I know its just a weird animation, but for a frame or two on Data Luxord's cutscene right before the fight starts, there's an animation where his arm is massively contorted.
Loved these videos! Subscribing immediately! Here's one I discovered: The puzzle "EDGE" was called "Frontier" when they translated Final Mix for HD 2.5. However, they seem to have done a faulty find-and-replace for this, as the Axel 2 reaction command "Burst Edge" became "Burst Frontier", and the unused keyblade "Edge of Ultima" had its name changed to "Frontier of Ultima" despite not being obtainable through normal gameplay.
You say there's seemingly no limit on the damage boost you can receive by continually failing to defeat Shadow Roxas, but considering the difficulty adjustment isn't stored on your save, is it even possible to view the value changing based on gameplay? If not, then the limit is the point at which one hit defeats Shadow Roxas. Even if it is somehow possible to view the difficulty adjustment value being affected by gameplay, beating Shadow Roxas in one hit is an effective enough limit that it doesn't matter if it goes higher.
First person view mode in KH2 is possible for some combat unlike every other KH FPV iirc; however, using any reaction command, lock-on, Drive Form, Summon, Limit, Quick Run, or Glide will immediately put you back into third person. You can go back into FPV *during* a Drive Form or Summon after selecting it; however, regular Limits and Summon Limits have no FPV at all. Also, all attack and magic animations as well as Dodge Roll will lock your camera horizontally (but not vertically) for the move's duration. Depending on the move you use, your camera will automatically move (regular air combo finisher turns your view to the left and back forward during the attack, for example), and will rotate to your target during direct attacks (would not recommend using Magnet Spiral when battling in FPV, as the animation is long). If you are moving in any direction from your camera angle, you will attack in the direction of your camera if there are no targets to soft-lock on. Guard forces your view to spin in a circle extremely quickly at the beginning and end of the animation; at high frames it can be used to look behind you. Dodge Roll will look in the direction you dodge, making it also helpful for looking around. Conclusion: Playing a full FPV experience is possible for some battles, it's just very difficult to get used to. If you want to do it in a Crit Lvl. 1 file, by all means, but you're in for a trial of endurance if you do...
@@coreysg9 There’s a lot of interesting things about the game to learn. I recommend watching Regular Pat’s videos on it if you’re curious. I’m loving this KH2 series, and excited to see more!
I just mean I won't be able to bring anything new to the table. What makes this series different is that I have knowledge that a very limited number of people have. I can't say the same for any other KH game, and I don't currently have any plans to expand that.
I was messing with a godmode mod months back when I was playing through KH2 and I found out that nearly all the moves that take sora off the field (such as the Beauty and The Beast heartless boss sucking you into the ground) will softlock you unless it properly damages you, there's some sort of check. Similarly the mulan dragon boss I remember doing something with godmode active that made me stuck in the holding on animation until it looped and kicked me off telling me to hold on again. However fights like Luxord's card games and Marluxia's numbers would still kill you because they act as minigame game-overs not dependent on health points.
regarding genie's form change glitch, I take it it's not that similar to a Berserk Charge combo in the sense that Sora's combos don't add as much Revenge Value to the enemies?
The Berserk Hori tech works because enemies don't get any moment to break out of the stunlock if timed correctly. Their RV is actually through the roof, that's why the moment you drop it, they retaliate. The same applies with the Genie version. While the Genie version has the advantage of not needing Berserk Charge, it is ultimately harder because you have to menu between every other aerial.
@coreysg9 I swear I watched an item box hit my character at the end of that match. In fact it's happened a few times now that I think about it. Right as the game is slowing down item boxes will be coming at me. Once in mulan and another time in pride lands iirc
@coreysg9 Granted I only ever saw them at the end and have like 9 instances of lucky lucky but that's what I observed. I don't remember what, but I picked up a material at the end of the second fight when I was finishing my plat yesterday, as well as, I believe, the checkpoint mission in mulan, with 2 lucky lucky's
@@Dragons4Dummies I'm pretty certain you're just misremembering, unless you've discovered a bug that causes item drops in forced fights. Feel free to send a video clip of you getting drops in the fall to the treasure room to prove me wrong 👍
@coreysg9 For sure, I'm gonna test it later today and see if I can get a recording of it. I could very well be mixing it up with my bbs playthrough right before, but my exact thought at the time was, "It better still give me my item!"
I have heard of the bag crash but never had it happen to me, that is until the first time play KH2FM for the PS3. Happened at the very end of the mini game and didn't save for a bit so had to replay up to that point >.< Lol
Does the skateboard glitch make it easier to complete the Skateboarding minigame high scores? (not that they are that difficult to begin with of course)

Lol losing to shadow roxas looks harder than just beating him
It took 7 minutes of failure over and over to be able to one shot him 😭
@@coreysg9 Ooof lol. That's a long 7 minutes for sure

I actually knew about the Dragoon one, but didn't know exactly what triggered it! Very interesting to know why exactly I was fighting a ghost!

7:37 Sora is just taking a minute to debate whether or not saving the world for a second time is even worth it
@alex5rebooted448 This is the timeline where Sora decided to say 'Nahh' and go back to his parents' house.

I’ve had the Dispel jump happen a couple of times but didn’t entirely understand why, thanks for explaining
I have experienced one frame bag crash, I was so confused.
This is just amazing, there’s so many weird quirks of this game I’ve never heard if before, this series is great 👍
Wait this is actually some pretty deep cut stuff. I'm used to seeing videos like this saying things everyone already knows.
Corey knows this game insanely well. You won't find more nuanced explanations on this game than this. This is the endgame. ❤
Thank you both 🥹
Oh my god the genie one might break that one stupid mushroom
Ahhhh I've seen about the bag crash but couldn't find an explanation for it, so glad you provided the answer
This stuff fire once again, keep it up big slime 😁🗣️💯🔥🔥🔥

Huh, nice to know I’m to blame for that 1 frame bag crash. I usually just mash triangle and zone out until the bag sequence is over.

that first one... how viable is that in speedruns?
You can do a drive by Magnet to a Shaman, but whether they will give the Dispel Reaction Command is down to RNG. So it is viable, but it's luck based.
