good to set goals to work for but starting out with a piece of equipment that some shops do not even have might get you in over your head. You have a lot of time left to be fixing cars, don't burn yourself out. I did and had to take a year break from cars. I did this job with a come-a-long and a forklift. The forklift can be replaced by a tree or a truck. Basically the frame rack is just holding the car in place and allowing you to pull the damaged area. When you are learning, start with the smaller jobs and work your way up to the big ones that would require a frame machine. I didn't jump into the big jobs, I started with ones that are like the white escape video. You learn how and where to pull and look for damage in other areas not directly impacted. Ok, my grownup speech is over so to answer your question: You can order the quicksticks on line and have them delivered. That is about as easy as it gets. If you want a drive on rack, search Craigslist and Ebay. There are people selling used ones all the time and they vary in size and options. The attachments get expensive and you will require different as you progress. Clamps and chains are another big expense if they don't come with the rack. A measuring system my come with the rack like the one I use and that also adds to the price.
Wow, parts the right color. Makes a good ole driver. Those cars are nearly indestructible. There is a lot of these cars on the road yet. Thanks and take care.
The car was pearl white and the parts were just white. Close enough that I didn't have to edge anything but they did get painted along with the doors and quarters to repair 15 years of dings and scratches. They go forever, this one had 150k on it and is one of the lowest mile ones I could find. Thanks for watching, see you next month!
I just bought a nice 2006 Signature Limited LTC from Copart. (What I thought was) Pure body panel replacement job - Black on Black with a factory moonroof and 75k. Got all the pieces I needed from Pull A Part (front hit, no airbag deployment). Hood, fenders, Driver door, header panel, energy absorber, bumper cover (new eBay Chineseum). All in $500 in parts. Plastic weld tabs back to headlights. It just needs a tiny tug on the frame rail ends to walk both ends back to passenger side about the width of a toothpick. Metal Header panel is fine. cross member at ends of frame rail is kinda kinked and whamo'd, need to get a replacement and weld back on. Probably will take to a body shop and let them pull it back straight. This video gave me a bit more insight what I have in store - not too big a deal. Great job fixing up this white land yacht. I own a 1990 and a 2003. They really do float well and get decent MPG for their size.
Good luck on your build. I just repair what comes along. I don't have to like the car and to be honest I never thought much of these until I did this one. Now my opinion of these has changed. lol They aren't for everyone but I wouldn't mind driving one.
Hey. Question for you. At highway speeds do you hear any annoying wind noises? I know sometimes depending on the severity of the collision seams and welds can open up?
Wow, seems like the cost of repairs was a lot more than the car was worth. I just bought a 2008 Signature L in near perfect condition for 3 grand. Only thing it needed was a new grill which I picked up for 104 bucks on eBay and will install myself on Saturday. It's true what they say, they don't make them like they used to! Great cars at bargain prices, plus a 5 star safety rating! Fascinating to watch your auto body artistry at work, thanks for sharing.
Most of my car are total losses so the cost of my repairs are usually more than the car is worth. This really was a nice car and in perfect condition and the work was really easy. Thanks for watching.
Well some of us love our cars so much that we'll spend whatever it takes to keep them on the road. I've only had my Town Car for a month, but at my age, I know it'll be the last car I'll ever own. I've looked at the new cars, and there's not one out there I'd trade my Lincoln for! The lower cost in insurance and yearly registration fees will cover any repair expenses I might incur. Only thing I miss is having a stick shift and clutch :)
@@danielplowright5701 If the mileage scares you then find a lower mileage engine and put it on. If you want to keep the original then have it rebuilt or do it yourself. Those 4.6 Ford modular engines are pretty reliable. They do have some flaws which have fixes. Good luck!
B castro who said the miles scare me? I’ve retired a few town cars with insane amounts of miles way past 300-400k. I know for a fact the Ford v8 modular engine is very dependable. I’ve driven panthers since 1999 and will always drive a panther.
For some reason the new headlights you put on looks to be old used ones because they have a hazy look to them. Either way, good job! This is for sure a much easier rebuild than that Buick Enclave project you did.
They were the used ones that came with the parts car front end. We did end up polishing them before delivery but after the pics. I don't always do the hard hits. The easy ones are nice sometimes. Thanks for watching.
That is amazing, my left fender is all bashed, my hood was too but I replaced it I'm currently trying to fix the new fender to line up, I think I need a new radiator mount though.🤔
Thanks, they were on the brakes so the front end went under the car in front. There is very little support on any car above the bumper so it ends up looking bad even from minor accidents. I agree about slow driving Lincolns but no one is worse than Prius drivers in the left lane going 15 under the limit. lol
Have a 1998 Continental I’ll be doing the same work on, didn’t get hit near as hard as your Town Car fortunately. What kind of welder is that? Stick, or wire feed / gas shielded etc? Excellent video!!
