thank you for demonstrating how every part of this bike can be serviced, it answers so many doubts I had about how to service my own vintage road bikes.
Same here, my first road bike, received second hand from an uncle. It was a quite light bike for the time. Mine had the shift levers made of black plastic (12 speed) Also the support of the seat was all plastic to be lighter, it broke during I was riding it...ouch...
Same here. It was a Gift from my father in 1985. I was 14 years old and It made me proud, riding this bike. Having this bike still in my property and riding still, last time one week ago. I won't give it away, because it remembers me to my father and the good old days with him, as he passed long time ago.
My sister and brother-in-law got “matching” Peugeot 12-speeds in the late 80s… his in a mustard yellow and hers in a metallic turquoise green… classic. i bought a late 90s purple Peugeot Origin mountain bike.
I brought a Raleigh Record off E-Bay for £40. Stripped it down and changed all cables and bearings and renewed a lot of parts. I was fortunate to work at a company that did powder coating and had it done in a nice blue. It was a superb bike and I enjoyed taking it out for a long ride. Thanks for this video.
Wow. That is the most comprehensive restoration I’ve seen on your channel. With so many issues to address, your patient thoroughness really shines; it’s this kind of approach that ensures, the aesthetic, function, and safety afforded by your fidelity to details. Great job!!
This was incredibly satisfying to watch! It'd be cool if you showed off the finished bike in its full form a little more at the end or even included a clip giving it a test ride.
So nice to see this one being restored. In probably 1980 / 1981 I bought the "grey paint with Orange Peugeot logo" version of this from my hard-earned paper-boy money, with a little birthday contribution by my parents. It formed the basis for my exploring our province at the age of 15/16. I loved that bike to bits, it got stolen 13 years later...
After my Grifter and a BMX I had a Peugeot racer just like this in the latter part of the 80s when I was in my mid-teens. I loved that bike but it was sadly stolen out of a friend’s garage. Thank you for bringing this one back to life.
What an outstanding transformation for the bike. The Video is absolutely brilliant. It is amazing to me that the old bikes had such great quality parts that are pretty much bomb proof. Thanks for the awesome share, a real gem.
I really loved the 87 Halfords Peugeot. Reynolds 753. Fully C-Record groupset, Campagnolo Record wheels, Cinelli cockpit, and Turbo Saddle. A true professional bicycle. This bicycle reminds me of 87 ANC Halfords Peugeot. Thanks for bringing it back to life.
Another superb service, really bringing this back from the dead (or skip in this case). Just goes to show how any bike can be salvaged and used for many a year to come 🇫🇮😎
I’m planning on getting back into riding on it! You’ll see in tonight’s video more but yes this one should hopefully have some genuine miles put through it!🧡
For those that tinkers w bikes. I guess they can really feel the joy or pleasure when the mechanical parts move and guide smoothly after all the cleaning and lubrication. Feels like mechanical gods align and restore the magic feel of the bike.
Wow, what a save from the skip and what a restoration, brought back many memories of my 7 mile each way daily commute to work in the early 90’s on my Peugeot bike, in those days I could eat a mars bar for breakfast and never put on weight, now I can’t even look at a mars bar with out immediate weight gain 😂. I guess like the bike I’m vintage as well.
Love the fact that you show that anything can be restored and recovered with a bit of love and attention. Definitely getting from the channel that you both love the classic bike restauration too. 🎉 Had a crack myself and bought a couple of scrap 80s rides together to be my single speed pub bike. Love it 🙌
Unbelievable to watch i used have a Peugeot Roubaix 1983 so brought back some memories what a gift to transform this bike back to original a true professional at work.
I have a 1982 Nishiki Rally roadbike, which I also found in a pile of garbage. Over the years it's been restored, and is one of my favorite things. These old bikes have so much character, and personally I just think they look stunning with the narrow steel tubing and chrome accents.
I do love these old abandoned bikes getting the full treat. It is by far my favourite videos. Thank you for very nice content - and some nice watches.....yes i also keep an eye on those! All the best from a Danish wiever.
Wow ! another great restoration. I must get some silicon polish . I have a few vintage bikes in my collection, 1984 Ciocc and 1985 Bridgestone 500 . Both have been upgraded to STI shifting and always ridden. Thank you. KB.
Loved this. Memories of my very first road bike. Little blue 5s Peugeot in c1984. Like this one, I was an original 1x drivetrain enthusiast. Thanks Gents, smashing work as ever 👊
