You would think that after all these years of car design manufacturers would fit a power point and Phono socket in the boot to connect things like this.
Hi dude, i have the same subwoofer (Edge) when the stereo is off and the car is closed(locked), the green light on the subwoofer has to be on or off?? Thanks
Watching this helped me so much, I was having weird sounds from my sun and it wasn’t playing properly I’m guessing it was interference because last time I had people do it for me and the RCAs were running next to the wires so ima change that and see if that helps thank you
Great video! Torn between this and the Kenwood KSC-SW11, feel like this would shake my Fiat Panda to pieces! At £100 it's tempting, but it does steal a lot of room in the boot.
This is the 10" one. Its not that big to honest. Just right for me. But would look a bit bigger in a fiesta or panda type boot. But hay!... fuck it!!! Full send..hahaha
@@sonarcreep3691 Yeah the panda's boot is tiny! I was thinking of upgrading (thing's gutless) but I've done so much to it now I may as well go all out and keep it a bit longer. New sony hu, sound deadening throughout, stock speakers are actually decent but lack in the bass department. If it does well on the MOT in a few weeks I'll definitely consider getting a sub for it.
@@RayovacWorkhorse you can always take to the sub to your new car if you upgrade though. So not a waste of money.. thanks for the comment as well bud. Much appreciated 😁😁🙏

Thanks for watching.😁 hope it was of some use?.hah. "Splicing" is just joining a wire onto an existing wire by either cutting the wire you would like to connect to. And soldering what would now be 3 wires all back together. Hope I explained that OK?. Haha. If not? Just look up "Splicing wires" on utube.. there is tonnes of them.
I installed this exact one in my BMW 3 series and is a dual subwoofer. But the audio sounds funny. The car’s original speakers bass doesn’t seem to work and the bass boost setting does nothing. I’m so confused. The bass just comes from the boot and it seems like the cars bass has been switched off. Would appreciate your help
@@sonarcreep3691 thanks for your response. It’s the I drive business edition. They are the normal speakers which come with BMW not the upgraded ones and sorry I don’t know nothing about audio to answer the second question. @@BMW-M3C ok. He might have wired it up incorrectly. It should not affect the tonality of the stock speakers. So something is defo a mess... hope this helps
@@BMW-M3C hi bud. Bit of an old comment! But just in case you still haven't sorted this. I also have the idrive with base speakers (no tweeters, just 2 front door speakers, 2 rears and 2 udnerseat subeoofers) Set the HU treble and bass to a little over half. Then adjust the frequency on the sub to your liking.
On this sub? Put volume on full on the sub. Turn the frequency knob just over half way.(will need to tweet this, as it depends on what your door speakers sound like) And the final "bass boost" knob! Apply to taste. Once the sub has been set, you can now control just how much bass you want be adjusting the EQ of your headunit. Again! Its a personal teste thing. So adjust what sounds good to you... hope this help
@@sonarcreep3691 I'd recommend removing the negative terminal from the battery, as it removes the spark when you put it back on :) On another note - that is one clean engine bay! The amplifier settings are not meant to be done to taste lol, gain is for matching the input voltage to the cd player, the frequency is the crossover so you can blend it with the speakers, and the bass boost - be careful with that one at high volume lol.
