For the last 8 years I've rescued about 170 stray animals. 35 pets live in the flat I rent as I don't have my own house. Also, I feed about 40 homeless dogs and cats daily.

You should better build them a shelter, they need a warm place. And put the food on a plate. They also need water!
I bring them food and water every day.

Ok so me and my family moved into this neighbourhood and there were a lot of stray cats! And like a year later a stray cat came up to our house smelt our hands and let us pet her we nick named her Cleo and we feed her milk every time she comes!

is to first slowly approach it and put your hand close to its nose
so the cat will smell your hand and be more familiar with you

Two walked into my backyard last year. They're now named, have their own built shelters, get fed twice daily, have water, toys, and get visited. They've been to the vet, but that was not a fun experience for any of us.
One lets me pet her. The other is very skittish.
If it raises its back it doesn’t mean it trusts you it’s just a nerve that puts their tail up and back up.

There used to be this stray cat that used to leave near my home and I was a mother of three kittens, and u would think the mother cat would try to protect her babies but like she did not mind us petting her but the kittens did not like us, they hissed everytime, and the mother cat tried to show her kittens were wernt gonna hurt her but like the kittens were to scared lol💀

Don’t pet a cat whilst they are eating, it’s a big no no
Instead let them sniff your hand. Try playing with them and feeding them so that they associate you with good things like play and food.
And when you feel like you’ve earned the cats trust, let them sniff your hand and you can start of by pet them on their body.
As you gradually earn more trust you start petting its head and neck but don’t touch their belly.
Or if they let u pet them over it’s fine.

You shouldnt pet cats that live outside house, because most of them have fleas, what you dhould do is bring them into the vet and they remove the fleas and it can be petted

You do not know this cat nor is it safe. You can feed them and stuff ( i feed some) but dont let it near you enough to pet it.
Ticks, fleas, and you might make a wound worse if you pet over it.

You really shouldn’t pet a stray cat as it may have fleas or worms unless you intend on taking it home taking it to a proper vet and having it as your own and even then you should come with gloves and an apron
