I'm usually a fan of your content but this was strange and came off a little bitter. Your arguments were contradictory -everyone and their mother has one but their bags are so hard to get/ it's not exclusive but the prices are insane, etc.. As for the bags looking tacky, you probably live in a place where people are what you consider tacky, I guess. I just spent a week on the Upper West (and East) Side in New York and the most beautiful, chic women casually carried their Neverfulls (which in theory would give you the ick). Trust me, it was the opposite of tacky. Women where I live, in the EU, wear them with monochromatic outfits and they always looks polished, effortless. I think it boils down to how one wears the bag. If you're wearing it for others, it's tacky. If you're wearing it for yourself, that shows.
Well said. I love my LV croisette which used to be an “it” bag. I wear it now much more than when I purchased it 4 or 5 yrs ago. It’s so practical and it goes with so many of my outfits.I wear it for myself, I don’t careif it is no longer the “it” bag or all over IG or whatever. It is a classic bag design and the DE is timeless IMO. It’s the “hanger”, not the dress that makes it quiet, classy, or tacky.
Yes, this seemed very contradictory. First she says that she does not like that everyone and there mothers have LV bags and then not soon after she says that she is turned off by the fact that LV is making it harder for people to buy their bags. Im so confused 🫤.

LV will always be LV. Tacky? I don’t think so. I think it depends on how you style them. When I was in Italy, saw a lot of women wearing LVs especially the monogram ones. They still look so elegant, classy and sophisticated. Not at all tacky. However, I noticed that when they for example wear monogram, they tend to have a very minimalistic yet classic outfit and they are naturally elegant when it comes to mannerisms and how they carry themselves.
I guess, no matter what or which bag you carry, you will still look who you truly are.

I purchased a LV bag in Paris 25 yers ago and the Customer Service suck! Your experience with that SA would have required security when I finished with him. I refuse to let any SA in any store treat me bad. . Like them I work for a living!
LV still has several nice and classic bags. Respectfully, the UA-cam girls and ig influencers are definitely part of the problem. You guys bought, returned, lied and etc just for Social Media. Selling bags and buying bags just for videos. I don't blame LV for their return policy and the CA are problem just over the BS. At the end of the day...these items are not needed and just 1st world problems.
I think Louis Vuitton looks less desirable right now coz of the whole new quiet luxury trend. I bought a pouchette Métis in 2020 and I failed to style it coz it doesn’t fit my style. I still love the Louis Vuitton monogram coz I think it’s classy. It’s just over saturated because of social media influence and that’s ok coz they don’t make bags for just a few people, that’s why I don’t like statements like ‘everyone and their mother has it’ coz it’s implies that those who don’t have are special. Everyone and their mother has a Toyota but it doesn’t make it a tacky car.

This same points can be made for Chanel as well. To be honest chanel is all over reality tv I think every housewife has a CF and B/Ks are getting in that category as well. You are making a un true statement. LV bags are not “tacky” they are well designed bags, you should say they are not your taste/style. You offend people when using the word tacky . Chanel is the queen of increases and CRAZY amounts. Their customer service is awful, as of late their methods to buy a CF is complicated and classist. Hell embrace their classist methods. I hope you plan to do a video regarding Chanel in the same manner as you did LV. PS I am not even a LV fan (I am fendi) but fair is fair and facts are facts

Be fair, that's her point. So I don't think that's a very good response At one stage you were all over LV and now you are not. So maybe be more respectful towards those who still are fans because that was you once and it seems reasonable to expect more even handedness and even more humility. (and @melaniefields1559 is not even an LV fan she's just trying to even up the discussion). 'Thanks for watching' just sounds like 'have a nice day' it's a bit passive-aggressive don't you think? She was making constructive criticism and you are showing you cannot take that, this is not a good look at all.

My first LV monogram speedy 25 was under $600. My speedy nano was $300, I have the pochette accessoire - $195 and the list goes on. I’d NEVER spend money on LV bags anymore and I have quite a few. Just no way I can justify the exorbitant price increases over the years. If you’re gonna spend $5k on an LV bag, you might as well save up and get Hermes. Of course this is all based on being able to spend that kind of money on a bag in the first place. LV & Chanel no longer get my money for their handbags, not worth it and they’ll eventually regret those ridiculous increases
My exhusband and I went into LV in Paris and tried to buy a bag but they wouldn't wait on us. We were dressed nicely and polite but he is black and they just totally ignored him and waited on the asian people who were standing behind us in line. We stood there for a long time while they acted like he was invisible and were literally standing on their tips toes to look behind us to find more of the Japanese tourists to sell to. He stormed out of there and was furious. We had waited about 20 mins to get help. He did eventually buy me a bag in Maui at the LV but they also ignored us and only eventually waited on us because nobody was in the store. Then my mom and I went in one time and they were super nice to her and I couldn't help but think to myself they are dumb, my mom has $4 million dollars but my ex has wayyyyy more money but just because she was white and old, they were ready to treat her like royalty.

