I don't know about you but this song turns me inside out every time. Their voices are so versatile,Avi going high to low and Tim going low to high leading Austin to fly through the stratosphere.
Avi Kaplan was the bass with Pentatonix until he left in 2017 - he has a successful solo career as a singer songwriter now. Start with his 'Change on the Rise' - you'll be blown away.

So good. Avi has a beautiful voice. That was Tim doing the low note at the end. Home Free did this live at the Sing Off (the NBC show in 2013), and Tim went even lower at the end on the show! Such a clever rendition. Adam, the beatboxer, is amazing. Great reaction, “Home Freakin Free”……hahaha love it!😍

Homefry here. If you want to start down that rabbit hole with Avi, I'd suggest your first taste of Pentatonix should be "Hallelujah". Both Pentatonix and Home Free are awesome acapella groups. Then, add Voiceplay to that and you'll be on an awesome voyage. They are all excellent in their right.
They are indeed all awesome. And Hallelujah is a good call for PTX but Avi left them in 2017 and has his own career now. Yet another rabbit hole!

This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
A - Two more HF videos and you'll be ready for HF's cover of "Mayday!" This is one of their best-ever performances...but you can't appreciate it fully until you are well acquainted with the guys and their voices. You've heard good examples of the tenors (Austin and Rob) and bass (Tim), but you haven't heard Chance take the lead. That's easily fixed! This is Memorial Day weekend, and now's the perfect time to watch HF's cover of Dire Straits' song "Brothers in Arms" ( ua-cam.com/video/_ChD2WjD2tY/v-deo.html ). This video features HF's deep voices (Tim and Chance) and its somber message is fitting for our annual celebration of those service men and women who put on the uniform and never got to take it off.
I love that you are exploring Home Freakin Free. Lol. These covers got them their start and are great. They have been putting out albums of original music too and these guys are also gifted writers. They just won 6 more Telly Awards for their music videos. Check out Whats Left Of My Heart, written by Tim Foust, the bass. Other new songs written by Austin Brown, high tenor, are the Stargazer trilogy starting with Give Me A Sign, then Stargazer Lily, part 3 will be released shortly.

I'm loving all of the Home Free reactions! Now that you've been introduced to Avi, you also need to check out Pentatonix and later on, Voiceplay. Those 2 round out the Acapella trifecta of amazing groups. Avi is also known to be able to do overtone singing, which is not easy at all to do and you can hear on some of the earlier Pentatonix songs. And Geoff CastellucciI, the bass singer for Voiceplay, Avi (formerly of Pentatonix and the one featured in this song, and Tim Foust (the bass from Home Free) are all friends who have different vocal styles but love to share low note singing tips. I also wholly endorse Voctave as well just for good measure as Kate's amazing soprano notes in most of their arrangements give me such chills.

Love these guys. Check out Pentatonix. They are another acapella group. They won the 1st season of the sing off. One of my favorite songs by them is Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone.

I absolutely love Home Free. They are so good at what they do and look like they are having so much fun doing it. Another acapella group you can check out that Avi Kaplan was a part of is Pentatonix. I am sure I am not the first, nor will I be the last to suggest them. Might I suggest Hallelujah by Pentatonix to start off with.

Both Avi and Tim have blown out speakers with their low notes during concerts. You should check those videos out too. Bot are pretty short, so you could combine the two and do one video. And when you are done going don this rabbit hose with Home Free, you have Avi's old group PTX, I especially like the pre 2017 when Avi was with the group, but Mat has done a good job of filling Avi's shoes. Then you can start down the Voice Play rabbit hole with Geoff Castellucci. Geoff, Tim and Avi are arguably the best three basses on YourTube right now.

Homefree is one of a kind without a doubt. Adventure down the rabbit hole with Voiceplay and Geoff Castillucci, their bass singer.
Highly recommend Hoist the Colors, We Don't Talk about Bruno and Dragonborn. And of course all of Geoffe's solo work is beyond wow (ghost riders, headless horseman, 16 tons...) There's a lot of really good acapella talent out there but these are the best.

If you have the ability to adjust the settings on your mic... you may want to reduce the mid and increase the treble. You unfortunately sounded somewhat muffled... kinda like if you were on the other side of a window.

Glad you enjoyed it. But you need to fix your mic. It sounds like people talking from behind a wall. You can tell it's a human voice but you can't make our the words.

I would have liked to hear your reaction, but your voice is muffled. Do you have too much echo, reverb, or bass on your microphone? The voices in the video you played were perfect. That’s why I suggest the issue is with your mic.
Sweetheart, You may need to talk in the other side of your microphone OR you need to buy a small mixer to balance your sound. You sound muffled when you talk.
