Most of all the comments are at least 6 years ago but mostly 10 to 12 years ago. Yet here I am in 2021 enjoying this masterpiece going through qotsa whole catalogue. I started in rock music groups from about the late 1950s and went through every ones catalogue from Johnny Cash to Allman brothers and just now making it to 2015 with bands such as Royal Blood. I literally have rock bands catalogues in my head. I know all albums, years they were released , etc. Etc. As of now I'm stuck on qotsa, why? Well this song for example. And after all my studying I've learned that qotsa is one of those bands that literally there songs sound better live.
I love how Queens of The Stone Age incorporates the slide into the majority of their songs giving it a very ominous tone. Great work and one hell of a live performance!
my best friend just passed and the last song we played together in a jam sesh is this beautiful piece of work. we recorded it and its just unfair how perfect this song ties into his death. i love queens of the stone age it is easily the greatest band next to alice in chains and led zeppelin. ohh and this is the BEST version of this song. Homme is my hero
Oh hell yeah, alot of people hated that album because nick was not there which is bullshit. the queens have always put together a great number a classic for the right mood.
The guitarist in the beginning? That is Alain Johannes from the Band Eleven. His wife natasha Schneider who is the keyboard player in this video is also a part of Eleven which is an amazing band in and of itself :D
I couldn't agree more, people need to shut up about who's in the band, and have a good listen. Music should always be about the sound being made, not the people making it.
Just saw this for the first time.... amazing song/great performance/unique instrumentation/stellar musicians/perfect sound. QOTSA never fails to bring the entire package. Great band
Greetings from Joshua Tree....QOTSA managed to embody the emotional exchange of a Long Slow Goodbye through the music which is then felt by all those that hear it, a rare trait that very few bands are capable of.
You know that tingle in your face right down to the rest of your body that brings a tear to your eye from having your mind blown and your ears orgasm. Fuck I love this song!!!
I agree. I still get sad when I think about it. I made a youtube channel to commemorate her and the music of her and Alain's band 'Eleven'. If your interested the channel is called 'RememberNatasha'. I felt that there weren't enough memorials to her so I thought it was the least I could do. :)
no offence to natasha , as taking the piss out of the dead is not something i do , but ive noticed how many people are now only praising her after she has died did u not enjoy her when she was alive? people now feel they haqve tp say something good even if they dont mean it , ie VapoRxAB is just talking out of his arse ,if josh homme had his balls cut off i never came wud have a different meaning ... not taking the piss out of natasha just stateing something ive noticed . peace
Natasha Shneider. The Queen of the Stone Age.
+Danny Grady i'll never get to see her live with queens, and it tears me up
+ClumsySaunter She's sex.
Look how she adores watching Alain solo. Tragic.
Danny Grady 💖

I think this might be my favorite song on Lullabies. It wasn't at first but, it grew on me.
Greetings from Joshua Tree....QOTSA managed to embody the emotional exchange of a Long Slow Goodbye through the music which is then felt by all those that hear it, a rare trait that very few bands are capable of.

@25tab It's 'non-sequitur'. Seems to have gone over your head too.
I'm not josh but I can answer that he can't do anything wrong in my book
Hes working with qotsa on their new album
No, he's working as a touring guitaris for "Them Crooked Vultures".
What a poignant song. That could have been written for poor Natasha. RIP. Very sad news.
just wondering...why doesnt anyone like her?
i miss natasha
well, 1 outta 3
Josh rippin the bassline 3:56
Voice sounds alot like Thom Yorke in Reckoner
during the E chord intro he jumps into another chorod then back to E a couple a few times. Whats the other chord? It works really well wit hthat E
10 years later and noone knows lol
Actually i caught a glimpse, hammer on and off with the pinky on the low E 3rd fret
