We love our peaceful days at sea but our most memorable moments are always the ones shared with friends. Which is why this week we decided to take all our new Filipino friends sailing. Because they have shared so much of their world with us, now we want to show them a little of ours.
    _______________________________
WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
    Things We're Most Curious About...
    GETTING OFF-GRID
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
    TALKING TO STRANGERS
People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment.
Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving.
    ALTERNATIVE LIVING
These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

It felt just as nice for us as a viewer as it did for your friends to share your day. The preparation and your shopping trip made it even more real. To see a local market, and even the supermarkets was a new and different experience. Good call. A bungee or other stretch cord would reduce shock-loading and make it more likely to arrest the fall and keep the bag attached, than just tear off the handle with the momentum of the fall.

Pls take time to talk with local fishermen on how to fish, what fish are biting and show you how to make your fishing rig. Purchase your fishing materials available at the nearby local fishing supplies market bringing along the list recommended by the local fishermen and let them set it up for you. You'll need this throughout your journey. Video your catch and cook and dining, a lot of viewers will be interested to view the scenes. Enjoy the bounty of the sea! It's always fresh and healthy to have. Squids are always bountiful and easy to catch + you'll love the squid rings and fried sun dried squids to go with your favorite drinks. Don't forget to learn how to prepare kinilaw, equivalent to somewhat local sushi with fresh coconut milk, lime, hot chili pepper etc. Search on UA-cam, you'll have plenty to discover... love your channel!

Always worked really well with Jerrycans for me I had a fuel filler situated in a summoner position on my boat, certainly made life a lot easier and safer. For the jerry jugs I would find a suitable ball valve that you can screw between the jug and the spout. Close the valve, put the jug flat on the deck, put the spout into the diesel port and open the valve a crack. The fuel will just slowly drain into the tanks with no further input from you.

Thank you so much for bringing us along with your wonderful friends. Your appreciation for the time and effort it takes for locals to get to know you was greatly appreciated.
Soon I will be taking off solo in a van around the US (subscriber since your RV days). My biggest fear is loneliness and isolation. It is a good reminder that I will need to take the initiative to reach out to others.

      Lol.
Jason isn't proficient at verbal concepts.
He's getting better but definitely needs online word development.
But he's stopped saying "crazy" multiple times per episode.
      I give him credit.

Here in the US, we call the first greens you cooked, Red Malabar Spinach. It is a vine. And is wonderful to grow on cattle panel arches! A few plants planted on both sides, will completely cover the 17 ft long arch:).

I've been to the Philippines twice for dive trips and I'm looking forward to going back again one day. The people (at least the ones I was lucky to have met) were kind, helpful and hard-working and the diving was fantastic. Loved the shot of Curiosity anchored in the shadow of that island!

Always enjoy your episodes. Suggestion for fueling from the bags. I noticed the handle slot. Make or buy a short cord with a strong clip of some kind at both ends. Clip one to handle, other to safety cable above the fuel cap. If you drop it, it won’t be in the water.🤔
    Fair winds to y’all 🇺🇸⛵️

I like the Keenan. I would build a mixing tank; either a large fill cone or bucket hose system with a large enough outlet to allow full pump flow. Ideally, place Valvtect Biogaurd contact bactericide in the fuel cans , funnel, or bucket before adding to tanks. After eight hours put the Biobor Jf growth disruptor direct in tank. Then Polish.😊

For the fuel transfer get a jiggle pump syphon, you jiggle the hose and the valve in the bottom keeps hose full and it will start syphoning on its own

For the folding jerry cans you need to copy what some of Canada does for bagged milk. To pour liquid out of a soft container just have a reusable hard sided container to set the soft container into when you tip it, so you have the structure to support it. I don’t imagine something like that exists, but it would be easy to DIY!