Brilliant job, so good to see an older bike saved from the skip and given a new lease of life. Steel frames ride nicely, and the technology is so simple but effective
This is fantastic! I restored my 1991 Giant Kronos a few years ago and stripped the paint as well. I took it from its original black to a gorgeous copper while keeping a vintage motif. It's a joy to ride. Thank you this wonderful video!
I've got a Geoff Wiles that I ride at least once a week. Vintage 1984, 6 speed although some parts have been upgraded over the years, the wheels are still original. One of these days I'll add up the mileage I've done on it. Enjoyed seeing this Peugeot come back to life as I had one in the 70s! Good job :)
I had this exact bike as a kid in the 90's, my dad bought it at an auction for 40 quid. 30 years later I still think its the most beautiful bike I've owned.
AMAZING restoration and saved from the skip for 1000s of miles of more fun. I have one similar to this and it's really fun to ride, very agile and quick to accelerate. And mine's white as well, so a bit flashy :-) Great job guys and the customer for saving this classic bike.
I had one for 10 years. They where the best. Especially the original ones made in France.....other one where produced under license elsewhere....so-so. Glad to see one coming back alive.
I love this I've got a very similar 1973 Peugeot bike in my basement. It was my first big purchase from my first summer job. I rode it for years and really enjoyed riding it around in Brooklyn New York and later when I moved to Connecticut. I went to a local bike shop and they convinced me to buy a hybrid bike, but it isn't the same joy in riding. You've motivated me to go see that bike shop again to see if they can do a similar rebuild for me.
I like your channel alot. I hope to eventually start doing the same sort of activity as a hobby and this is a great inspiration. Very well made videos straight to the point and cool.
Great video! I rode racers through the 80s and this brought back memories. I don't know why, but I was never a big fan of Peugeot bikes. I had a BSA Javelin, a Raleigh Equipe and a Claud Butler before getting into mountain bikes in the 90s. I love to see old things from my youth restored and saved. Thank you for uploading this.
The videos of yours that I love the most are the revivals. Nothing like giving an old bike new life. I have an 80s Pinarello that lives hung on my office wall. To me the frame is a work of art.
I had a great time recently repairing a 1977 Raleigh Super Course in my college dorm. It rides incredibly well, achieving speeds i never thought possible when i picked up that rusty cobwebbed frame
I've been dying to retrofit my 1984 Vintage Bianchi road bike. It looks similar style as this one but with a front derailer as well. Oh gosh! This really gets me going, how beautiful!
Watching my dad road biking when I grew up made me appreciate these old bikes with those handlebars. Escpecially the simple frames that where used and the sexy color schemes. My dad had a pink Crescent that looked awesome. I would love to have a bike like this Peugeot today!
Love these bike restorations and this is an interesting Peugeot. Only one chainring and brake cable routed through the top tube. Oh, that's a TA bottle cage and good ol' Benotto ribbon handlebar tape. It's because of the videos you and your son do that has made me get interested in bike repair again.
What a beauty. Had my fair share of Peugeots in the late 80's to early 90's, they always took me on so many adventures as a kid. My "vintage" bike is a 1998 Specialized mountain bike that I bought new. It's gone through several iterations over the years, but I always kept that polished aluminum frame in good shape. I'm told it's quite rare...no idea.
Just bought my first road bike, a BSA Tour of Britain for £20. Taking it in for a service tomorrow cos it's been standing in a shed for a few decades. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it soon!
Thanks for showing the rebuild! My bike is more or less in that condition, even got the kink in handlebar. It's a 10 speed on a bianchi frame, a friend put it together from parts. Maybe I'll try to give it some love this Winter.
Another great and most enjoyable video guys thx. You really outdid yourself on this bike how it turned out,it’s amazing how these beautiful vintage bikes are . So glad you used loose bearings on this one.. As for me I still have my 1979 Raleigh Grand Prix from high school in top shape. Cheers 🇨🇦
Watching years of dirt and neglect get washed away just melts my stress away
Thanks Luke! We really appreciate it🧡
thank you for demonstrating how every part of this bike can be serviced, it answers so many doubts I had about how to service my own vintage road bikes.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching 🧡
That’s my first road bike in 90’s !!! Gift from my parents, very happy to see it into your hands, nice job ❤
That is awesome!🧡
Same here, my first race bike . I think it was 1987.
Same here, my first road bike, received second hand from an uncle.
It was a quite light bike for the time.
Mine had the shift levers made of black plastic (12 speed)