The Continentals are a little different. They are uni-body so the inner structure is welded and it has a sub frame instead of a full frame. A little more work if you have to get into the inner structure but much easier if it is just panel replacement. The welder is just your standard mig, wire feed, gas shielded. Thanks for watching and good luck on your repair!
There's some special Panthers like the Crown Victoria LX sport or a Marauder that could fetch a decent price for being repaired. A low mileage last gen Town Car (newer like 09-11) is also worth a pretty penny.
Man the work you do with cars is nothing short of amazing, not to fuel your ego........ah fuck it, you are a car whisperer!!! PS what's up with the Frankenstang???
Money is tight but I’d really like to get a 2017 or newer Denali duramax, would you recommend getting one that was in a accident.? Your opinion is really gonna hold a lot of weight on my opinion, my neighbor is a body man with many years experience, use to own his own shop, does frame straightening.
That is exactly what I want. Of course I recommend a wrecked one, it is kind of my thing. lol They are still pricey even wrecked because demand is so high. Be careful 17 and up use some different parts than the 14-16. The frames are different, bumpers, hoods of course, engines and some little odds and ends. I'm actually going to try and buy one this week. I'm not optimistic, I try every week. lol
vehcor thank you for that great information, greatly appreciated, yeah maybe it’s not my thing if there going for top dollar, I’m up here in Alberta and everything is 2x to 3x the price, so guess I’ll stick with new used, under 20,000km. Do you get all your vehicles at Copart.?
$3000? I have the same car with almost exact same damage and this video has helped me realize what i need to do But i was hoping a little cheaper I do not need new fender fortunately so hopefully it won’t be much
The parts are cheap on these. Search Craigslist, Facebook and any other classifieds and you can get some better deals than a junkyard. If you can do all the work yourself, you can save a lot and these front ends are just bolted on so they don't require and special tools like a welder. It does take a little time and you may need a friend to help position some of the bigger parts so just start it when you are not pressed for time. Thanks for watching!
You will need a scanner to read and reset the codes. Any codes that come back are faults that must be repaired before the light will go out and the system will function properly. If the driver air bag deployed it is very likely the seat belt pretensioner(s) also deployed so those will also need to be replaced. Some modules allow you to clear the deployment codes and some lock up. If yours is locked it will have to be replaced and reprogrammed. If yours is unlocked, after all the parts that went bad in the accident are replaced, you should be able to clear the codes and the light should go out. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Did you happen to see the 2020 3/4 ton Silverado,? I’ve always believed in giving a new body style a chance, but honestly the front end on that truck is downright ugly and my opinion won’t change on that, check it out and let me know your opinion, the rest of the truck minus the ugly rims is really nice, but that front end, ouch I honestly don’t know how that got approved, but it does have a 10 speed Allison.
Yes, I saw them and wish I didn't. I am in full agreement with you, they are hideous. To make things worse, all bolt on parts are aluminum. I am all for weight savings and economy but there is not one manufacturer that has figured out how to keep the paint on those parts and keep them from corroding. They are going to look like the first aluminum F150s after a few years up here. I waited out the 07-14 body style because I thought they were ugly. Looks like I will have to do it again. lol
Do you guys in the states have to get the car tested or checked over before it can go back on the road... ? In the UK we have to have the car given an MOT test... good work BTW, great skill...
Yes, the cars that have a salvage title like this one must pass a Department of Transportation(DOT) safety inspection before they can be converted to a rebuilt branded title and registered. The newer cars have to go for a second salvage inspection for all the parts replaced. The ones with clear titles do not need inspections, just fix and drive. Some states do have annual inspections on all vehicles. Thanks for watching!
Patients, I have only been posting regularly for 10 months now and there has been a significant increase over that time. It may not look like it but it is growing pretty fast(800% increase in views since last year). It is much larger than I ever expected and as it grows, I contribute more time and effort to it. I also do not pay to promote it, it is all done though you guys sharing the videos, thanks by the way! Getting a video to go viral is like hitting the lottery but that would help! Thanks for your support, if I can keep up this pace, I might have 10k subscribers next year and 100k the year after but that might be a little too optimistic.lol
On most newer cars the seat belts have pretensioners in them. They are charges like an air bag that explode and snug the seat belt to hold the passenger. Like air bags, they only work once.
I hate rust and have limited access to the shop (only weekends and nights). A restoration would take months and that is time I could spend on other cars. However, if the price is right, I might me inclined to do one. Like maybe...... I don't know..........an old pick up that was previously restored and just needs paint and a small amount of bodywork. That is a hint, follow me on Instagram for advance notice of future projects. instagram.com/vehcor/ Thanks for watching.
