Hi, What you would do if there you have to scan another car, and same problem, ignition can't be on, and diagnostic can't be done? In this case everything is ok because BMW and Mini can be diagnosticated in this way too.
Just had that recently on a ford focus... Had to bypass the ignition relay to force ignition on... Each case can be different... you need to understand what you are dealing with, and come up with a plan... there is no straight or one fits all answer to that... Was no need really... The way the footwell was behaving was quite clear what the issue was... checking voltages and grounds with the power probe was enough for me... I’ve checked all fuses and relays but didn’t know if you know of any common faults to look for in regards to the no communication to CAS module ? All the best 🍻
FRM's are just the usual German tat on these, 1 series etc. Its amazing how they can design something that half eats itself when cranking the car to produce spikes. The data is usually still in the DFlash inside the FRM's MCU but the partition table in the MCU that references the emulated eeprom just zeros itself. At least its an easy fix and not the £1400 + £200 labour BMW sometimes quotes.

Could be many things...
But start by check power and grounds at the module, CAS, then communication lines etc...

FRM didnt cause no start , was just a coincidence, whatever caused the initial problem still isnt fixed (CAS or the lock)
