+Janine Louvel I also feel the same way. I was a teenager back then, and this song reminds me of my beloved big brother who died when I was young. Placebo was my favourite band. We used to listen especially this version together. And again - "wihtout you I'm nothing" my brother. RIP David, and all loved souls.
I want you and everything you say just makes me want You and every single day I just want You in every single way and I just want You and I'm just lost
I am 23 and I just started listening to David Bowie because I heard his new Blackstar song and that led me to this. My God! What the fuck is this??!! This shit is amazing.
+TDE TDE This is Placebo. Bowie was a huge supporter of their music. He did an EP with them and also performed 20th Century Boy with them at the Brit awards many moons ago. That was another great performance which you can probably find here on UA-cam.
+TDE TDE I feel for you. If it makes any difference, I cried, and most of my friends did. We shared Bowie's songs, we drew pictures, we made tribute playlists... and I realised that Bowie had brought us all together. The internet was one big support group, and it was all because we love this man so much. I'm crying writing this - but really, Bowie's gift to the world was to show us all that we can be whatever we want, and that his music is anything to anyone. Take that inspiration, and do something great with your life. David would be proud that he has a fan like you.
I love watching Stefan's face in this video. He can't stop having cheeky glances at David every 2 mins like "fuck me I need to keep looking at this to remind myself it's actually happening", and then as the song progresses David is getting more and more into it.....just magic. You can tell Bowie was really into it and loved the band. I can't imagine what that felt like for them x
@@enricovankeeken9503 You have to compare the body of music. In a straight comparision, there is no real comparision. Taste in music is not a competition. It's all about the music. Bowie is/was a huge music fan and was the champion of many up and coming bands. He wouldn't have been singing this song thinking "I'm gonna out do Brian". It wouldn't have crossed his mind. He got rid of the ego that surrounds megastardom decades ago. And the people I've met who had the fortune to meet him said he was just an incredbly friendly man.
Brian serenaded me through the loneliest and darkest time of my life, as a little girl in a broken home... this whole band was my escape from a reality I could barely cope with. Only reason I seldom listen to Placebo anymore is because the emotions it invokes in me are so intense, the memories and flashbacks and those old feelings I've tried so hard to leave behind all come flooding back... but the respite their music provided me during the worst time of my life, I will never forget. Thank you all for your hard work helping people. Also, this band is incredibly huge and has made a massive impact. The reason David sang with them is because they're so incredible and legendary; this band is sure to go down in history to never be forgotten. This was always my favorite version of this song. It always made me smile. Today...today, it did not. One day, and soon, I hope, it will fill me with joy again, but today...today is not that day.

This song means a hell of a lot to me. Never listened to Bowie apart from what was put in front of me, but it doesn't take much to know that he was a good soul. It makes me both very happy yet at the same time, very sad, to see David and Brian having such a good time. RIP.
Bowie adds such a haunting quality to this song. And it's so lovely to see this footage of them performing together - where/when was this, does anybody know?
this song really hurts, i mean REALLY get to my soul! but eventhough i kind of feel happy and ready to take on the world after listening to this song. i can't derscribe it fully in word, it's kind of a psychadelic experience. i bow down to bowie and the guys from placebo, this is a song i listen to when i'm in my ''dark mode'' (happens way to often) and it kind of getting me out of dark mode and more into a more reflective mode where i can see the light of life. i really don't know what to say about this song other that it actually regurally changes my life for the better

Tik Tok, Tik Tok etc...... David just dives into this beautiful song. Sometimes, some singers seem to be destained (?) to meet & melt together. With Brian Molko & David Bowie this is surely the case. Thanks!
brian molko here delivers the voice of a suffering young lover, and david bowie completes it with a wise man's deep wounded tone.
You nicely express in words the emotions in their voices.

How in the hell is it possible that this song keeps sending shivers down my spine, no matter how many times I play it?
That's because it's perfect.
