- Another amusement park season has come to an end, and that means it's time for me to do my annual recap of the season from my home park Kennywood. After the brief 2020 season that barely happened, 2021 brought back a full operating schedule for the park, as well as a few attractions back from the dead. With new events, openings, and closures, here's my month-by-month recap of Kennywood's 2021 season.

There was a passholders event in Sept and it was for the whole park. It was great. Glad they are doing this. Saw better operations too. Enjoyed jackrabbit in Dec! looking forward to this Summer.
Same
That night was also the last night the Steel Curtain was open that season around 30 mins before the park was going to close the steel curtain closed down unexpectedly but it was reopened for the last 10 mins the park was open. During the season passholder event in September the park was open till 10pm. me and a friend rode what was the last ride of the night and we would later find out it was the last time the Steel Curtain was run with people on it that season
Is it just the videos or does Old Mill look a little empty
9:07 - 9:12 look at the swaying in the tower while the coaster goes along. That's a lot of movement and twisting.
Oh and the stiffener plates should triple the strength at the joints, so i dont expect structure issues ever again.
Im so excited to ride phantoms revenge for the first time!
Man this parks going to look amazing next year
You're going to be floored by the near misses under the Thunderbolt structure combined with the ejector airtime, it's wild and feels totally out of control. I just wish Morgan had found a way to cram another 500-1000 feet of track into the layout. For me, I will finally get to ride Steel Curtain.
Same imma ride it for the first time too
Im hyped
7:23 Odd how Exterminator isn't open for their Winter Event
The entire Lost Kennywood area is closed off for Holiday Lights so nothing over in that section is ever open.
@@RampagingRex Sorry, Didn't know
I think the park is moving in the right direction. I didn’t think this season was great but it has given me a lot more optimism for the future
The outdo song sounds like it’s form sonic lmao love it tho
bro, please go full frontal with your video game content lol like you give me big scott the woz vibes, your comedy and way of storytelling, and even presentation, are all superb and all the guys on the scott the woz reddit agree as well! (i shared your video and yeah lol lots of praise!) i think that will be what will take you to youtube stardom, these amusement park things are alright or whatever, but i think it would work best for you if you were to create a seperate channel for these amusment park videos as they are quite niche, your video game content needs a lot more exposure and you need to contine working on them! keep up the great work bro, sincerely, a fan!
Steel Curtain was getting stiffener plates at all the joints. My dad who works in steel construction said that was exactly what they were doing. He said it would only take a week or 2 to complete it. It should reopen opening day depending on the weather.
I Love the park the season was great And I am even more excited for the park this season! Im excited to see the park looking like its brand new although it is a lovely, old, traditional park!
I was gonna check out Kennywood this year but I decided to wait until next year and get a season pass. I already have membership season passes for Cedar Fair and Six Flags in 2022. Next year I’ll get season passes for Kennywood and Hershey Park
This is random but I was the first one to ride on the second day steel curtain ever opened in 2019!!! I was in front row! It was really smooth and way faster then it was running in this video.
I hate that they got rid of Paratroopers, Barren Curve, Swing Around, Whip out, Log Jammer and the cars from the front get rid of those stupid games and 3d theaters I want the freaken rides if they have no room or by some land around the park so none have to go away. Not much of and upside down rollercoaster person or high back and forth rides which they seem to get rid of rides I like for them and game and music perfromance booths.
they are approving on some rides but not all
at 8:45 when nobody high fived those people i laughed so hard, that must've been so awkward
Kennywood is on an upswing! Can't wait for this year's season to start!
8:46 wow no high fives 😂
I'm going to Kennywood for the first time in May. Super excited! If they open at 11AM, what time should I be in the parking lot?
I feel they have done a lot to improve and maintain the park. She's an old gal so can take some time to spruce her up. Excited about the 2022 season as well.
2021 was a better year than 2020 for sure.
I think they should be mindful of the vegetation removal and not go overboard. They did learn how much we love the park with the outcry from the public I'd say. Still. 4 rides at one time?
Ahh thank you, I'm having Kennywood withdrawals!
Great video! They did have a 3rd passholder only event that was the weekend of Labor Day I think? I though this was the rescheduled event that got rained out. At this particular pass holder event was the night the phantom tests were seen. I was at the park that night but by the time we got to phantom it was dark and I didn’t see the Samples until the next day on Facebook. Also, regarding operations I met my cousin and her husband one evening after work and she commented how much better operations were compared to the previous time she was there which was approximately 3 years prior.
Very excited for this season! It'll be my first as a season pass holder. I thought last year was a big step in the right direction for Kennywood. Really seemed like they lost focus on the park whether it was upkeep or customer outreach. These 125 announcements give me a lot of hope. Hoping exterminator gets a refirb or re-theming at some point but one thing at a time
Good work, bud.
5:48 Tino’s reaction says it all.
