  • Look at this amazing, eclectic stash of classic cars up for auction at NCM Auctions, Lancashire UK. The story goes they were all stored in one location from 1980s, until being collected to be auctioned off. Some very rare cars such as a Merc 220 SE Royale, Daimler Coupe, Lancias......and hell, theres even a Hustler......dont Hustle with a Hustler.

Pete, just wanted to say a great Big Thank you for posting the video on all the classic cars for auction.
Have just finished watching and it was like being there in person.! But without having to do all the trudging round and fighting off the cobwebs and mice homes.!!
As a motor vehicle mechanic apprentice back in the 70's
I worked on a lot of the cars you viewed. Mainly Rootes, Humber,Commer, Singer , MG, Triumph, Hillman.
    Thanks Pete.C

That was awesome, thanks for sharing. I think a fair few of them are going to get rescued, if they'd been left a few more years I think a lot of them would have been goners. Some real gems there. I wish I could save them all.

Great video! I'd love to know more about the collection. They don't seem to be accident damaged, just collected and sadly left to rot, what a shame. Tarps aren't expensive. I'd like the cheeky little mini van, both of the XJ-C's, the silver Scimitar, the Bristol, the 1300GT,Silver Shadow, and the Super Snipe. And a few more. Cars used to have character!

To have left those cars to rot when there's any number of people who'd have cherished and looked after them is nothing short of criminal. I enjoy seeing old cars kept alive and no longer have the interest, time or patience to deal with them myself. Pleased there are people out there keeping the classics alive, respect.

with all these classics being pulled out of sheds and barns, makes me wonder how long the government will keep the 40 year VED & MOT exemption and don't push it up to 50 or 60 years. I don't think the government ever envisaged the big resurgence in bread and butter classic cars being worth lots of money and fueling a bubble

    @stevenc5227 4 роки тому +1

You should be wearing a mask, sitting in those vehicles with that mould is dangerous. Most of these cars were killed by rust before storage and now apart from a couple of rare ones will only be good for scrap, also no history, logbooks or keys. These cars may have been scrapped already years ago and you cant put a scrapped car back on the road and you probably wont find out until you try to register it. I doubt whether there are any good parts left on them for spares.

@@PeteCswampy The Merc is definitely worth saving providing its not registered as scrap, also the condition looks a lot better than most of them. The rest will cost more than they are worth to restore. The escort Cosworth could be £40k plus when restored, but just getting parts for restoration is going to be hard and expensive.

Rose tinted specs on there Pete, most of the stuff there is completely beyond saving, and many will be bought as ringing kits by undesireable types, That AustinMorris J series Paralanian camper is a god case in point. Auctions like this sadly feed the seedy side of the classic world, and to be brutally frank, a good 60% of that lot really need to be taken to an authorised fraggers and what parts are salvagable sold on, then the remains along with the VIN tags destroyed.

it is amazing how people in the comments all get soppy about these getting left to rot ...by rights these shouldn't exist at all .. most of the cars have long gone from the roads..so even a rusty example of some of the cars is a bonus, in few years your granchildren will be sobbing over the rusty remains of a Rover 200 for instance... that someone left on their back garden in 2016 due to HG failure and blaming us for not saving that car " and letting it rot" ... ... a car which is fucked and worthless now, probably just like THOSE cars when they were laid up . Do you all seriously think that a guy in 1973 who's Corsair is knackered is gonna think twice about dumping it and getting another one when there where so many on the road... I doubt what people think in 2019 was on his mind.

