They're a very sought after pedal and quite expensive. They make something called the Future Impact that's basically the same thing, but new and not as hard to find.
I’ve had 2 and they sound brilliant but are made absolutely awful, the circuit board is printed onto cardboard so if they just fall to pieces internally
I've always loved using pedals with my bass, they definitely give an awesome new dimension to your sound and are just fun to play through (Plus I got into using drive/fuzz from guys like Cliff Burton, Lemmy, Krist Novoselic and Chris Wolstenholme)
I really liked the malekko, had a very nice bitcrushy/ringmoddy sound to it. The seymour duncan comp sounded just perfect. Also enjoyed that darkglass harmonic booster.. definitely will check that one out in the near future. Nothing not to like about the Boss oc-3, but there are other octavers that i like more..
Pretty cool video, Patrick. Here are some of my personal favorites pedals from this video. ebs drive me crazy, sub atomic bass overdrive, Ibanez pd-7, darkglass microtubes x7, darkglass vintage microtubes, planet b locomotive, Ibanez cf-7 chorus/flanger, ibanez cs-9 chorus, and digitech bass whammy.
I thought I was a pedal freak!!! 30 years ago, I got turned down by a lot of guitar players because my pedal board was bigger compared to theirs, not as big as Bootsy Collins board..... My present board is getting there, next is a comp and a fuzz. GASSIN over the Smallsound Bigsound TAFM Fuzz. Thank you for sharing with us all!!!
CTC Planet B, Orange Fur Coat, Ibanez DE7, Ibanez CF7, Akai Deep Impact are all my favorite sounds of this and that would be a sick pedal board! Rock on PH!!
Hey Patrick Do you find the CS9 and the big game Solice State cranked gives you that DFA tone or nah? I know there's some other pedal companies that have tried to emulate the F800B Sound but I don't hear it.
Out of the drive pedals, the EBS Billy Sheehan was the standout tone to my ears. Very underwhelmed by the Darkglass stuff personally, although it might just have been how they were set.
Thanks for the vid. I wish I could hear each pedal for maybe ten seconds instead of 3. With effects pedals, turn only one knob 25% and it can sound totally different. Turn 2 knobs 50% and you have another galaxy of different tone. The format would imply a comparison between pedals and I realize it is more a feature of your favorite knob settings at the moment.
The B7K and Vintage Deluxe were by far my favourite drives (for some reason, I didn't like the Microtubes X7 in this clip). I thought the Grey Stache and Diabolik were the best fuzzes for each end of the bass fuzz spectrum.
Best thing about it is that the blend knob allows for parallel compression - squish the sound to get fat, even, massive low end, while you retain attack and dynamics. Can really, really slam it without sounding unnatural.
So like 6-10ish pedals that weren’t fuzz or overdrive.... expected more variety then a ton of fuzz and I have two fuzzes on my board so it’s not like I don’t enjoy them.
I didn't see anything from Zoom!! I subscribed because you gave a pretty decent review on the zoom. The only problem is that a lot of effects that you were saying what the heck is that sound about is alot better with the expression on the B1X !! Also the you can download all of the biggest names in BASS to the Zoom!!!
Awesome, but I do see a bit of overlap (subtle differences yes, but "a bunch of fuzz" "a bunch of phaser", etc, etc) - Any reason why other than pedals are cool? :)
I have several pedals and my B7K is by far my favourite pedal when it's time to dial in some high gain tones. For some cleaner stuff I'm in love with my Sansamp.
2:28 👍
Hi mr.amp
I was kinda hoping for a all 42 pedals on at once lol
Miles of patch cables for that, but still want to hear it.
Same! Just at the end one massive chord!
Sweet!!
rob scallon made a video using hundreds at once for a world record
"Its all noise to me, tone is in the fingers"
-Old guy playing a P bass with flats in front of 3 people at the local blues bar
Jaco only needed 4 stringsss!!!1!
Precisely
@@hansvonbohmerwald4404 🤣 Tony Levin needed three 🤣
All those dudes are truly missing out on how magical a light overdrive and compression can make them pop.
