My dad has that old sketchbook still. It has an AMAZING feel to it and im super suprised it's not yellowed after all these years and the graphite held really well too!
I must have had ton of thoes like one a month during my childhood.
It was crazy to me how much she freaked out and called it vintage! My grandma kept the ones my uncle had as a kid and she probably has four.
Thrift store art supplies are actually how I started and they were always vintage
I think that's why I'm obsessed with everything vintage now bless my grandmother she always hooked me up

3:51 I just got an amazing idea because of this! I don’t think anyone’s done it before, you buy some random books or use some you don’t want, open up to a random page and draw the scene of the book on the page/pages where your scene is located! I can’t draw so obviously I can’t do something like this, but I think it’s a really nice idea that could end up cool if someone attempted it. :)
Thrifting is so good. It keeps good clothing out of landfills, keeps money out of corporate pockets and supports local businesses. I love thrifting.

Props for the thrifting. I love that you often concentrate on art supplies for the budget restricted. I love Golden and Liquitex, but I like utilities, gas for the car, food, too. I also love that you have respect for products that work, regardless of their source. Thanks.

I LOVE looking for art supplies at goodwill. I find tons of sketchbooks AND canvas. I once found General pastel pencils. Absolutely amazing, I recommend checking out thrift stores for art supplies!

Yeah! More thrift store episodes. I love it when people reuse old stuff, and I especially enjoyed how you saved all that old ink. You might be the one person in that thrift store who was able to make that calligraphy set worthwhile.

Wow, even with just that small amount of ink, the painting is gorgeous, the pale tones are quite ethereal. That paper is an amazing find. The roomful of books too.
I found a bag of yarn for embroidery at a goodwill only $3 , it had the original tag and that said the date May 27 1995, my birthday is May 27 😂.

@@yasmin9514 it's been a while but they were very difficult to work with. Sort of like coloring with a piece of plastic. Not much pigment, no matter how hard you press. And the colors weren't very good either. (For example the red looked more like a pinkish red-violet)

I sooo love my weekly trips to search for pencils. There is always plenty to choose from at Saver's. No other thrift store seems to have a space for pencils, markers, crayons and such. Saver's has a section set aside just for that.
I have gotten some real gems. Brands I hadn't heard of before I started my thrift pencil journey.
I really loved seeing what you can do. I am always pleased with it. I am glad that you are able to do this channel.

They are more then just church bulletins they are programs for funerals, well for the church I worked for. They didn't use the fancy paper unless some one passed on.
