He is the one who made me dream about reaching the NBA. With his “guy next door” body. One of the most underrated player ever. Beat Kidd, Nash, Paul, Williams in their prime and kicked some youngsters’ butts like Lillard, Irving, Rondo or Westbrook. Top 3 PGs of all-time behind Magic and Curry for me. Won more than Nash, Paul and Kidd combined.
Agree mate, so underrated, fearless, which point guard was going at bigs in the paint like that ??? None ! he beat all those guys while being written off on defense . Spurs system and unselfishness while allowing to be flashy ultimately made a better team ❤
TP lead the league in points in the paint…. A point guard lead the league at different times in scoring in the paint. One of the greatest without a doubt.
I really dont think there will be another PG like Tony Parker he was crazy in the paint. Just really fun to watch as well and played with a lot of passion.
While there were some amazing shot blockers and defenders during his run. Even Shaq waiting for him under the basket most of his career. Then still did what he did in the paint.
@@shawna4309 it's not Chris Paul holds the record I believe I know Tony is in the top 10 which is a huge honor considering the bigs during his run. Kg, Shaq, Dwight Howard, Yao Ming. Just to name a few 7 footers he had to tear drop over. Cp3 though doesn't have 4 titles and 1 finals MVP. Here's a fact though Tony Parker is the FIRST euro player to ever win finals MVP. That's crazy.
@@adawait2179 exactly bro .. ppl think i’m crazy when i say tp a top 5 pg all time .. i’m sorry but i can’t ever throw nash stockton russ or cp in front of him
This highlight reel should remind us of how we should always be aware of and thankful for those who have come before us. When it comes to the game of basketball, Tony Parker has lowkey changed the way one plays the PG position for ever.
Parker was special just amazing thanks for bringing gold to our city I’ll always have him at best pg ever no one is stopping prime TP the spin the tear drop the speed he was it.
Tony parker was that dude for real. Its crazy watching these highlights he is one of the best at driving to the basket players ever most of his highlights are layups or floaters. Obviously hes a hall of famer but hes a underrated Pg
Tony Parker has always been a dog of all dogs when it comes to point guarding no of his moves were flashy just quick and perfected spins. bro was a beast
Honestly spurs will always be my #1 favorite team of all time. They are and will forever be the best team ever literally the only team in the nba that stick to the fundamentals how beautiful is that you can’t be disappointed with the spurs
TOUGH little dude. So proud of him Spurs are my team bc of him Each piece of the Spurs have been pounding this rock for more than a decade, what a legacy And people thought they were boring 😂😂😂
Ginobili is moreso than TP. There's a reason that Gino always had the ball and ran the final play in the closing seconds, last play of the game for the win type moments.
It was crazy it didn't matter what kind of player it was or what kind of level they were on. If TP got you with a dirty crossover or Spin move sheesh. It was over at that point because he would have the defender on their heels. You can see it watching the video. Everytime its a nasty one the defender is on their heels. So that means if you tried to move real quick your brain would also register you're off balance. You'll prolly fall so all these dudes you see it in their face lol its like "damn" kind of reaction😅.
Underrated because he did his job on offense and got back on defense without theatrics anywhere in between. A staple of a Popovich coached team. Other team got an easy bucket because you want to be flashy and celebrate whatever you just did on offense instead of getting back on defense??? No room for you on the Spurs roster.
Because people think he was only good because he was ok the Spurs. Yet fail to realize he was the best PG of his era. Nash, Kidd, Paul are all-time greats, but each and everyone of them could not do what TP9 did. Which was attack the paint relentlessly, no matter who was gaurding it, and destroy defenses a spin move at a time.
TP in his peak years was better than Stockton in his peak years. TP was able to create offense all by himself in moments when his team needed it. Stockton had nothing in his arsenal that equalled TP's ability to beat his man off the dribble, get into the lane and finish in traffic. His spin move and cross overs combined with his body control and swiftness were simply unstoppable.
Yep. TD got a teenager starting at point guard (TP was 18 when Pop named him the starting P.G.) and a unknown player from overseas that was the 57th pick of the NBA draft from two years prior (Ginobili) and both grew to become Hall of Famers alongside TD. The Spurs didn't sign unloyal ship jumping superstars from other teams to buy Championships. The Heat, Lakers, Celtics all did that type of crap. The Spurs???? They built their Dynasty. TD surrounded by role players (Bruce Bowen, Stephen Jackson, Gary Neal, Danny Green, Fabricio Oberto, Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner, Patty Mills... to name a few) that did their jobs as Pop demanded and with two players that eventually grew into HOF players with the team that drafted them. I just wish the Khawhi situation never had went south because had he remained a Spur...another Dynasty it could've been. Khawhi was drafted by the Pacers and immediately traded to S.A. for George Hill. San Antonio, the fans, were upset because George Hill was loved by the city....until we saw Khawhi play. TD had help for sure...helped by a Spurs organization ran by Pop and R.C. Burford with a keen eye for scouting, drafting, signing and developing players that knew team success was achieved by putting team first.

Are you still tryna reach the league. Dont stop playing though arggggggg
Es tu par tout hasard un commentateur régulier sur busa?
Rondo and CP are like the same age, Rondo was no “youngster”
Can’t forget he beat Lebron too

We don’t mention him enough in talks of the one of the greatest guards to play this game!
He just went to the hall of fame

Spin move Tony Parker still amazing now

this man literally led the league in paint points while playing under the rim and having 1-2 bigs (tim) camping under there 🐐