Same here. Nice to see it again, we spent a lot of good time together 😅.
Hi guys as per most of the comments I love it when you get an old bike in as it’s really satisfying seeing it brought back to life 🙂
Thank you for watching! We will have many more on the way in future 🧡⚙️
The old Peugeot bikes just look so elegant…must be the frame, very slender albeit quite heavy. Brilliant job as always!
We agree! The more we see the more we can appreciate them, they’re all very nice 🧡⚙️
My sister and brother-in-law got “matching” Peugeot 12-speeds in the late 80s… his in a mustard yellow and hers in a metallic turquoise green… classic. i bought a late 90s purple Peugeot Origin mountain bike.

I was fortunate to work at a company that did powder coating and had it done in a nice blue. It was a superb bike and I enjoyed taking it out for a long ride. Thanks for this video.
That’s a great story! Enjoy it🧡
My bike is only sixteen years old but it was a cheap bike with old school tech. It's given faithful service and gets me to work.
That’s what it’s all about! Don’t fix what isn’t broken 🧡⚙️
Old bike...my favourite...what a result - those close-ups are mint Simon!
Thanks Jason we too have watched the before and afters about 20 times lol🧡
OMG! That vintage Peugeot is very beautiful. I would definitely ride it on the streets of Montreal.
Thanks for watching!🧡
I find these videos to be great service to whole bike aftermarket. The benefits people get from these vids are very benefit for everyone.
Very big compliment thank you 🧡
What a time warp. I had a metallic turquoise version in '87. I have such fond memories of it. Thank you so much for this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!🧡
Wow. That is the most comprehensive restoration I’ve seen on your channel. With so many issues to address, your patient thoroughness really shines; it’s this kind of approach that ensures, the aesthetic, function, and safety afforded by your fidelity to details. Great job!!
Very very kind words there thank you William!🧡⚙️
That is a fabulous transformation 👏
Thanks again!🧡⚙️
This was incredibly satisfying to watch! It'd be cool if you showed off the finished bike in its full form a little more at the end or even included a clip giving it a test ride.
Nice job! Great that this was saved from the skip. Nice bike.
Thanks very much!🧡⚙️
Absolutely beautiful restoration. I'd much prefer to buy a bike like this than a new one especially after you've brought it back to life
Very kind!🧡⚙️
So nice to see this one being restored. In probably 1980 / 1981 I bought the "grey paint with Orange Peugeot logo" version of this from my hard-earned paper-boy money, with a little birthday contribution by my parents. Huh I have the same bike. I bought it last year for £20!
Gutted it got stolen, both me and Simon also put miles into paper rounds and know that feeling of earning on a bike in the wet🧡
After my Grifter and a BMX I had a Peugeot racer just like this in the latter part of the 80s when I was in my mid-teens. I loved that bike but it was sadly stolen out of a friend’s garage. Thank you for bringing this one back to life.
Great memories! Thanks for watching🧡⚙️
Brilliant. Good to see a decent wagon saved from the skip. What a transformation.
Thanks again James!🧡⚙️
What an outstanding transformation for the bike. The Video is absolutely brilliant. It is amazing to me that the old bikes had such great quality parts that are pretty much bomb proof. Thanks for the awesome share, a real gem.
We appreciate all the big compliments, yes these really were bullet proof!🧡⚙️

I really loved the 87 Halfords Peugeot. Reynolds 753. Fully C-Record groupset, Campagnolo Record wheels, Cinelli cockpit, and Turbo Saddle. A true professional bicycle. This bicycle reminds me of 87 ANC Halfords Peugeot. Thanks for bringing it back to life.