Towncars, Crown Vics and Marquis are all the same. I'm not a Ford fan but they are fairly reliable and a very nice ride. The fuel economy was better than I had expected from the V8. I didn't mind driving this one for a little bit.
Sitting in a corner in storage. I'm in no hurry to get it done as long as I have it for next summer although the repair may be relevant with all the hurricane damaged cars so I may get to it sooner and postpone some of my other videos. I did just get some of the parts though. Don't worry, I will be here..... Probably featured in multiple videos.
Unfortunately, yes. It is slowly picking up, may take years to get 100k. We just passed the 1k mark a couple weeks ago and I never thought I would make it that far. I'll keep making videos, you watch and share and we'll see what we can do. Thanks for the support!
Thanks, time for a funny story and a life lesson. The buyer of this car bought 2 Craigslist cars for what he paid for mine. One was immediately junked because it was going to cost too much to pass the safety test and the other was repaired and cost more than this one. It has been seven months and this one is still going strong and both of the Craigslist cars have since been junked. While mine has only been used for 3 of the 7 months, it has seen more miles than the other two combined. As with a lot of the cars I sell, customers will pay a little more money upfront to avoid bad purchases and headaches in the end and in turn saving money in the long run. This car is a taxi so when it goes down, money is lost as well as an inconvenience. It also helped that the car was basically free too. This was also a southern car with no rust which is very hard to find around Chicago. So, I and the buyer would say, "yes" it was worth it. Show less REPLY
Another amazing job but, honestly. If the car was free, how could it be worth it? Craigslist is littered with these for next to nothing. Unless you do pro bono work! :)

Once the frame gets damaged I would just junk it or demoderby it out. Or strip some parts off it for another one. I would never want a car once it gets wrecked past the plastic grill and into the frame. Cause now it will crumble up that much more in the next wreck.
Well the only frame damage on this was the bracket on end of the frame that was completely replaced. It will hold up just as good as the original in the next accident. So you think it won't be the same in another accident but your idea is to take it to a place and intentionally get into accidents???? Interesting logic there!
vehcor well I lived in Los Angelo's and let me tell you drivers there will hit your car at 60 mph in a parking lot even though you did all your driving by the book . I'AM NOT BRAGGING BUT I HAVE DRIVEN OVER 150,000 plus miles in Los Angelo's with out even a scratch. Just door dings from when I not driving.needless to say I no longer live in California the drivers there are fucking insane. And yes I own 2 Lincolns . Both of them have not been hit since I bought them.. as for the previous owners well I can't say.
might have been , she just ran into something on the way home from Church one Sunday. It had to be low millage since its a 2002 getting redone. with high millage they would have sent it to the wrecking yard or used it for parts
Nice to see keeping the old bruisers going, most 15 year old (at the time) damaged cars would simply be scrapped now. Nice work

Nice video. Watching all the current ones that drop. As far as Lincolns go, I prefer the previous gen myself.
Great work.
This was great.. love town cars
Thanks, I must admit it was a nice riding car.
Auto body magicians...💪👏
Thanks
Good work
Thanks
Some of the best cars Ford ever built during this time period.
There's some special Panthers like the Crown Victoria LX sport or a Marauder that could fetch a decent price for being repaired. A low mileage last gen Town Car (newer like 09-11) is also worth a pretty penny.
I would not mind fixing any of them as long as I have a buyer.
Love this music
It is classy just like the car. lol

I agree with you i had a 1986 Lincoln Town Car i should of never sold her
I had it for 8 years best car I've ever owned huge mistake.
no doubt you are well skilled person
Thanks, I've had lots of practice!
Damn these cars are tough
Man the work you do with cars is nothing short of amazing, not to fuel your ego........ah fuck it, you are a car whisperer!!! PS what's up with the Frankenstang???
Love the video. That was awesome . Hat off to u brother. Where are u located . I have the sane vehicle with the exact damage
Beast, good work.
Thank you.
Is this really as fun as it looks??
All that work in 6:47. Amazing!!! Lol
Thanks
Is it possible to repair a car perfectly to where you can't tell it was in an accident? In the after photos, you can tell.
Thats amazing.
Thanks!
great cars. panthers take a lickin and keep on tickin.
Not a normal build for me but I did enjoy it!
Sir make more Pontiac Bonneville, Grand Ams,Grand Prix videos i love these cars thank you Sir.
I still bid on them all the time but it is hard to find ones that are profitable to rebuild.
@@vehcor
I think of that i learn something new all the time sir.
Hello 👋 I like to know where's your shop located? Thanks
Going thru my history from 2017 & found this 😅
Could you put a newer front end on it such as a 2003 or later with a hood ornament?
You can do anything with enough time and money. I would think that could be done with minimal modifications.
Do you get all your vehicles at Copart.?
vehcor vehcor also one other question, would you be interested in doing a truck for me.?
