    Complexity using coordinated pushes, flash assist and trading w utility along with restraint clearly showed why their run wasn't a fluke, Elige is like the glue bringing confidence and cohesion. From Blast Showdown to Proleague and now Sydney there's a clear difference compared to Cologne when he first joined.

    In terms of cultural impact this Faze roster was the best post-online era. The 2021 Navi line-up was a better team but apart from that major final going on the cusp of a third map, they ripped their opponents apart at every other LAN. The other international rosters just couldn't be as dominant as Faze were in that first season of 2022. They only knew one way to win and that was brawl it out. If they're in a ten round lead and you think you're done for, they'd just give the lead away, take you to the mud, have you flailing at them until you're tired, and then just win anyway. I wish I could see them play one more BO5 before they broke apart, because they have won every BO5 final they have played together, but it is what it is i guess. Time flies fast in esports.

    I understand thinking that Faze is the 4th most popular team in the world if you only look at jerseys or purchased products but I think they are by far the most popular team in the world across countries and borders. I was also at IEM dallas earlier this year and I saw more FaZe jerseys than any other team with Liquid being a close 2nd. One of the things I'm surprised no one ever talks about is how many times FaZe makes it to the final with the crowd on their side. I know this seems anecdotal but I am noticing a trend where every time a caster does the whole: "Which team is going to win?!" thing to the crowd, FaZe always has the larger crowd favorability by far. I think this is the Astralis/all time great team effect where fans prove ultimately that more than anything they just like teams that have win lol. Especially since most of the fanbase of CS is outside NA, to me it makes a lot of business sense for gamesquare to favor the FaZe lineup.
    Good content as always!

Because for me on an unbiased standpoint, there's not even a conversation rn! We've seen so many situations where Hallzerk took over the match and was the crucial fact that made coL win, and I'm not only talking about AWping... Osee has looked very good the past 3 months. I would rate him as their best or second best performer at least since the rainwaker and patsi additions. I dont think Liquid should keep him as Cadians awp is passable and his rifle heavy system improves the team greatly. I think he could potentially be an upgrade over Halzerk as his ceiling seems much higher among tier 1, with a probable lower floor.

    I feel like people are putting too much weight on the results of IEM Sydney, especially I feel like Faze got a bit overrated from the win.
    In the tournament Navi played without their star AWPer (basically 4v5), Mouz didn't have Jimi who was a star for them in EPL, COL, G2, C9 and ENCE had to play Showdown in CSGO just before Sydney meaning they only got like 3 days of prac in CS2 at most.
    Faze on the other hand got eliminated from EPL earlier than other playoff teams (meaning more prac time), got to play with their full roster and didn't have Showdown meaning they probably got a full week more of prac in CS2 and time to get used to the new mechanics (it was especially noticeable with Faze hitting their sprays way better than other teams).

    • @yomamaMTV
      @yomamaMTV 8 місяців тому +1

      I think CoL got overrated from the event more than FaZe tbh. They beat G2 who as you said played showdown and only had 3 days of prac at most. At least FaZe beat Vitality and Gamerlegion in elim matches bo3. These teams were ones that were definitely praccing CS2 according to HLTV reports by the time EPL rolled around and FaZe weren't.
      CoL also got boosted by the fact that JT had the event of his life that we'll probably never see again. He had a higher rating than some main stay star players this event.
      CoL will probably hover around 10th-14th in the world like usual tbh.

    • @electricplug1337
      @electricplug1337 8 місяців тому

      @@yomamaMTV True, at least Faze did beat some teams that have pracced CS2 as much as they did although Vitality were also without Zonic.
      Overall people read too much to the results and player stats of IEM Sydney, it was the first CS2 event and no one is fully comfortable in it yet and also so many teams had different reasons to not be on form. We might see completely different teams look dominant in the next event.

    oSee has 2 key issues for mine, one is the missing of simpler shots (almost draken like) while he hits awesome flicks and the other is the worst one and that is he can get lost in after plants, almost like he is too pre-occupied with what his team mates are doing.
    (which goes away when he solo clutches)
    He used to have a 3rd core issue and that was getting out support grenades at the wrong time but that seemed to go away when they stopped trying to make him play too supportive.
    I'd be interested to see oSee play a rifle + 2nd awp role, his clutch ability and rifle work is sharp, but would he want to give up being the premier NA AWPer to risk staying in Tier 1.

    • @yomamaMTV
      @yomamaMTV 8 місяців тому

      I actually disagree with the clutch ability and rifle work being sharp part. He's not a clutch player. Whenever my favourite teams play him, and he's last alive i know he aint clutching up for shit lol. We don't really see him full time rifle to come to a conclusion about his rifling skill either because I think that it's not just having the AWP which allows you to pad some stats but also the role and the positions you're in.

    • @yomamaMTV
      @yomamaMTV 8 місяців тому +1

      @angelofthenorthcoast Yeah oSee has been given waaaaay too much time to get better and he's almost 25.
      He should have been benched or sold to CoL at the end of last year at the latest but now he's not even going to get on CoL.
