Granted this movie is a comedy and a parody of the journalism life, but I was chatting with a journalism colleague today about what we missed in a newsroom. She shared that she misses "IT." This clip captures "IT" pretty well. :-D
I specifically searched out this scene for the line “ do you want to cover Brooklyn? Then cover Brooklyn but let me tell you a little something you can’t cover it from a barstool in Manhattan” delivered by the amazing Roma Maffia ~ I love her saying this line as she grew up in Brooklyn!!! Talk about underrated. #RomaMaffia
"Let Marnie talk to her husband... please." MacDougall wades in with the Al Capone approach to management: "a kind word and a gun will get you further than just a kind word."
I work in a lab. Somebody asked me what sample I was working on. I called out "3 - 0 - 9!!!" like Robert Duvall does. And then, I had to explain this scene to them.
Let. Marty. Talk. To her husband………..please! The script for this film was something else! Probably one of the most underrated and under watched films of the 90s
Always funny how the little things annoy me in otherwise perfect movie scenes. In this case: The reverb on the gun shot does not match the room - should have been a much dryer "pop".
VERY underrated film
huge UNDERSTATEMENT!
What I love about this underrated gem is that someone is always talking..much like a play
"When did you get so paranoid?"
"When they started plotting against me."
Classic.
Prophetic!
Robert Duvall kills me with the hour screaming: "THREE O'7!" and then "THREE O'9!" So funny!
That stood out to me too....hilarious!...thought he was going to have a stroke!...haha. I loved that movie!!
This movie and Spotlight are my 2 favorite Michael Keaton movies.
I've telling my friends about this movie for years. Great Movie
"McDougal, how are you?"
"...Why?"

The whole cast in this movie is outstanding.
I don’t read this newspaper. A line probably said in every newsroom in the world.
Heard the same thing from a publisher once. "I haven't read the magazine in years."
Makes me miss working at a crazy newspaper office. It's just quiet now ...
Just walks in with the stack of papers
and no one noticed. Love it.
I unabashedly love this movie.
Knew I remembered Keaton in this role somewhere else. Nice of them to cast him in Spotlight.
Yep, absolutely epic chaos with a killer cast at top form and the great punchline at the end.
This movie came out during my first year taking print journalism in college. So wanted this to be my future at the time.
"Let Marnie talk to her husband... please." MacDougall wades in with the Al Capone approach to management: "a kind word and a gun will get you further than just a kind word."
“A clipboard and a confident wave will get you into any building in the world!”
This movie is great... a "must" in my DVD collection hard to get here in Mexico :(
Robert Duvall was Marisa Tomei’s idol growing up. Great that she managed to act with him in this movie.
Her name is Roma Maffia. She was in The Profiler and has appeared in recurring parts in a bunch of shows, lots of movies, etc.
She was also great as Michael Douglas' attorney in Disclosure.
Yeah, that's good stuff.
Lynne Thigpen comes in looking for her stapler. She has to be thinking, "Where in the world is my stapler????"
Someone needs to post the clip where Keaton goes off on the Sentinel guy over the telephone. Classic scene!!
Done.
"Stop the presses!" is my favorite.
This movie goes down in history as A No. ! !!! Love this movie! The WHOLE movie is good!
Ladies and Gentleman, Randy Quaid as Himself
Does he need to be anything else?
Ok, now you're ranting babe.
Best scene in the movie classic
the best line "I don't read this newspaper" cause it's true. lol. I never read my colleagues' stuff. lol
The best part of this scene is the secretary barging in looking for her stapler!
Such an underrated movie
great clip. Thanks for uploading
Great movie, even greater scene!
Jesus Christ its like theres over a million things going on in Michael Keaton's office!!!!! Wow.
I work in a lab. Somebody asked me what sample I was working on. I called out "3 - 0 - 9!!!" like Robert Duvall does. And then, I had to explain this scene to them.
one of my first breaks this movie and the paper the movie showcases , I was trying to look older so it was Rodgers coffee and 100 Marlboro a day
not kidding
GREAT THE PAPER SCENE !!
3:23 I heard Quaid went off script and shocked his cast members, after this film, no one would hire him.
My favorite scene classic
"Sandusky is after me" - Isn't he a little too old for him?
This movie is second in brilliance only to Glen Gary Glenn Ross for dialog driven movies.
Another Ron Howard classic.....
One of the best which never made it. Keaton reprised his role later in spotlght
My favorite scene is when he goes off on Spalding Grey.
Wow...RANDY QUAID BECAME THIS CHARACTER!!!!!!!!
Let. Marty. Talk. To her husband………..please!

Aunt May and Vulture
And whoever Glenn Close played in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Someone should put the whole movie on here.
Always funny how the little things annoy me in otherwise perfect movie scenes. In this case: The reverb on the gun shot does not match the room - should have been a much dryer "pop".

yeah, what you said three years ago. 'cause I want to see this movie.
Yes that is/was the best scene in the movie.
The Paper is part 1
that girl is marissa tomei.. " My Cousin Vinny" along with Joe Pesci...
3:23 😲😲… 🤣🤣🤣
If it was Williamsburg in the early 90’s it would’ve been two “Puerto Rican” kids!!!!!!
Oops - I forgot she's also on Nip/Tuck!

gibranm Also known as a pager, it’s a thing that _beeps_ (haha) when you get a phone call and you’re nowhere near a telephone or a pay phone.
@@williamreid6255 : The fact he asked that question just made me feel old.
Shane dawson brought me here
Keaton and Close try real hard. Good film but a little too preachy.
Poop
