Which version of the Vamp is your favourite?
The MkII, mostly because of the canvas doors and roof. I wish it had come with the guns instead of the missile launcher though.
2010 Pursuit of Cobra VAMP
Dreadnok Ground Assault is my favorite
Yes loved the vid!!!! Also .....Sears in Canada you got The Cobra Combat Set M.S.V. . It was Vamp and the missile launch set but in all black with cobra stickers . loved mine !
I've always been a big fan of the Mk II, and the Stinger. Though, I do wish the Mk II would have come with the machine guns.
Also .....Sears in Canada got a Cobra combat set . It was Vamp and the missile launch set but in all black with cobra stickers .
yes the MSV
I honestly don't know how I missed that one!
I miss Sears!!!❤
This is the perfect kind of video IMO. Awesome!!
I’m gonna say OG ‘82 VAMP for me
Thanks man!
I tossed my vamp down stairs all the time, and still have that sucker.
mine also rode the stairs a lot, so much in fact that my dad had to JB wield the tires back on 😄
Same with my Stinger 😄
You were putting "sturdy construction for rugged play" to the test!
You talked about the Indian version, but no words about the Canadian exclusive M.S.V. Combat set... How could you 😂
I honestly don't know how I missed that one!
Awesome toy, first Joe vehicle I ever got. Great video Tony, thank you!
Got a vamp for xmas 1982. Loved that toy!! When I saw the Lamborghini military jeep, I got the real-world reference.
I just got my VAMP Mk II in yesterday. I only recently began collecting, and the Mk II is my first vehicle (other than my childhood.)
Kickass video Tony!
The desert striker was the first vamp variation that I got as a child but I’d have to say the 1982 original is still my favorite
Okay, addressing the Stinger tail... if I were a Cobra trooper, I don't think I'd wanna be standing there when Destro decides to fire a missile...
Awesome review Tony. You can tell the effort you put into your writing and presentation. Thank you!
Excellent video, review and history lesson. I was not aware of the VAMP until the latest Classified release. Thank you Tony. 13:25
I somehow managed to get my Classified VAMP pretty early when they were shipping to Australia. And yeah, blown away. I can’t speak for others, but I just don’t have room for any of the huge Haslab products anyway, but the VAMP is the perfect size to find room on the shelf but to still stand out, and heaps of fun to play with. If you’re a Classified collector and have been on the fence about this one, and you can still find one, do it. (The Gamesmen are still showing stock as I type this).
I hope we get more of this scale and smaller vehicles. I’m really looking forward to the Cobra Ferret (although everyone seems to have the silly Tiger Force version listed and not the proper one 😔)
Oh, and nice position for the shotgun. I’ve got mine tucked between the passenger seat and the console, but that’s way better.
The Classified Vamp is Awesome !!! The 1982 Vamp was my first GIJOE RAH toy. It was a favorite. I'm glad that Hasbro released one for the Classified line !!!
OK, Tony... Got a charge out of squeaky helmet. Great video as always bud! I unfortunately missed out on the classified VAMP, but I am hopeful for a reissue. hope the inevitable repaints start with the Stinger!!
Wow, first time i'd seen the back of the box. Look at that crazy prototype fuel can basket!
Learning that this vehicle had more variations in the past is pretty neat!
I am happy I was able to get one when pusle first put them up for preorder. Personally I think all of the versions are cool and I hope hasbro make all of them now that the mold is available✨✨✨✨
Sturdy is right. I still have my unbroken 1982 Vamp I got when I was five years old.
Neat VAMP retrospective you’ve made here. It may be a mold reuse, but it’s a mold reuse that makes sense. A good vehicle is a good vehicle, so using the same model is understandable.
I think you missed a few VAMPS though. Like a SEARS black recolor of the first VAMP that was partnered with a black recolored MMS and a re-release of the Stinger from the o-ring Retro Collection around a year ago.
Lamborghini Cheetah gets to much credit, let's not forget the FMC XR311 (JLS comics has a cool video that covers this) . Awesome video, Tony!
Really good vid! Informative.
Those 2011 SDCC VAMPs are amazing
Thanks for another great video Tony! The original V.A.M.P. was the only G.I. JOE vehicle I had in childhood. It was a great toy and served well in several adventures. To this day, it is the first vehicle I think of when I think of the toy line, and I'm glad Hasbro gave it such a good update! Now, if we could get an updated M.O.B.A.T. Tank, that would be friggin' sweet!
Loved that Vamp in 82’. Wish I still had it.
Excellent review and background of the VAMP! 🇺🇸👍
The S.A.S jeep was the first Action Force vehicle I owned. I always preferred having the little machine gun in the bonnet, over the later designs with it excluded. I remember converting it into a Cobra jeep using the free stickers from an issue of Battle/Action force.
