I first heard this tune being played by the Bathgate pipe band tremendous tribute to Duncan, it sounds great and at home on the guitar to. Alba gu br'ath the dream will never did.🤩👍
Gordon recorded the tune for me when we worked on Thunderstruck- sadly, his final studio album. I failed to persuade him to put the tune on the record! Sometimes I think I've changed it too much.....I guess I'm stuck with the arrangement now!
+Kyle Cosentino I think I found the notation and tab.Try this link es.scribd.com/doc/189213723/The-Sleeping-Tune-Tony-Mcmanus . There it is...;-) Never heard this song but I followed the first measures and it looks quite similar. Please note the tuning (CGCGCD) and also capo on second fret. I think that the single notes picking melody by the other guitarist is quite simple as to extract and play by ear. So, you said you will pay me in bitcoins OR dollars OR euros? ...;-)
Maybe I am launching a little armada of comments against the PRS acoustics such as the private stock series (like the Tony McManus Angelus or the Martin Simpson signature model) - but to my ear they are thin and weak. Of course - like the Emperor's new cloths - their remarkable woods, high cost, and 'fit and finish' which is probably flawless - lead 'reviewers' to suggest they are great instruments. I suspect a lower range Taylor would achieve much more (I do not like Taylors especially but they might sound like this). As PRS turn our beloved guitarists into salespeople we should carefully listen to the actual guitars. Actually even their aesthetic is quite unimaginative - the sort of design and 'trim' one might expect from someone with no real individuality or taste but a lot of money. A waste of wonderful woods and wonderful players. In my humble opinion of course ... and ps. I love Tony's playing
Realy better than this tune played with Tommy Emmanuel. Here there is symplicity for a simple and beautyful Melody. I ll listen again and again this version but the best will always be the one with ms toaspern