Yes we never can quite capture it on video🧡
Superb and sympathetic restoration, one of the best yet.
Thank you! Checkout tonight’s video to see it out moving! 🧡⚙️
Great to see the old girl lovingly resurrected, especially in this throw-away age.
Amazing work in this one. Congrats to the owner and to you as a mechanic.
Check out tonight’s video… I am the owner 😂🧡⚙️
Another classic saved. Great job 👍🏻
I had a similar bike back in the late 80s. Absolutely loved it, although probably have rose tinted specs. Brilliant job on the restoration chaps.
Thanks very much!🧡⚙️
Those Peugeots look so cool, you did a great job bringing it back to life!
Thanks very much! Plenty more on the way in future I’m sure 🧡⚙️
LOVE it. That's my favourite yet. I've always liked the simple colour schemes on those old peugeot racers. Great work all.
The more we see them the more we appreciate the whole range of Peugeots!🧡
Amazing - love these old restorations! Keep skip hunting! ❤
More on the way! We just need to find them lol🧡⚙️
I had that bike in late 80s ....sadly stolen and i still miss it....nice to see your rebuild
thats how to rescue a tired bike from the scrap heap 👌long live the cotter pin 😊🚴
Thanks Geordie!🧡💪🏼
There's a special vice you can get to remove them. no need for the hammer, which can deform the pins.
@@aq7705 Replace them after removal; they are too cheap to be re-used.
I’ve had my a long battle with cotter pins.
Brilliant job on a lovely bike from my youth.
Great to hear you had memories with this one 🧡⚙️
Wow, what a save from the skip and what a restoration, brought back many memories of my 7 mile each way daily commute to work in the early 90’s on my Peugeot bike, in those days I could eat a mars bar for breakfast and never put on weight, now I can’t even look at a mars bar with out immediate weight gain 😂. lol I understand the Mars bar all too well🧡⚙️
Wow that is an awesome transformation
Thanks again grant we were over the moon with this one!🧡
Love the fact that you show that anything can be restored and recovered with a bit of love and attention. Definitely getting from the channel that you both love the classic bike restauration too. 🎉 Had a crack myself and bought a couple of scrap 80s rides together to be my single speed pub bike. They make perfect pub bikes, that’s what all our customers use them for 🧡⚙️
I've got an late 80s/early 90s Peugeot Aspin, it was a bit of a mess when i got it, but cleaned it and rebuilt it and now it's usable again!
Awesome!🧡⚙️
Got the same bike at home... working on getting it running myself for the spring, but might get it fully serviced this summer, she deserves this!
Enjoy riding and working on it!🧡
Unbelievable to watch i used have a Peugeot Roubaix 1983 so brought back some memories what a gift to transform this bike back to original a true professional at work.

Great bike!🧡
So glad to see one brought back to peak! Things I haven't seen in years: Weinman callipers, cotter pins and simple nuts & bolts everywhere.
I do love these old abandoned bikes getting the full treat. It is by far my favourite videos. Thank you for very nice content - and some nice watches.....yes i also keep an eye on those! All the best from a Danish wiever.

It just needed a good ride. You went above and beyond to make this bike sweet! I want it!
Thank you Burt!🧡 I rode it in another video on the channel!🧡

In the hands of a craftsman, even the simplest tool can create a masterpiece.
🧡💪🏼⚙️
Love this. Looks superb and so good to see an old bike restored.
Thanks again Ian!
That’s awesome!🧡
I like your channel alot. I hope to eventually start doing the same sort of activity as a hobby and this is a great inspiration. Very well made videos straight to the point and cool.
Best of luck! And thank you🧡⚙️
The restoration is beautiful. I know it’s a simple aspect, but the syringe idea for the oil and grease is brilliant!
Thanks Scott 🧡
There are fewer things more beautiful than seeing a bike come back to life. Bravo, brother.
Glad you enjoyed it thank you!🧡
Great video!
We like them now looking back, they have some unique designs and are very playful 🧡

Amazing improvement before & after!
Thank you!🧡
What a great tutorial on general bike maintenance! Lovely video
LOOKS BRAND NEW WOW
I've been dying to retrofit my 1984 Vintage Bianchi road bike. It looks similar style as this one but with a front derailer as well. Oh gosh! This really gets me going, how beautiful!
Do it! Thanks for watching🧡
Watching my dad road biking when I grew up made me appreciate these old bikes with those handlebars. Escpecially the simple frames that where used and the sexy color schemes. My dad had a pink Crescent that looked awesome. I would love to have a bike like this Peugeot today!
Awesome!🧡
I applaud your efforts, cleaning and tuning up the old Peugeot. It looks a beauty now.
Thank you!🧡
Love these bike restorations and this is an interesting Peugeot. Only one chainring and brake cable routed through the top tube. Oh, that's a TA bottle cage and good ol' Benotto ribbon handlebar tape. It's because of the videos you and your son do that has made me get interested in bike repair again.
That’s incredible to hear, thanks for all your support again🧡
A Peugeot PGN-10 was my first road bike in 1984. This brings back memories. These 80’s Peugeots hold a special place in my heart.
Glad to hear it!🧡
Really lovely to see an old neglected bike turned around so beautifully
Thank you!🧡⚙️
That old Peugeot colorway is class. Nice work.

Great work yet again, loving your work as always.
