Funny story. When I was a kid I would often listen and sing along to this song. Well, the chorus maybe. But not being a native speaker, my English wasn't very good back then, and I could only catch glimpses of what they were saying. So because of that, I had this strange idea that this song was singing about the casualties of the war, with the deceased worms singing the chorus.
As a kid we'd have to go through DOS to run worms.exe on windows 90. As the black screen with white text faded to a colourful menu-screen, the music playing, the worms fighting in the background, the brightness reflected in a child's eye as glee pressed my cheeks with the biggest of grins. To this day I will recommend this to just about anyone, it is a masterpiece. Hell, I even listened to it bawling my eyes out during one of my worst depressions because as a child the idea of this brave, stoic and tiny worm facing the world and war, never giving up and standing up for what is right... That shit has kept with me my entire life. We'll stand, we'll never run; stay until it's done. Though our friends may fall and our world be blown apart, We'll strike with all our might, we'll fight for what is right, Till the end. That stupid, silly, childish chant was one of those things that kept me alive, kept me going, till the end. Thank you for making a part of my life greater.
That explains about the box art of the game between the 2 worms Of course I can tell that the blue bandana worm is Boggy B. And the Helmet one is Spadge. Though I could be wrong but I think I can see where this is going.
The "Play Worms Music Theme" feature was broken in the US release of the game, and played the wrong song. There was a mistake made when mastering the CD, one audio track was accidentally written twice, throwing off all the track numbers afterwards. Fortunately, I was able to find the song by using a CD player program. It's too bad that a lot of US players could have missed out on hearing this song because of the CD mastering mistake.
Heh, never knew this was part of an official soundtrack. It was the heyday of mp3 swapping, and somehow this landed on my Iomega ZIP drive - remember those? Well, I simply assumed it was a fan song or something. Just found out it wasn't, apparently. :')
oh yeah, the cult Wormsong! BTW, last weekend evening I've been livestreaming some late night thoughts, accompanied by random demoscene tracks from the 1990s, and today I saw that NowWhat3 has been detected by YT as registered to a certain Bjorn Lynne :D
The spoken words in this song was voiced by David Bland at the Team17 office. The high-pitched voices singing on the chorus is me, Bjorn Lynne. I slowed down the music and sang with my normal voice on top of the slowed-down and therefore pitched-down music. Then I sped up the recorded vocals by the same amount and then put the pitched-up voices over the music.

I left Team17 because after 10 years of living and working in the UK, and with a small child 4 years old, I wanted to move back to my native country Norway and raise my family there.
I'm doubtful of this, but is there an instrumental version of this track floating around somewhere? And I don't mean the instrumental remix, I mean an instrumental of *this* specific and particular mix and melody.
@@bjornlynneofficial Thanks for the reply! If I google his name he seems to show up in the credits on a few websites for that, so that makes sense (though they also credit you for the worm voices in the chorus!). Couple more questions from a friend who produces updates for Worms Armageddon in his own free time, if you remember and have the chance to answer: 1) How did you make the "Rocket Power Up" and "Throw Power Up" sound effects for Worms 2 (the ones that play as you're holding the space bar to fire a weapon)? Or were those not you? If you have the original assets behind these particular sound effects he would be very interested in them for future functionality in the game. 2) In Worms Armageddon, did you compose all the melodies for the background music yourself or did some come from stock sources? My friend found something different with the Sitar music from WA's "ingame-08-desert" in the background and he's wondering whether they ripped it off, or if it was based on a common stock source.
@@Muzer0 Much of the background noise and some of the melodies in the Armageddon soundtrack are stock. I don't know the original sources but I've heard them in many other games released in the mid to late '90s such as Castlevania and Gex. The sitar music from the desert theme I've heard in various other publications, including a Vsauce video. Wish I knew which one it was but that was the first time I heard it outside of Worms
I don't remember everything but I think one of the main instruments I used was a Kurzweil K2500 which I still own and use to this day (October 2021) :)
all too real Boggy B got blown up by a landmine but stood up, stuck a single stick of dynamite up the enemy's squad's arse and somehow won the war It's so jubilant, almost like a dream what a great song, the Wormsong
Always pour one out for my lad Boggy B.
Wormsong has to be one of the most infectious tunes in gaming. Once it's in your head you can't shift it.
Thanks for listening. :-)
Still remember playing this game as a young teen in the late 90s and remember this song well! ☺️🪱🚀 🎶 much nostalgia.

Yeah, it gave that impression. It made me think of angelic worms singing in heaven.
This chorus has been stuck in my head since I was about 5 years old.
we are worms, we're the best
and we've come to win the war

nostalgia is a hell of a drug
I'm biased towards the Worms Armageddon remix since it's first Worms I actually played but it's nice hearing the original inspiration for the track!
Man, I just love this guy's music.
I love the chorus here. This song and the Worms Armageddon one are fantastic. I love listening to them. Good work!
I only just found out about this after playing worms for 25 years. Because my friend was playing it on his stream.
Thanks for listening, and for playing Worms for 25 years. :-)
Why did this album disappear from Spotify?
4:03 dat bass tho
Finnaly I found it, memories.
Nice, that was even uploaded by Divinorum!
Where did the name Boggy B come from?
No place. It was just a spur of the moment, off the top of my head, thing. It has no story, meaning or significance.
I used to assume it came from Johnny B
...I finally found....this right there, thats my childhood

Thanks for listening, yes, this was an official soundtrack which I composed and recorded in 1995 for the game "Worms".
BTW, I also had an Iomega Zip-drive way back when. I had forgotten about that! :)
When you give the original Worms game into a CD-Player, it plays this song with all the other soundtrack songs ;)

Yes

Maybe :)

Hello, Bjorn Lynne (Dr. Awesome), how are you, you watched my channel, and tell me why did you leave Team 17?
I left Team17 because after 10 years of living and working in the UK, and with a small child 4 years old, I wanted to move back to my native country Norway and raise my family there.
Such a banger…
Only to be surpassed by Armageddon's secret Scottish title screen song.
We want 10 hours of worm chorus
What's stopping you from creating that as a video? :-) It will be epic. 😜
I'm doubtful of this, but is there an instrumental version of this track floating around somewhere?
And I don't mean the instrumental remix, I mean an instrumental of *this* specific and particular mix and melody.
Me and my mates used to think they were saying "sing a pubic song" 🤣
i only heard the armageddon version and can't make out the worm lyrics - are there official ones?
yeah look it up on the worms wiki
One of the most beautiful Game soundtracks... childhood, happiness and sentimentality
Who provided the narration in this? Was it you?
@UChBxl-iS0aKYj3oNHmrzQ9w I know, but I want to know whose voice it is
As I recall, the guy who voiced the narration in this one was David Bland. He worked in the Team17 office.
