That might be the stupidest question you ever read and possibly you will never respond as video is old, but was the bike perfectly vertical when you were pouring the oil? I have only side stand, so do i have to ask someone to hold it for me? U don't want to overfill it
Block under the side stand but a friend to sit on is better because of the fall danger Personally hate bikes without a centre stand There are no stupid Questions Not asking questions is the stupid thing
@@bikerdood1100 omg. You actually responded. Thank you. Sv is my first 'proper' bike I own, tomorrow gonna change the oil for the first time in my life (embarrassing considering I'm 33 years old). Thanks for the video and response.
The SV650s maintenance manual, indicates that it's possible to change the oil filter at 18,000 km, wich means that we can change the oil 2 more times with same filter, what do you think about this?? is it true???? Thanks for the video.
Possibly true, it’s better to change both however and given the price of a filter it seems sensible to change both. At the moment car and bike companies are claiming ever increasing distances between servicing, this may not pay off long term in terms of cam chain wear etc This has been seen to be the case in the car industry and I don5 see higher reving bikes being any different. Sure you can go longer with an oil filter but that doesn’t mean you should
@@bikerdood1100 Thanks for the explanation, in my case, I m not used to over-working my bike, always I drive in middle rpms, the bike is made for racing, but I like too much enjoy the road. However, i'll change both. Greetings.
I think people tend to stress about oil, but I think that with a decent modern lubricant either semi or fully synthetic it’ll be fine. The only really important is changing regularly I usually change before the book recommends and particularly after winter as water gets in the engine
Thanks for the video, it was quick and easy to understand, my 1999 sv650 thanks you as well 😊
Hope it was useful
Appreciate the video! Well shot, quick, and to the point
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video, I have the exact same bike. Greetings from Australia 😀🇦🇺
👍🏻
Just did my 2002 sv 650, cheers for the heads up
Hope it was useful