There was this guy on talkbass going on about how he can make a light fuzz sound with his bare fingers, as well as a chorus. Delusional.
The Orange Fur coat is a monster
The Akai Deep Impact jumped out at me as a fun pedal!😊👍
They're a very sought after pedal and quite expensive. They make something called the Future Impact that's basically the same thing, but new and not as hard to find.
Me too. Unfortunately, they're like $700-900 used.
I’ve had 2 and they sound brilliant but are made absolutely awful, the circuit board is printed onto cardboard so if they just fall to pieces internally
The Locomotive and the Fab Tone for me. Smooth drive from the loco, usable filth from the other.
"Locomotive" is the one that made me "woooooow" the most. I like the funky distortion really much
Akai deep impact sounded great, quite liked the sidekick too
Yet another kill. The thumbs up on the ditto made me laugh. Good work, sir! Vintage Microtubes + Funk Lite + Whammy Bass + C4 is my jam.
The Planet B sounds awesome!!! Surprised by the Ibanez fuzz too... I did not expect it to sound that good. Fun video!
I've always loved using pedals with my bass, they definitely give an awesome new dimension to your sound and are just fun to play through (Plus I got into using drive/fuzz from guys like Cliff Burton, Lemmy, Krist Novoselic and Chris Wolstenholme)
Love to hear you playing man
Keep on killin reviews! Best no nonsense stuff I've ever seen.
I like the Locomotive and Deep Impact.
The Ditto was funny, well played sir.
SO much envy for that Diabolik! Such a great fuzz!
Man, didn't expect to see the deep impact on here. Such a rare and expensive, frankly awesome pedal
awesome demo, thanks patrick !
Yeah, I was looking for a cool new bass pedal to add to my pedalboard and now there's about 40 to add
Trully impressed by that Locomotive.
that ibanez tone lock fuzz was my first pedal ever and i miss it so. that damage switch was gnarly.
Such a cool video. Orange Fur Coat is still on my wishlist, and i'm really impressed by that Ibanez CF7
Pretty cool video, Patrick. Here are some of my personal favorites pedals from this video. ebs drive me crazy, sub atomic bass overdrive, Ibanez pd-7, darkglass microtubes x7, darkglass vintage microtubes, planet b locomotive, Ibanez cf-7 chorus/flanger, ibanez cs-9 chorus, and digitech bass whammy.

Didnt see that Digitech Grunge coming 👌😂
CTC Planet B, Orange Fur Coat, Ibanez DE7, Ibanez CF7, Akai Deep Impact are all my favorite sounds of this and that would be a sick pedal board! Rock on PH!!
Thanks so much for the video! You are an amazing bass player! Waiting for new content 😎
I dig that Drive Me Crazy!
My jaw dropped at the Akai Deep Impact
I'm so damn envious of it lol
I was impressed by the Ibanez multi effect pedal. Lots of sounds in a little box.
That C$ setting was awesome!!!!
Fur coat sounded pretty good to me
that ibanez chorus flanger man thats sweet
I think that Tech 21 VT Bass pedal might sound better than the Ampeg SCR-DI
The VT Bass has been my bread and butter for like, 10 years. Such a good pedal.
I have it, and IMHO it does much better
That Ibanez Delay/Echo was way cool.
Hey Patrick Do you find the CS9 and the big game Solice State cranked gives you that DFA tone or nah? I know there's some other pedal companies that have tried to emulate the F800B Sound but I don't hear it.
For me the biggest treat was the AKAI
Orange Fur Coat sounds amazing on bass and the Dark Glass Duality is right behind it for fuzz IMO.
Wow! the Sonicake Boom Ave has a very Geddy Lee-ish sound!
All the Darkglass pedals and the tech 21 Vt pedal 🔥🔥🔥
@2:04 god damn! i have always wanted one they sound so dope! expensive and rare though..
Now put all of them in a chain together.
Lol great vid.
I lol'ed at the Looper.