I absolutely love my LV bags and will never part with them. I can’t stand seeing Chanel CF everywhere, I have no desire to own one. I am probably going to be unpopular but I hate Hermes bags, they are so boring and frumpy looking.

To each their own. If you’ve fallen out of love then don’t spend your $ on it. But that doesn’t make them tacky. I find it crazy that because it’s popular it’s now tacky. So you don’t like that so many people have it. And don’t like that they are becoming more exclusive? They can’t be both. And I don’t see how they are any different from Chanel or Hermes.
You were treated so poorly because you were grouped with those that abuse the return policy by using the bags and returning them later. The CA assumed you are just like the rest.
I totally agree with this. I am 60 yrs old and over the years I will keep my luggage but the purses are way overpriced and not worth the price for Canvas. I have switched to Italian leather for a fraction of the price. True class and style doesn't come from luxury brand such aa LV or Gucci...
You didn't mention the biggest reason why I've abandoned the brand altogether, their quality has gone so far downhill. They messed up when they opened up manufacturing centers outside of France and Italy, and it shows in the (lack of) quality of their bags.

I tried to venture out to other brands. I bought a cute camera bag from Balenciaga and that scandal broke out. Now they are talking trash about Gucci. I think and hope that Louis Vuitton is a safe purchase for me, I hope😱
I agree. I bought the leather wine speedy and it’s stunning. It’s also my last piece for a long long time. I’m going to enjoy what I have and stop chasing these stupid things.

You have had a bad experience and it’s put a bad taste in your mouth. I do not ever think Louis Vuitton could be classed as tacky, but I would say the ‘person carrying’ it could make it look tacky. (not the item per se) It goes for every brand. Every brand has quiet and loud items, so it depends what you choose. Trends are short lived, I have been wearing quiet luxury items for years and suddenly it’s trendy to wear quiet luxury because of an influencer’s opinion. I have zero time for what an inexperienced person has to say on fashion & quality just because they run a UA-cam account. A brand that was carried by kings and the likes of Audrey Hepburn is not going to be affected by your voice or your UA-cam video. Yes, you are of course entitled to your opinion, but it really will make zero difference to the brand if you buy or not.

@ Yes but you don't really explain why. The fact is you were sucked into the hype and used to shop recreationally. This is very different from someone who has only a few bags of LV and keeps them for many years. Quality is off more recently but that's a separate issue to the fashion side of it.

I have about 7 bags over about 15 years from LV. It is a splurge when my husband gets me one as a gift. I finally told him to stop. I have enough. I see these LV collectors/influencers on you tube and they have over a hundred monogram and designer bags and shelves of SLGs etc and I think OMG why???! How would you ever use them. I have about 5 LV wallets/pochetes and I feel guilty for them not being used often….I think it’s an addiction and I think they will wake up one day and look at all the canvas and leather handbags and wonder what they were thinking.
I have had great experiences returning a bag or exchanging at the Beverly Hills location. They have always been good to me but I’m over spending so much on designer handbags. You can only wear so many. And I am glad I didn’t stock up on monogram canvas because at 7 pieces I think it’s overkill even for me. Also, I can tell that some of my coworkers think I’m an Ahole for carrying them to work but I don’t care. They are to be used and that’s why I have them. But, enough is enough. 😊
I wanted to quickly clarify something the word used int the title "TACKY' was used only for the purpose of the video TITLE. If you take the time to watch the whole video you will see that I never once use the word, I simply explain why I have fallen out of love at the moment which I think is normal and I am sure happens a lot with many brands. I’m so sorry about your negative experience. I’m from UK, my nearest Louis Vuitton stores are in London. I tend to shop in Selfridges London, never had an SA but every time I shop there the experience is immaculate! Whether I buy anything or not, I always walk out with a handful of perfume samples too. Higly reccomend the store if you ever visit London☺️
LV is not tacky in my opinion. It’s how you’re wearing the bag. Quiet luxury isn’t for everyone and regardless luxury is luxury at the end of the day.
I liked LV when I was younger, but my tastes have now changed, the only LV I care for now is items made from epi leather (& I don’t really like many of them either). Now I’m more interested in fine jewellery than leather or coated canvas goods, & I much prefer quality mid-range clothing. I may or may not purchase more designer fashion accessories in the future, It’s not really what I’m into right now. I’m wondering if a lot of us have just become bored with it because the existence of social media means we see (& notice) it a lot more often.
I see a lot of people attacking you. However, I agree with you. I liked the times when people who bought LV had a fashion sense. Now, the bags are ubiquitous. I find the LV monogram plastered all over the bags tacky. Unless you spend over $4,000, you're getting one of the coated canvas $2,000 bargain bags. I used to feel sophisticated wearing my LV, but now I stopped because I think spending so much on a bag is gaudy, tacky, and stupid. The same thing happened with MK and Coach but at a lower price. Now I see a middle-aged woman in sweatpants and uncombed hair, getting out of a beat-up Honda with a bargain LV bag. I think this is just a status symbol. People want it because of its prestige and status.

