Keaton is to Batman as Connery was to Bond. There have been great ones since him but he’s the benchmark. Actual legend.
Lewis Wilson.....
I agree. He's my Batman
Excellent point!
Bond 007 I could say the same about Bale. Those movies have great visuals and lines but not everything holds up to me.
Everyone has opinions
Psst??? Actors aren’t heroes!!! 🌞
This is a great illustration of why I watch every interview with Michael Keaton that comes across my feed. He's effortlessly funny while keeping it all so completely straight-faced. The guy's timing is *chef's kiss*
Is anyone else getting burnt by these three part interviews where UA-cam recommends the last video after the first, so you have to go back to catch the middle? We really need a numbering system in the titles to these interviews.
Me! I hate it too.
been saying this for years wth how hard is it ? others do reminds me of the show 6 million dollar man and the intro
" we have the technology , we can make him ( it ) faster , stronger ( easier ) , better ( duh ) .. c'mon u caaannn ddooo iit
Oh, yeah!
It's not YTube it's the channel, others have convenient playlists that auto play list in order
Yes
The Academy owes Keaton an Oscar...and an apology. This man not having one is a travesty.
birdman should have won
Yeah good on you on having that opinion
Guessed IQ: 104
I doubt he cares. The Oscars are a circle jerk for millionaires and do not validate anyone's art.
One of the few guests who can keep Stephen challenged on his a-game throughout the interview. Very intelligent , quick, deep, strategic, and witty man. Not often we see Stephen so mentally engaged to keep up with a guest. Michael tested him. Awesome guest.
This guy is truly a great actor
HE IS BATMAN. PERIOD. The rest are just lucky to play him
This guy's dry-joke game is on some another level. He didn't break character!
keaton just slam dunked this part of the interview. completely dominated.
i bet republicans have 0 understanding of mr keatons humour here
Stephen mentioned his past as a comedic actor, Keaton obliged by doing a bit. That levelled up a bunch of times. That was several slam dunks. Stephen barely touched the ball.
@@ZombieInc661 ahahahahaha yup. Come and get summa this.