Out of the drive pedals, the EBS Billy Sheehan was the standout tone to my ears. Very underwhelmed by the Darkglass stuff personally, although it might just have been how they were set.
i've always thought that with bass distortion and overdrive pedals they all pretty much the same and do the same thing.
My favorites were the Grey Stache and the Fur Coat!
The ADAM and the Sidekick are my cup of tea i guess
Diabolik is still the best ever. Bought that pedal because of your original demo and it's still my favorite.
That Deep Impact pedal is rad. Unfortunately, they're like $800 on the used market now.
Great video cheers
That Ibanez PD7 is my main pedal, i love that thing. I've also wondered how that SM7 would sound on bass. Which do you like more?
i really love that dream reaper wow
Love your videos ❤ Please make a video on how to use delay properly .
Deep Impact melted my face.
Interesting! I listen while doing other things,
Every time it caught my attention i looked over and it was an ibanez.
Dude, the tone lock knobs on those things are such a cool idea.
That Ibanez PD7 had a really cool, unique tone. I think I'm going to buy one.
I need to go back to GAS therapy after watching that video. Now repeat after me ... I really don't need any more pedals.
I was impressed with the Studio Bass, but I'll stick with my dbx 266xl for compression. I want an ADAM, but dont play well enough to justify it.
Deep impact is so good.
I want the C4 synth NOW lol
1:03 what is this pedal ? It sounds great !
Orange Fur Coat Vintage Fuzz. I really like it too
@@KirkBryson Thank you !
Also, to me the delay/echo from Ibanez sounded great.
my favs were the looper and volume pedal
Damn Chorus sounds good on bass 👍
Haha the only one of these pedals I own is the Ibanez CS9 stereo chorus!
Lite blue one called ultimate and the superdisruptor and fooz and deep impact for sure.....
this rocks
The Microtubes sounded the best to me, both of them. The Ibanez sm7 was pretty good too
Thanks for the vid.
Could you do a vid on the battalion?
Cool stuff but Holy crap, how many pedals do you need? Oh wait, it's N+1. Sorry, I lost sight of what's important 😆
The B7K and Vintage Deluxe were by far my favourite drives (for some reason, I didn't like the Microtubes X7 in this clip). I thought the Grey Stache and Diabolik were the best fuzzes for each end of the bass fuzz spectrum.
Would you recommend the studio bass compressor?
Best thing about it is that the blend knob allows for parallel compression - squish the sound to get fat, even, massive low end, while you retain attack and dynamics. Can really, really slam it without sounding unnatural.
I'm not a pedal person at all but i REALLY want the C4 synth since is release!!
0:26 I think microtubes x7 can using with metal projects.
Tech 21 VT, it is loud but elegant.
I want the deep impact pedal!
Those ibanez pedals 👌🏿
Ah, but the question is Pat- which is your favourite?? ;)
I think, Patrick as a stoner bass player in other dimension hahaha. So many fuzz ! Why not play on Source Audio Aftershock ? Many fuzz in one :D
So like 6-10ish pedals that weren’t fuzz or overdrive.... expected more variety then a ton of fuzz and I have two fuzzes on my board so it’s not like I don’t enjoy them.
Worlds best pedal in my opinion is the
W A H
Can’t go wrong with some good W A H
I was hoping for Level 42 tracks played on 42 pedals. 🙃

NO AMDEK? :(
Yeah boil
"You were so preoccupied with whether of not you could, you didn't stop to think if you should."
....and other dumb quotes old people like to say in facebook gear groups
Locomotive👍
Playing all 42 tone suckers.
Only kidding, cool vid 😉
1:02 What pedal is this?
Hi
Awesome, but I do see a bit of overlap (subtle differences yes, but "a bunch of fuzz" "a bunch of phaser", etc, etc) - Any reason why other than pedals are cool? :)
Volume pedal made me laugh
Darkglass > Everything else
I have several pedals and my B7K is by far my favourite pedal when it's time to dial in some high gain tones. For some cleaner stuff I'm in love with my Sansamp.
The most of them sounds equals.
Showmeyourpedalboards???