As a kid I had the OD version as well as the desert cam. They where driven by twin brothers, Clutch & Axel
I had the black SAS one as kid with Snake Eyes in the driver's seat
I still have my original VAMP. I bet I put 200,000 miles on that thing. Now at age 53 the Jeep that I drive is a perfect color match to the Vamp
Even Hasbro, despite their many short comings, deserve credit where credit is due. Unfortunately for them it's few and far between.
Really great video, Tony. As the VAMP was my first ever RAH toy, it holds a special place in my collection and Hasbro CRUSHED it with this one - it is so much better than it needed to be - just a fantastic toy thatI haven’t stopped fiddling with since I got it. Super review!
Cheers Tony! Great Vamp Retrospective! Videos like this prove that you’re one of the best toy content creators on UA-cam! Well Done😎👍
Love that Panther.
The first Vamp was the one I wanted when the Joes re released. Mostly because he was the one that looked like the OG Joe I played with before. It wasn’t there so I got Grandslam and Hawk, while my little bro chose the Mobat with our aluminum can money. I knew the Vampire would be mine besides.
We beat the hell out of my Vampire. Even broke the back wheels off rolling down a 30 foot “cliff”. I still have it. I replaced the back wheels with an electro set wheel and axels. It also has model slide stickers of flames with some 10 year old boy painting details 😂
It is the icon of the ARAH line.
We didn’t have many GI Joe toys but we did have the Tiger stripe version.
I always loved the Mark II, though I prefer the weapon of the original. I never knew there were so many non-GI Joe versions! This is probably my favorite vehicle from the ARAH line. Great video!
I'm happy with my G.I. Joe Classified Vamp and Clutch looks very good a he's a great presentation of the 1982 figure, now i need a good discplay cabnet to store all my Classified figures.
Since I was a kid, I always thought the engine for the VAMP was in the rear. I was surprised when the Classified version put it in the front.
Hasbro’s business model of selling out of something before it’s even available blows my mind.
I recall eventually noticing on my own VAMP that only one of the two guns actually oscillated when you moved the firing lever, but the movement gave the illusion of both barrels firing. I don't know if this was a defect in my particular toy or if this was an earlier/later variant with a cost-cutting measure.
It wasn't mentioned in the video, but those Funskool Vamps from India are still being made today. They're very affordable, too.
The Vamp & Stinger were some of my favorite ground vehicles as a kid. I can only hope Hasbro makes more of the Classified version because it sold out before I could buy one. I've always believed the Lamborghini Cheetah was the inspiration, but after seeing the 2-seater FMC/Chrysler XR-311 prototype which predated the Cheetah, I think it's the stronger inspiration for the Vamp, aside from the placement of the headlights. Thanks for the rundown!
Stinger was my favorite. Can’t wait to see it in classified
I want this version in Cobra!!!
Nice video!! When I created mine, I was not aware of some of the versions that you mentioned in your video like the international version with Snake Eyes!! I have the same complains but this vehicle is amazing!!
Honestly my favorite version of the VAMP is the Cobra Stinger (Pledging my Cobra allegiance) , the SAS Panther, or the current day Classified version. One has to wonder if we'll get a Classified Stinger in the near future.
Fun fact, but in the UK Gobots comic series; Rono Machine. The is a page where Leader-1 is forced to confront the British military. Among the army vehicles, he is forced to disable, are both the Z-Force ATC. And two SAS Panther. This likely the comic artist just happened to have his hands on these two vehicles. And sketched them in to the pages.
There's an extremely obscure, like really really obscure vamp redeco I recently discovered this a few days ago that was made for a line for the Japanese character jaspion in Brazil surprisingly. Since I said it, it's not gonna be that obscure now
no mention of the Sears Canada MSV? 😢
I honestly don't know how I missed that one!
The Classified Vamp is so great it really makes me want a Mobat or Mauler to face off with my Hisstank.
I don’t remember watching before. Here’s an extra like. 👍
absolutely STELLAR review Tony!!! I am really happy with the direction the Classified design team is doing with Gi-joe. A lot of these newer figures mesh well with even the Valaverse figures now in terms of kit-bashing. Hasbro rightfully gets a lot of shit, but its always good to point out what they're doing right and you did a great job showing off the Classified vamp as well as showing younger collectors like myself what came before!!
Great video Tony, have to say my favorite vamp has to be the Action Force SAS one. Those colors really kick ass , would love to see a Vanguard in those colors but it would probably be taken over by the Swarm since black & yellow are their colors.
Love this new line but im sticking with my 1982-1986 line.