So much nostalgia there. Plenty of cars there that I have memories of driving or being driven in and some rare ones that I haven't even seen before.

pete that fulvia isnt rare theres about six of the 2s that were produced before it for sale on one website alone.Without sounding rude but a lancia was more of a specialists motor and were not bought by todays mondeo man that was yesterdays sierra and cortina man. They were more rare on our roads than henrys dustbins by a ratio of 10 to 1 most likely but the class of owner and new price was far greater.Sadly these fetch far less than a cortina mk 3(15-18k) as the people that bought them are less likely to be a pratically minded person with engineering skills to restore and hence the love for them is less. Its a sad indictment of society that mass produced rubbish from a certain period has now taken over from what was a more styled refined car of its era when it comes to a restored classic.Hence why i can see you loving the fords but missing some more of the rarer cars amongst this collection.I love your videos as i do like certain fords just nothing past about 1980 yet the 1991 coworth escort which by fords terms is a rare car was clearly loved by you.If you are going to produce a video like this a less of a bias towards what you know day in and day out and research where the money is amongst the rarer ones and the only one you really singled out of those was the merc 220 by pure chance possibly. Thanks for sharing just wish you hadnt of missed the money.

Great video, I restore classic Triumph TR 2 3 4 5 6 in France, most weren't viable, the Cosworth, and the solid 220 Merc, the 1300 GT in Topaz, "best colour" the Jag Coupé I would have jumped at.. Were the Fords REAL Lotus or just striped up ??

hmmm well its a ford and its got a c in the name hmm pete c next project? a 50's corsiar? hmm?
mk2 cortina 1600 e that's a rare beasty! looks to be in good shape hell even if it goes for parts, most of those had there engines nicked from the scrapyard in the 80's and 90's, well its a mk2 cortina but its a cortina,
oh my dad old 406 97' puegoet had one of those removable radio cassettes meny a good time spent listening to tapes only down side was it trashed my thin lizzy live n dangous tape boo got confused and had auto turn over as in would play the other side when it ended, still good also russain ciggy's nice country town ciggys "lights on up" hmm that fine old age,
oh dear a lancia hmm must be one of those "returned" ones as in rusted away as it was sold looks rusty like a true lancia should, oh another lancia oh with the added wooden bits of wood to stop it folding from the rust or to add extra protection from the elements? either way rust bucket but dam fine machines,
lovely old mg mageette lovely 50's cars very rare as they didn't live long after the mgb sports cars came out,
whoever had these liked his 80's bmw's as there are a lot there, those will sell quickly, even rusty ppl will restore them as there quite rare now, as they were either trashed by the yuppies or loads of money ppl or were just thrown away when the new bmw came out,
here we go mk2 and mk1 lotas cortina if it still has the engine yse that'll go but if its just the shell then sadly no, EVEN RARER! mk2 cortina lotas! if it still has the engine looks to of been stripped out though,
that'll go for silly money mk4 escort cosworth, as ppl go mad for those now if its in good shape just depends on if it was looked after by someone that knew how to use it or had money, or if it was brought for our son and he drove it to the max red lined it and its knackered,
nice merc pete but you'd have to sell one of your babies (cortina's that is) just to buy cetain parts that's why there are so meny merc on the market there either very thrusty beasts or if a part fails/going its can be very costly,
now there's an oddity the 6 wheeled range rover thoughgt they were only done in red and were used by the fire service? macthbox made one, as i have it,
lovely old volvo amzone, wonder if the volvo graveyard person will take that if no one wants it? i know my dad goes past it each night comming home,
oh it was a lancia not a bmw 2002 my bad welp just show how rotten it is!
lovely cromer or bedford camper hope that goes to a good hme seen to meny of those or same era end up on the banger tracks,
looks to be quite a few were stored at the back and some were at the front, just a shame looks to me as if vandals got in and they started but were caught or ppl told them off or distrubed them and they checked inside only to find this lot might be the owner wasn't living an more or had been put into a home so this was his collection shame but lovely to see,
hmm might be an dealer ship? as most of the cars there seem to be 90's esk mot or taxed plus there was a 90's slk in white so might be it shut up shop in the 00's? hard to tell but still another great day out with pete c

saw some of these on my mums facebook page, most will be saved but most will go to the banger track or be parted out as there were a few that looked beyound saving the bmw 2002 with the snapped firewall or just snaped that is parts, others looked okay,
i think the other question is why were you there pete? a cortina in there that your eagle eye spotted?