@@JamesFaction Stephen doesn't do irony--sarcasm yes, but not under-the-radar irony.
"Mike Pence, he's a great hang." That one flew over the crowd's heads.
Liz, yes it did!
Flew over my head to. Can you let me in on the joke?
@@Jax_904 during the insurrection of Jan 6th, some of the people who broke into the capitol wanted to hang then-vice president Mike Pence.
@@Yikes702 oh god
@@Jax_904 Keaton is a die hard Democrat, so the joke was two fold.
Hes always been my Batman! Love Michael Keaton!💖
Keaton as Batman in 89 was the best. He had a pretty good side cast as well with KiM and Jack!
I love how he segued into that Mike Pence joke and kept it going effortlessly.
I had to replay the segment - was laughing too hard.
What a legend
I want to watch Pence watching this segment, just to see if his face ever changes. Or if he will plead to "Mother" to make it stop.
That was a nice little flash to what he was like as a young stand-up. Felt like he was winging it until you recognized he had a flight plan.
It was even funnier that even though the audience wasn't that into it, he just leaned into the bit relentlessly. Savage
"Sorry Steve, that leg's gonna have to come off..." funniest line of my childhood. Thank you both for all the laughs!
Extremely underrated movie
Even the Simpsons used that line when Bart broke his leg.
People forget how funny Michael Keaton is. Night Shift one of my all time favorite movies! He was hysterical and one of his first roles.
"Pimps is an ugly word...we could call ourselves love brokers"
"This is Chuck, reminding Bill to SHUT UP!"
That's such an underrated movie
He is THE Batman. Modest, funny, charming. Not a total heart-throb/pretty boy, he set the (more) realistic standard of what a normal (rich) superhero would look and act like. There have been great Batman’s since. But Keaton is the man, mannn
The only Batman who could truly balance the ridiculous, self-deprecating aspects of the character, with the darker, brooding, more serious part. Every other interpretation tilted heavily on one or the other extreme.
100%
👍
Good shout.
Probably made easier as Jack Nicholson did the same thing but was able to be visually much better as the villain of the piece.
I remember when his casting was announced. the sheer shock and outrage was immense. a goofy comedic actor playing the incredibly serious and dark Bat Man? Was that a sick joke? no one expected a serious, intense, brooding character study from him. he laid most everyone's fears to rest and made an amazing Bruce Wayne/Bat Man. my first Bat Man was Adam West. :-)
Michael is brilliant all the time. His mind is amazing!
First off Keaton looks dashing. Such a great talent. Also You have to be preety off to piss off Batman.
My FAVORITE Batman!!!! When I was a toddler I would watch the 1989 one almost daily. I was so obsessed my mom made me a Batman costume for Halloween when I was three years old and when people would ask if I was Batgirl I would get really offended and say “NO. I’m BATMAN.” I hope I get to meet him someday! :)
Same, except I didn't have the gender confusion problem. I think I actually have 2 copies of it on VHS.
I hope you get to be Batman someday.
Holy shiznit! Was not expecting Keaton to be blasting off on Pence & others catching stray bullets! Hahaha! Wow!
"He's a great hang..."
"Total hang."
* slowly turns to an imaginary camera, blinks three times, then slowly turns back to the screen *
aahhahahahhahah
Oh my goodness that Mike Pence bit was hysterical! Hahahahaha so unexpected and so very good
He will forever be my Batman ❤️
Mine too :)
He was a good Batman. Despite the controversy that he was a comedic actor in the early part of the 80s.
The Batman and best Yinzer ever!!! Love this man and he’s been a true inspiration. With quotable lines like “We’re gonna eat a dolphin!” from the smash hit ‘Multiplicity’… this man just oozes charisma.
"Were going to pet a dolphin. "
"I got a wallet"
@@DorkQueen23 "I like pizza! I LIKE it!''
Nothing beats Beetlejuice..He was insane--ly funny..It just turned up on Netflix. I put it on my list Haven't seen it since '88.
I haven't seen it in decades. May have to give it a shot
Don’t sleep on the Beetlejuice Broadway musical. It’s so much fun.
Make my millennia!
Totally agree! I couldn’t believe it was actually Michael Keaton - he was completely unrecognizable!
Multiplicity too. One of my all-time favorites.
2:42
The precise moment Stephen Colbert realizes that he's been dumped into the Improv Twilight Zone, and that Keaton is using him as a comedic Whetstone.
This dude was the best Batman.
Micheal Keaton was my entire childhood 🥺🥺🦇🦇🦇🦇The GOAT Batman
Everything Michael Keaton is working on turn out great.
I really enjoyed him as the McDonald's snatcher 😁
He saved my life with Batman (1989)
:) :) :)
God bless Michael Keaton in every way :)
You fargin iceholes, Johnny Dangerously will always be my favorite Keaton role.
Crazy as it seems, some people have never seen that movie, not even once.
He was criminally (pun definitely intended) overlooked in The Other Guys.
To me that's one of his funniest roles to date.
LMAO!! Keaton just goes right off the rails !!!😅
Multiplicity, a copy of a copy just don't come out as clear. Classic
Me seeing it's an interview: I don't know if I have time for-- ooo Keaton? Maybe I got a little time.
Best. Batman. Period.
Those are fighting words, my friend.
Agreed!!! 💜👏🏻🥳 And Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman… stellar!!!
“Batman” and “Batman Returns” will forever be two of my top favorite movies. 💗
Facts
Might I mention Kevin Conroy.
@@CyberController- oh, absolutely 💯 but as far as movie Batman....Michael Keaton. Hands down best Batman
Mr. Mom in the 80's was hilarious!