1984 version of Action Force's SAS Panther with the yellow rollbars for the win. G.I Joe gave it wings, but Action Force made it fly 🇬🇧
0.02$
I find that I didn’t want Tiger Force or Python Patrol as a kid because I felt they were lame recolours of the toys I actually had missed out on.
Now that I have all those original ones in classified, I mind the recolours way less and I find I can appreciate them for what they are.
I seem to remember a VAMP that came with M. Bison.
Great review and very informative.
Don't be surprised of a Tiger Force Vamp coming in the future.
That 12" Combat Jeep at the start. There is a discount store down the road from me that sells a similar looking vehicle for $50. I was thinking of picking one up to try with my Action Force or Classified. I have no idea of the scale of them. Not sure how they would feel with me taking a figure into the store to test it.
The vamp may not be Haslab, but it is pulse exclusive. So I had to get mine second hand for 2x the price
Very good review. I think the next "VAMPs" will be the Cobra Stinger and the Tiger Force VAMP, since they have already released the Tiger Force figures.
The latest VAMP is f&cking awesome, you are correct! I also think it is a good price as well.
Thank You Full Good video!!!
The original Clutch sounds like a National Guardsman.
I like the roof and doors on the mark 2.
With regards to the 1/12 scale Vamp: Wobbly wheels and interfering wheel arches are completely accurate to a real world "Jeep". For those unfamiliar, just google "death wobble" and "will these tires fit with no lift?".
I might have brought it if it was in stores but dont want to support Hasbro pulse when half the time the product sells out before it can even be ordered.
Wish I would have picked up more than two of the classified Vamps
The VAMP is one of my fave Joe vehicles. My first G. I. Joe comic by Marvel was G. I. Joe #5, and Clutch (along with General Flagg) was my first fave Joe. Clutch was also the first Jewish member of the G. I. Joe Team (see G. I. Joe Special Missions #2).
Much prefer the VAMP (Vehicle Assault Multi Purpose) Mark I over the Mark II as the latter only has a 4 shot missile turret; once all four are fired, that's it.
Hawk (the Real Leader of the G. I. Joe Team; it was Never Duke) oft rode in the VAMP, chiding Clutch for his driving. It was a good nod to the fact that during World War II, US General of the Army Douglas MacArthur was seen in the front using a jeep. Sure Lt. General George Patton was also noted for being in the front as well when possible, but old "Blood and Guts" at least had a better fighting chance as his command vehicle was Tank.
Great video sir.
Got to go with the classic look.
Gijoe Vamp looks like a The Lamborghini Cheetah was an off-road prototype built in 1977 by the Italian carmaker Lamborghini.
That V.A.M.P looks nice. i had to pick a side and i'm only getting Corba but do believe i'm going to get a cobra stinger. lol
I still have the Funskool MRF Racing Jeep
Something, something ammo cans...something, something ammo belts...something something.
What are you babbling about?
Ff 6 months and the classified stinger was the 1st repaint.
When I saw the Classified Vamp on Pulse, the pricetag immediately brought me back to the days the USS Flagg sailed US Toys R Us waters. It hit me that today, the price of a 1:12 scale Vamp w/Clutch cost pretty much what it cost to be one of the rare kids to actually take home the Admiral's Carrier. "Is that what a hundred bucks US gets you nowadays from Hasbro?" I thought. My next thought was, "Man, have times really changed!" Is that Classified Vamp a banger? Absolutely! Is it worth $100 to me? Not really. If I wasn't such a 3.75" o-ring guy, I might have bought one if it was priced closer to 50US, but then again, I'd have to remind myself that inflation, Hasbro's lack of good direction and the marketing of this line moreso to adult collectors than kids were the 3 main reasons I'd ultimately pass.
🤣🤣love the helmet demonstration
This might STING you for a moment but my first vamp wasn’t a vamp but instead it’s was the tiger sting. Perhaps this is why I can over look the colour scheme but I believe the advertisement in joe club made me love tiger force. But I getting side track..
When I finely got a vamp in joe lot at garage sale back in 90s I instantly fell in love with it and I had go out and try find second one. I have agree with you this is by far best classified vehicle out there and in my opinion they crashed it as in nailed it. But when I look at I can see but of GIJoe hall of fame rhino in it but still that is me.
So f you had ask me witch one I love most the awe striker or vamp well that not difficult because I love the awe so much more but that is geek in me. Great video Tony I enjoy it a lot great job have beautiful day
Great Vamps!!!
I dont know which company in the 90s made some vamp bootleg or something but it have like a glued weapons that wgen it crash they fall out but I cant remember what it really is
Boy OH Boy, It's a Hasbro Toy
12:22 what’d you call me?
Very cool.
that's a lotta vamps
No SDCC G1 Hound Vamp. It is just another recolor.
I had the original. Still the best one.
