NIR 4000 Class DMU 4001 on Driver Training Test runs into Belfast Grand Central station. 12/8/24

With Track work at the New Belfast Grand Central station now complete as well as round the Weslink Central & City Junctions Testing & Driver Training runs into the New Station have started.
4001 is seen arriving into Belfast Grand Central station on the Morning of Monday 12th August.
Next 4001 is seen arriving into Grand Central shot taken from a passing Bus.
Next 4001 is seen passing Central Junction while running from Grand Central to Adelaide.
Next 4001 is seen arriving into City Hospital from Adelaide Depot.
Then Finnally the set is seen departing City Hospital en route back to Adelaide Depot & turning onto the single track Avoding line.
Grand Central is looking Marvellous & will open to public in Autum 2024.
the Station will have 8 Railway platforms & 26 bus stands.

Hopefully some time ill be in the new Belfast train station as its a very decent one which is way more better than the lanyon place one

It'll replace Great Victoria Street & Europa bus station GVS closed permently in May the bus station will close to

Is it true about the track being a different gauge than the Republic and needs replacement ..hopefully only a rumour 😮

Only a rumor cause then they would have to retrofit all their trains ie the ones in this video to run on that new track.

I think calling it "Grand Central" is a bit over the top. It invites comparison to the one in New York, which is truly "Grand".