Indeed still the best Batman. I used to watch Batman Returns soooo much. (Had that vhs, bit not the first one as a kid, lol)
He is a legend.
First film I saw Mr Keaton in was Night shift with Henry Winkler. Dead Funny
Michael IS, and will always be MY Batman!
HE IS BACK!!!
Honestly outside of animation - the only actor to truly nail the eccentric playboy and Batman while doing different voices for each. Kilmer's is too serious as is Bales (or he's just goofy in a couple scenes), Clooney was well... just himself, and Affleck was a close second, but I feel if he were in better written films, he'd have been as good or maybe better. And then Adam Wests is just great as it's own thing. But one of my favourite scenes is when he comes in to the armoury where Vicki and Knox are, just following them silently as they make fun of him, finally cuts in with "It's Japanese", 'How do you know', "I bought it in Japan" and just the whole thing through "Oh, and uh, get Knox a grant".
I love that scene!! "Who's this uh..... King of the wicker people? " knox cracked me up
I love how Keaton and Stephen were only doing that last bit for themselves. Good stuff.
''This guys loove Wu-Tang Clan.''
gold words Batman.
Always and forever my Batman. Incomparable.
Keaton brings batman to life .I loved his character as batman and nails it for me . He really is the only batman i loved the most when I watched his batman movies I was alway copelled to see him wear the Iconic suit. I so happy that he got his comeback is so special and I will always love his movies are my favortite man .When it comes to batman keaton does it so well.
Talk about a comic legend. I think Batman overshadowed that part of his repertoire 😂
I remember when I saw he was cast as Batman and I expected Batman to be a comedy like the 60s TV show. When it was serious, my respect for Michael Keaton grew. He really nailed it.
I see all these comments about all the roles MK has played over the years and he has played a TON of great characters, but I haven't seen anyone mention the movie, "Gung Ho". It's kind of an underrated film, in my opinion. I believe it came out in the mid-80s and is a comedy about blue-collar, American auto-workers, whose company is being bought out by a Japanese auto company. I always loved watching it when I was a kid and it has a bunch of familiar faces from 1980s Hollywood. If you've never seen it, give it a watch. I'm sure it's out there streaming in the interwebs, somewhere. :)
1986. And the rest of the cast seems to be faces you'd recognize, but not remember the names that match.
It was an awesome movie. Being from the Rust Belt and a teenager in the 1980s, important to my personal chronology.
Are you talking about Mr. Mom?
I'm usually disappointed I don't see people referencing Johnny Dangerously, lol. I love silly, slapstick movies like that. It's one of those movies that's so full of jokes and visual gags that you can watch it a dozen times and still notice things in the background that you've missed.
@@jenitoten2212
No, they're talking about Gung Ho, like they literally stated outright in the comment you're responding to. Read.
Ladies and gentlemen, USA, this is sarcasm!!,.. 😂
He isn't vengeance...HE IS BATMAN
Wtf is Michael Keaton on? 🤣 felt like he was taking us on his acid trip as he describes it
same vibes.. I thought maybe he had a few drinks or took a primo rip before going on 🍻💨🤘🤣
Haha yeah he seems a bit loose, but yea, great batman, and the main reason to watch the new movie imo
This man said Pence was twerking 😂😂
"I'M BATMAN!" 🦇
I’m old. Adam West is always going to be Batman. Plus he was such a nice man. He went skiing every year at Timberline on Mt. Hood Oregon. He was kind and interested in every minimum wage employee.
Bless his heart. Loved him as a voice actor on family guy.
He didn't need a plastic molded suit to improve his physique, pure West. And how come Batman doesn't dance anymore, remember the Batosky
@@666t ...omygosh...so funny!

I can't believe he is 70 years old ! (2022) strength and good shape still.
The only actor who did Batman/Bruce Wayne right. So excited for him to return to Bat suit!
what a fucken legend
Just realised that you can literally hear his stubble brushing the collar and now I can‘t unhear it lol
What a beautiful sight to see Mr. Keaton. The best of the best...💞
Really!? The audience didn't recognize the "Hang" joke? Or maybe they were surprised by it.
Keaton didn't seem to notice it either.

Revisited Pacific Heights a couple weeks ago, awesome movie. It's some of his non-comedic roles that really stand out to me, he really does make an amazing 'bad guy'
desperate Measures is another one where Keaton plays a sadistic prison convict.

I love him, so funny! Bat man, Beetlejuice and Multiplicity.
Now he is putting them back on. Cant wait.
Wrong car though.
My first Keaton flick was Birdman. Dude is legendary in my eyes forever.
30 Years ---"Batman" WOW... how the time flies!!!
There’s a clue in his name to one of his heroes - Buster Keaton. His real name is Michael Douglas.
That 1989 movie featured - hands down - the best Batman, the best Batmobile, the best Batwing, the best Joker, etc. I can tell by reading through the very few comments allowed on the Yahoo article this clip was posted in, just how young the people commenting are. "He looks silly in that costume," "He should be wearing Depends," blah, blah, blah. Stick to your TikTok, kiddies, and let the adults in the room converse.
2:30 was when the acid kicked in for me. Anybody else?
Wow that was truly hilarious, what a genuine legend
There is a Multiplicity of Batmen
He’s hilarious! I loved him in Mr. Mom!
...and now He's IN!!!
Mr Mom is a Keaton classic.

Seriously underrated Pence jokes.
Bring back Michael Keaton as Batman for a Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns film. He looks bang on like that Batman in the comic now
There's already an excellent animated adaptation, which is quite faithful to the original...