Most of mine come from IAA. I do get some from Copart from time to time.
Uh.................. interested in working on my favorite type of vehicle, absolutely!
$3000? I have the same car with almost exact same damage and this video has helped me realize what i need to do
But i was hoping a little cheaper
I do not need new fender fortunately so hopefully it won’t be much
Would be nice if you could email me just Incase i have any questions
Z.hunter908@gmail.com
The parts are cheap on these. Search Craigslist, Facebook and any other classifieds and you can get some better deals than a junkyard. If you can do all the work yourself, you can save a lot and these front ends are just bolted on so they don't require and special tools like a welder. It does take a little time and you may need a friend to help position some of the bigger parts so just start it when you are not pressed for time. Thanks for watching!
You can always email me at vehcor1@gmail.com or leave me a comment here which I tend to check more frequently.
Good job.
Thanks
An absolutely awesome pile of crap. I wish we had a local car like this to play with... Would have been awesomely simple to fix.
Good job 👍👍👍
Thanks.
Cool when you fixed the car the owner can have it back
Most of these cars get new owners.
You didn’t show the bumper installment
Hi my dear. I have tc 2011 i had an accident and i replace wheel steering air bag. Now to reset what do i need to reset srs light
Such great work I wish u lived near me I’d have u do some touch up to my 03 Perl white baby lue
Thanks! I wish I had time for more customer work. Hopefully in the future!
Looks like I will have to do it again. lol
love it
Thanks
I would like to see how you measure distance to make sure everything is right
There were no measurements needed, all damaged panels were simply unbolted and replaced, nothing damaged was left.
cxcMix This was bolt on repair, did u watch the damage and video?
Do you guys in the states have to get the car tested or checked over before it can go back on the road... ? In the UK we have to have the car given an MOT test... good work BTW, great skill...
Yes, the cars that have a salvage title like this one must pass a Department of Transportation(DOT) safety inspection before they can be converted to a rebuilt branded title and registered. The newer cars have to go for a second salvage inspection for all the parts replaced. The ones with clear titles do not need inspections, just fix and drive. Some states do have annual inspections on all vehicles. Thanks for watching!
vehcor thanks for the reply...its taken me back to the days when I rebuilt a 1972 VW beetle
Nice
Hey!! Some soothing music!! Not some deafning Metallica noise!
Nrg car my friends. Good!!
Thanks
idk whats taking so long for your channel too grow...
How much was the bill for the full repair?
$3000
Hey we’re you located
Why did the seatbelt have to be replaced???
On most newer cars the seat belts have pretensioners in them. They are charges like an air bag that explode and snug the seat belt to hold the passenger. Like air bags, they only work once.
Do you do auto restoration? Like not just repairs
Those cars don't have welds on the radiator support?
Nope, just bolted together like the old days of full frame cars.
Wow, I'm not letting go of my grand marquis. I see why late 90s panthers are still being used as cabs here.
Towncars, Crown Vics and Marquis are all the same. I'm not a Ford fan but they are fairly reliable and a very nice ride. The fuel economy was better than I had expected from the V8. I didn't mind driving this one for a little bit.
That looked like an easy one
It was, just unbolting parts with the exception of the bracket on the front of the frame that was welded on.
vehcor where is the G8 though?
Sitting in a corner in storage. I'm in no hurry to get it done as long as I have it for next summer although the repair may be relevant with all the hurricane damaged cars so I may get to it sooner and postpone some of my other videos. I did just get some of the parts though. Don't worry, I will be here..... Probably featured in multiple videos.
you get your used parts from LKQ?
Occasionally
Vehcor is still below 100k subscribers?
Unfortunately, yes. It is slowly picking up, may take years to get 100k. We just passed the 1k mark a couple weeks ago and I never thought I would make it that far. I'll keep making videos, you watch and share and we'll see what we can do. Thanks for the support!
How much was this repair?
$3000
Like a new car
That is what I try for! Thanks for watching!
How much was the customer charged for this?
$3000
You did a really good job on that car. But the real question is was it worth it?

Stealthy Wolf Full frame and not freak wheel drive; Worth saving.
Aiberg where you buy
I bought another parts car for this job.
vehcor ok you could pass me the place where i buy airberg please friend i really like your videos ok
🙋♂️👍👍👍

Couldn't hear you say ( in the pile ) in this video. Lol
Уверен во что врезался этот монстр превротилось в пыль
Pretend it's cool? It is cool lol
Make more videos.
Will do!
Ha Ha, now They'll sell it as one owner old lady car, only used on sundays to go to church. That's the way it's done. 😎
might have been , she just ran into something on the way home from Church one Sunday. It had to be low millage since its a 2002 getting redone. with high millage they would have sent it to the wrecking yard or used it for parts