Hi there. I think it’s unfair to say that “not everyone who has one is dressed well or has good style”. Firstly style is very subjective and personal. One’s style is not one size fits all. Their are many factors at play ie culture, environment etc…. For you to judge a person’s style and how they are dressed based on your own standard seems elitist. Not saying you are, but it comes across that way. Secondly, a handbag’s main function is to hold people’s crap. So yes, it is possible that someone can have a nice, well made handbag without thinking about the fashion aspect of it. Louis Vuitton does offer a wide selection of items that is available to people in various ranges of wealth and class and they are (were) easily accessible. I credit social media influencers for bringing more awareness about the brand’s offerings to the mainstream. So a lot of people do own them because at the end of the day, Louis Vuitton is a retail business, not a member’s only club. They make products for the general population that can afford to purchase. For those wanting more one of a kind, exclusive items I suggest local artisans. And I do agree that the prices are outrageous for some of the canvas pieces and that the brand is no longer my cup of tea.
LV are trying to pick their other bags more is cappuccines and the twist as they want them to be the IT bag. They availablilty if the classics have gone down but I wouldn’t say they are less popular

I think the "influencer" cheapens luxury brands. This is WHY "influencer UA-cam channel is dying...Now all influencer are buying quite luxury brands (trends) quite luxury brands are more than that (most people wears them because they belong to an old money kinda people. They are not wearing it because it's a trends
I agree when some of these sales associates are so rude. I had a problem when I had bought a spare monogram strap a few years ago (wonky print). When I took it back he said “it’s meant to be like that”. I insisted this was faulty and asked that they order another one for me. They re-ordered one and said “the manager said if it is still wonky after we re-order it we can’t order you another one”.🤯
I went in a few days later and the second one was wonky but less wonky then the first one. That time I met a lovely lady sales associate. I explained what I have been going through and she said that they can re-order it till I am happy with it. The monogram print on the third one I received in store was straight. I’m not sure what the first S.A. meant when he said “it’s meant to be cruickid”. It’s really the way he said it and the way he dismissed me as if my point didn’t matter, and how he lied to me about not being able to re-order it the third time; all left a bad taste in my mouth. It had only been a few days so I could have refunded it and re-purchased it so I’m not sure what he was on about. I didn’t go back there for a few years after that. I sold majority of my LV bags and bought items from dior/ chanel /marc jacobs
It’s amazing how LV has changed over the years. They keep increasing the price but fail to do quality control on their items and some of their staff.

I have returned several bags purchased and returned online. The only issue I seem to have was waiting 2 months for a refund. Other than that no issues. But as I stated I typically only order online as there are no LV stores close by.
I prefer older LV’s style and design. For me, the newer designs are more loud, almost like “look at me” trying hard.
Do you think it's possible that they became so hard to acquire BECAUSE everybody and their Mother has one? Just playing devil's advocate.
The brand that I have been loving lately is Polene. I feel like it's a quiet luxury brand but you get such amazing leather craftsmanship. I will probably always love LV but I can totally see where you are coming from. Great video. Really got me thinking 🤔 ❤
For me it is all the same ! I buy what I like ! I always have an excellent service at Chanel or at LV ! For the moment we are in the quiet luxury trend and influencers make us think that LV is thaky😂but it is not.

I have had so many issues with this brand! First they accused me of being a reseller and sent me a nasty letter...then they tried to get me to buy trunks and super expensive stuff and treated me poorly when I wouldn't spend more than 5k...for this kind of money this brand AIN'T IT

Everyone has always been rude to me at louis. I only buy online if I really want something but like you, im over LV. I get better treatment at Chanel and Fendi
I’ve had no issues returning. My SA always says my happiness with the product is most important.
A bag could never look you tacky, it’s more your your hair, your lips or your nail’s 🤷♀️

@ I would have taken it further too. You have to fight sometimes or people will take advantage. He was reluctant to take the return because it comes off their sales figures for the day.
This change from shopping to being more mindful is more about you growing up and becoming wiser. I went through the same stage and I don't care about things. I am probably a few who gets overwhelmed with too many stuff. So for example, I have only 1 high-end watch. I don't have a designer bag, because I know the airlines won't take care of it and those overhead bins are filthy. I have 1 SLG. I have 1 Nike oversized bumbag that fills my needs for everyday use. I do love designer sneakers though. But as for clothes, I buy everything on sale and the brands I go for are Theory, Vince, Rag & Bone and Frame - high-street brands that go on sale. So that tells you I am very minimal, except for designer sneakers and gym sneakers.
Huh 🤔 so you don’t like everyone having the bags yet you don’t like the high prices, well one of the reasons LV raised their prices was to be more exclusive and please people like you who complain about everyone having LV bags.

I think the LV Pouchette Metis is a classic bag. I love it. never liked the neverfull. I haven't been buying anything because I will be moving a few states over, so less things to pack. But I have to ask you guys, have any of Azure bags that you store away started smelling? I packed my Felicity Azure bag away and forgot about it. I was looking for something and I found the box and upon opening it smell like cheese. I had to leave it outside and after a week it still smells a faint bit. 💕
Bought many LV and returned many without any issues with my SA, spent more then $60k, I haven’t bought any more LV for over 2 years.
I’m more a Chanel girl but Louis Vuitton monogram is classic and always will be. These SA CA whatever are nice to us for the money only. There is a UA-camr on here that really believes these folks are her friends. It’s so sad to hear her because most of us realize when you stop spending they stop communicating.
Anyone who actually buys or owns luxury will tell you bags AND clothes are NOT made nearly as well lately yet cost 4-5 times as much. 💯 🍵
I had a similar experience with a Louis bag. I had only had it for a year and the surface of the leather on one corner was rubbing off. This wasn’t corner wear this was about an inch square had rubbed off. They said it was normal wear and tear and refused to repair it. I was so furious I have never bought one of their bags again. I have also really disliked the canvas bags. I think they are loud and tacky and too brown and I don’t wear brown. I still like their SLGs but apart from 3 of their leather bags they aren’t my style. After having watched UA-cam for about 10 years the monogram canvas bags also seem to be everybody’s first luxury bag but they also seem to be a style that many people grow out of.
The brown is a neutral colour goes with anything pretty much and people buy those monogram bags because they're light to carry plus durable. They're workhorses. They're not glamorous. Everybody is suddenly against monogram and now too elevated to see the value in them.
I would not wear a monogram bag to an evening event it 's day wear only for me and I have the Alma PM and it suits me because of the shape. I'm tall and slim and it looks great with simple casual clothes but also more dressed up as well. Just daytime only. Workhorse only.
As the saying goes: horses for courses. It depends what the racetrack is which horse you select, it's the same here.
As for the wear and tear it seem like that was a quality issue and you should have pursued that. If companies get a lot of returns they try to bluff the customer, all companies try this. But equally if you wore it every day for a year it might be someone else's 10 years of wear IDK. The Alma has a weakness in the corners but it's a very nice shape IMO. I don't go the epi leather because too heavy.

There our some LV bags that I don't like, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion; however the LV bags and SLGs I have I love!! There are some classic LVs and some trendy just gotta find what you like and who gives a damn what people think.
So because Louis Vuitton is worn by poor lower class people to use as a flex. Lois Vuitton is the most counterfeited bag out there. This is why I don’t buy luxury; it’s fad fashion.

Use to date a colombian woman who liked these bags they are way over priced cheaply made & are all not made in france anymore many are made in different places its all vanity to get the attention i sold one of them on ebay for the ex girlfriend they are a complete waste if money..
I do really like my luxury bags, even my reversed monogram pochette Métis I still love it and wear it; the one thing I will say is that I hate how much piracy the brand has… I don’t mind that “everyone and their mother has one” but I do mind counterfeits; in Italy and in Spain I saw how much counterfeits are sold publicly and I was impressed how real how they look, specially the multi pochette. I do believe everything matters you can’t look like a scrub and have a Louis and expect it to look classy. I am just careful in what I purchase now but I recently bought the side trunk in monogram and love it
